The only Thing that could make this visit ok was that The new servent mustafad really tried, he was almost alone serving for a full restaurant and it was his second Day. However it is really poor management because when you as customer pay for a expensive overnight with a 5 meals you expect to get something out of your... More

This Castle Hotel scores very high on atmosphere and the feeling of being in a castle, almost a private home. No "made in China" armors or plastic things pretending to be old, it's the real thing all through. The surroundings are pretty, close to Fåborg Museum and the Ferry to Jutland/Germany. You have free access to the entire estate, and... More

I spent a weekend here with my husband and it was really nice. The room we had was a bit silly in terms of its decoration but it was comfortable enough with a nice bathroom. The multi-course dinner was memorably good. All of the service was friendly and kind. The grounds were lovely. There were many small frogs hopping all... More

We stayed one night in the castle, arriving on a Sunday. No receptionist, but we were attended by a young waiter. Rooms with no AC (of course), no black out curtains, slightly worn, smells like an old house in the room. The bathroom in one room (we had 2 rooms) were tiled, the other with vinyl floor covering. Showers only... More

We stayed for one night with our 2 children. We were able to stay in a large room and they set up 2 single beds for our kids. The room was spacious but as other posters have mentioned, the hotel is worn, needs updating and renovation. That said, the castle itself is super cool, we wandered around a bit and... More

My husband and I went for a weekend stay at Hvedholm Slot. It is located near the forest and lake at the Southern part of Funen. The rooms look romantic and authentic and are quite big but when you take a closer look they are very worn and it seems like they have not been renovated in time. The restaurant... More

Unlike many other so-called castle stays in Denmark this looks like a castle - both in appearance and interior. Definitely a stay you will appreciate. You can walk around and see the whole castle. The story begins in the Viking Age: Horne Land and the islands off was rich in game and belonged to the sprawling estates, as the crown... More

We stayed 6 people 2 adults, 4 kids in 2 rooms - One was a huge suite, both were very nice and the kids loved them... As well as the rest of the Castle, which was certainly worth exploring. The food and service was good - An altogether great experience.

Front desk service was cold at best. I didn't have Wifi in my room. My room tv only had three tv channels (got there after dark and didn't have anything to do). Room was clean and the grounds were cool. When you stay there explore the other rooms in the house. It is not a "castle" but more of a... More

We only visited for lunch, being in the district and finding it as a restaurant in the Points of Interest part of our TOMTOM. Being the end of the high season, there were very few guests there but the manager was happy to open the restaurant for us and assemble plates of meats and salads to help us on our... More
