Pool is a little small but it doesn’t get that busy so it’s not a huge issue. It’s literally a 30 second walk from the beach. Loads of supermarkets, restaurants and bars around. The next few towns along are not far and it’s a lovely, scenic walk with loads to do and see. Overall this hotel is in a great location.

Had an issue with the room booking but the staff sorted it straight away. The house keeping staff are really friendly.

Rooms are really nice and clean. The views from the balconies are stunning. The fridge in the room is really handy too! Rooms also have aircon and netting on the window so you can leave it open at night which was great.

Breakfast isn’t bad at all. Good selection of food to choose from.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. Good value and good location!

Stayed here for 1 night as a nice half way point between Split Airport and Split. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. The bed was very large and comfortable. The room was quiet. The breakfast had the necessities (omelettes, sausages, vegetable skewers, yogurt, fruits, smoothies, pastries, etc.). We were allowed to store our luggage on check out day as we waited for our transfer. We had no complaints - highly recommend.

Let me start by saying on the first night, I got engaged on our balcony at sunset!!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE SEA VIEW! I must give props to Iva at the front desk who helped us get around when our luggage didn't arrive from the states for two days!! The hotel is amazing and all the front desk and restaurant staff were so sweet.

We stayed one night before flying back to Paris. The hotel is clean and renovated recently, although without any charm (cold "hospital"). we had booked 2 rooms and encountered a problem on each one. The description of the deluxe room with balcony does not match the photos on the website (no sea view, and just access to a collective terrace on the side). The air conditioning of the suite (second bedroom) did not work (found at 1am). Impossible to sleep; 30° in the room. No feedback from the Pension whose reception service is provided by interns (sympathetic and sorry but without any ability to deal with problems)

Just spent 4 nights at Villa Zarko. It was our basis to explore the Split area.
The sea is just across calm road. The small swimming pool is just enough to cool down during hot summer days. The staff are very friendly and make all the efforts to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We regret our stay wasn't longer. We especially enjoyed having long breakfasts on the sea front terrace. Breakfast buffet isn't that large but it's fresh and tasteful. Staff proposes omelets and makes delicious coffee.
Our 4 bed room (107) was spacious with good airco, comfortable beds and a nice balcony with sea view (side). There's a mini bar in the room. There's an elevator.
We ate in the restaurant (on the terrace !). Food was delicious. The chef makes Croatian dishes with a creative touch. To try.
There's free parking in front of the hotel. WiFi works fine (although it was out of order for a complete day due to construction work nearby)
Points of attention:
If by car, Kastela roads are small and chaotic. Drive carefully. Our navigation system was challenged.
The hotel offers half board. Check with front desk to get more details on the offering.

We stayed at Villa Zarco for two nights at the end of our holiday to Croatia. We chose the Hotel due to its proximity to Split and the airport and what a good choice it turned out to be.
The Hotel is adjacent to a pebble beach with a view of the sea and adjacent property and is very clean and comfortable. The food served at breakfast and dinner was simple, freshly prepared and very good. However, Hrvoje (my apologies to him if I have spelt his name incorrectly) who covered front of house and also waited on table on a couple of occasions during our stay is the star of the show. His English is excellent, he is very knowledgable and witty with a good sence of humour. All the other staff we encountered were equally as helpfull and friendly. We had a great day trip out to Split via public transport, which turned out to be very simple following the info provided by Hrvoje. The Hotel more than than lives up to its star rating. We would happily return on our next trip to Croatia.

Nice clean hotel. Big rooms. On the water about 20 minutes from Split in more of a local neighborhood area. Not near public transportation so only stay if you have a car.

Hotel Villa Zarko is a reasonably priced hotel within easy reach of Trogir and Split. The peaceful location, away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist towns, made our stay. The staff are friendly, accommodating and willing to offer help and advice with booking excursions.

Checking in late afternoon on a Sunday was relatively simple. The deluxe room was spacious and amenities adequate. Although generally in good condition, the room was brought down by the dated bathroom.

It was quaint to be provided with sheets and blankets to make up our very comfortable beds. A minor issue was that the room had not been cleaned properly between stays and the floors were dirty. This wasn't really addressed even though we alerted the staff. No doubt this was a one off as I see there are many glowing reviews praising the cleanliness of the hotel.

Breakfast was good with a selection of cold meat, pastries, pancakes, fruit, cereals and yoghurts.

For meals out there are a handful of nice restaurants within 15 minutes walk - our favourites were Hotel Stacija and Pizzeria Laguna.

All in all, I had a pleasant stay and found Kastela to be a great base. Villa Zarko has a good feel to it. The lovely pool and proximity to the beach were both major positives.

I know that there are plans to refurbish the bathrooms so this will make the property more comfortable. It may not be the a 4* as promoted by some online booking sites, including Expedia, but it could so easily aspire to this rating with a little more attention to detail.

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Zarko, May 2017. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate our needs. No matter the time.

The hotel has a breath taking view, only minutes from Split. I'm solo glad I didn't stay in Split and chose Hotel Zarko.

Hi George, We got an uber from the airport, it was so cheap - around £7 - and we were at the hotel within ten mins. There are shuttles and plenty of taxis outside, but uber was cheapest and quickest by far. Enjoy your trip!
Answer from Wandering_Aengus

While cheap, any public transport would involve a considerable walk from the nearest bus stop. We ordered a taxi through the hotel, which cost about 150 Kuna (around 20 Euro). Getting a taxi on spec at the airport may be slightly more expensive.

From what I remember, you can use just their currency, but there are many exchange offices where you can change any type in their currency.
