As far as I could work out, the only difference between the "ordinary" breakfast and the "mega" breakfast on the all day bar menu was a single mushroom and a slice of bacon. Oh, and a £2.00 price tag! And unless you ask for it, you will not be given the cup of coffee/tea advertised as included in the price.... More

First time visit en route to Gloucestershire. We had excellent fish (whale sized) and chips and chicken caeser salad washed down with a well kept Butcombe bitter. Friendly staff. We had a walk around lovely Beckingham village afterwards - worth a look at Beckingham castle.

This is an AA 4 star Inn - not sure what the criteria is but this is a bit tatty. It could do with a really good clean - especially the bannisters down from the first floor! The staff were friendly and helpful with the exception of the lady who served breakfast - we got down around 10ish on our... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I will pass on your message regarding the cleaning issues onto our cleaners so we can sort out the issue with bannisters. I'm very sorry that you found the staff memeber on breakfast to be difficult, however breakfast is served from 7-10 on weekdays, and 8-10 on the weekends, this should of been... More

Lovely lunch at a very reasonable price. The ham egg & chips at £4:99 was very nice Good to see plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Nice to have a pub that welcomes people who are not necessarily eating but would like a local beer. Will visit again soon. Martin

Our double room and en suite were OK and clean (although the paint was peeling off the windows and they wouldnt open properly) but others in our party felt there rooms were too small for the money. True the room was only just about large enough but the breakfast was enjoyable- whether the price of £95 for a Saturday night... More

A really nice pub in a very pretty village. We were staying in a hotel near by and ended up in the pub for dinner twice. The staff seemed very friendly, nice choice on the menu, and tasty food. Would recommend for dinner if you are in the area. There are also rooms if you need somewhere to stay, but... More

Lovely room in attic spoiled by the radiators being left on full in a sealed room. We arrived at 11pm to find all the radiators on full on a mild evening Despite turning off the rads immediately and opening the one window we were hot all night. I even got up to turn off the radiators downstairs . Apart from... More

If we have to choose between a chain hotel and a period property with character, we always choose the later. The Woolpack Inn did not disappoint from that perspective. Leaving London on the Friday evening of a bank holiday weekend is always a challenge, but our journey took us much longer than planned. Knowing that we were going to be... More
