Detailed Reviews
Our 5 stars go to Harald, Ann, Erik, Jason & Julie at KabeeLo'
They took care of Us and made sure we had a great time.
A couple of Elk hunters from Colorado booked our 1st ever Moose hunt with KaBeeLo. We harvested a cow Moose and caught over 65 fish not even really trying to catch a fish! Walleyes 16" to 24"- Northerns 18" to 28". Largest were released.
We followed the rules & protocol & crossed into Canada with No issues!
Upon arriving we received Immediate pre-hunt Information from Harald during supper at the lodge. Then Pilot Erik flew use in and around our remote lake Bertha with More valuable pre hunt information. We really never felt the landing Erik! Your A very good bush pilot; we felt safe. They set us up for 8 days with Plentiful Pork & Beef steaks, bacon, lunch meats, etc. Delicious pre- made ready to heat stews; That was appreciated after a long day on the lake. Unbelievable Beautiful area! After 50 years they Obviously know how to run these type Adventures! Have a Prosperous new year ahead and Congratulations Lohn's . All the best'

Our crew which has ranged form 6 to 8 people has been visiting KaBeeLo Lodge since 1989. It's hard to know where to start with a place and people we've grown to love so much. The accommodations are first class all the way...and they've even spoiled us with hot and cold running water and solar battery powered lighting. The fishing has always been out of this world both in numbers of fish and the size of the fish. Walleyes have always been our species of choice but we've had some great northern fishing as well. Beyond the great accommodations and fabulous fishing it's the people of KaBeeLo (Harald and Ann, and now additionally Erik and Alysson, and the entire KaBeeLo Staff) have made all our trips there very special with their attention to detail ensuring that our every trip is a great and memorable one.

All the staff is courteous and helpful and makes your stay great. Fly In's are pricey but this one is well worth it. We've always caught our limit of fish and had a great time. Their outpost cabins are comfortable and usually the only one on the lake.

Booked a once in a lifetime moose hunt for me and my dad. For the price I paid I was expecting an unforgettable trip. Well... I guess that’s what I got! To start... four boxes of potatoes and onions, one hot dog, one bun, one hamburger per person (including our guide) each day. Diet? Oh and now onto our “guide”... who was not a guide. Drove us around in a boat looking for moose, and trying to get us to shoot moose from the boat (illegal). Dropping us off and leaving us alone so he could go fishing and drink all our alcohol back at the cabin, as well as take naps! There actually came a time when we thought he had left us and wasn’t going to return. After a shot, guide never helped look for the moose. Long story short... after arriving back at camp and voicing our complaints to the owners we were told that we should receive a refund for all the problems we encountered. However, after returning to the states and contacting the owner again the owner made it sound like all the problems were our fault and I received no refund.

I recently returned from my 3rd annual trip to Kabeelo Lodge. This place has it all! You can stay and fish right from the lodge, or you can do a fly out trip to one of their many fully stocked remote cabins. The fishing has always been great. Even if you don't manage to catch fish (not going to happen) Kabeelo stocks your cabin with plenty of food to eat. What I love the most about going to Kabeelo is the family atmosphere. It truly is a family business, and as a guest, you are treated like a member of the Lohn's family. I plan of visiting Kabeelo every year for many years to come.

KaBeeLo Lodge ihas the nicest people I have ever met. They act as if you are the only there and their whole job is to see that you are well taken care of and fed. The Northern nd Lake Trout fishing on Confederation Lake is beyond excellent. I have landed a 52" Northern and 28" Lakey plus many more smaller ones. I anticipate coming back every year. I have been there every year for the past 10 years.

My family and I have been going to KaBeelo Lodge for over 35 years and the improvement in service, amenities and equipment has been wonderful. The new cabins all now have indoor showers and no longer have leaks that allow mosquitoes and critters to share the space. The boats and motors all work great. The only thing that has remained the same is the fishing. It is still unbelievable! Harald, Ann, and now their son Erik and daughter in law are the best hosts you can imagine. We now have had three generations travelling to KaBeelo and within the next couple years we hope to bring our grandkids and the 4th generation. The wilderness experience of the remote lake, the fishing, the other wildlife, the call of the loons, the vast skies, and if lucky, the Northern Lights, cannot be beat anywhere. If you want to visit the wilderness with some comfort, fly out of KaBeelo Lodge to an outpost lake and you will not be disappointed. We are planning a trip for this August and look forward to another week in paradise.

Fishing was wonderful, but I must say the Lohn family puts everything over the top with first class service. On our first trip I felt like the family and staff were all old friends. We stayed in a cottage before flying out the next morning. Simply delightful and the food was great. Eight of us were in the only cabin on the lake with all the comforts of home. A hot shower and fire in the stove really was a welcomed gift after an afternoon of fishing in the July rain and wind. The night sky was magical. We always caught our limit of fish, and enjoyed fish with every meal. Upon returning to the lodge, our vehicles were parked close by and the staff packed us up while we had breakfast. Our group immediately booked a return trip for next year. Once home, I thought about the experience and gave Harald a call to make a second reservation for the following year. Make the trip, you will not be disappointed, and will have the experience of a lifetime at KaBeeLo.

We've been to KaBeeLo since 1981 and have never ever been disappointed. The quality of fishing is absolutely amazing...bar none! On top of the fishing, there are the wonderful accommodations both at the main lodge and the outposts. Outposts are equipped with everything you could possibly need to ensure that your stay is first class all the way. The Lohn family excels in making you feel welcome and the KaBeeLo crew spoils you from start to finish. Enough said... make your reservations today... you will NOT be disappointed. This year was Perrigo Lake outpost with all of the golden walleyes you can catch.

Our inaugural trip to Kabeelo this last July was nothing short of awesome. They took care of us from the moment we drove onto the property. The breakfast was outstanding, the people are outstanding, everything was better than advertised. Big thanks to the entire Lohn family, friends and other employees for making our vacation A+

I would pick Sept as a month as bugs are usually gone by then and the weather is cooler which makes for good northern fishing as a rule. Some lakes are better for northern than others but the lodge can give you that info. From experience I can tell you that bugs can ruin a trip so the time of year is a big issue. Sept is a gorgeous time as there are not as many people due to school being back in full swing. Good luck and I hope your husband has a great time. Any wife who buys a husband a fishing trip is one great wife.
