Stayed here as a couple for three nights in March. Hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's just outside Reykjavik (about 25 minutes on the bus) but this didn't cause us any problems as most of the tour operators will collect you from the hotel. Breakfast was ample, lots of choice and easily set...

I would definitely recommend this hotel as your base while in Iceland. Simple but clean rooms, very helpful staff and a very good selection for breakfast. The hotel itself if located within a business park but don't let this put you off. Iceland's largest shopping centre just a few hundred meters away.

Nice little hotel outside of Reykjavik. Had a great breakfast buffet. Best to have a car for transportation. Large mall about three blocks away. Hotel reception will arrange tours for you. Staff very accommodating.

Excellent clean and has very friendly staff. The buffet breakfast offers all options, hot and cold. Not much around but great bus service near by. Pillows poor but we're happy to give us more to make usable.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Was excellent hotel free WiFi, rooms were lovely size and very clean. The whole hotel it's self was very clean too. Spent 3 nights in Hotel Smari and found the hotel and staff to be excellent. The hotel manager Stefan runs a great hotel along with his team. The staff can not do enough to help you weather it be through means of assisting you with excursions or making sure you have everything you need in your room. Wide variety of...

This maybe a small hotel but it packs lots in..... very helpful staff that are always willing to make your stay the best possible. The breakfast was of a wide variety, and to die for as it sets you up for the rest of the day ready to see the sights of Iceland 🇮🇸.

Well what a beautiful hotel this is! Due to all the hotels in Reykjavik being fully booked, we found after searching a bit further out the Hotel Smari. ABOUT THE HOTEL The staff are amazing, who are also really friendly. The rooms are fine and clean have a flat screen tv, with tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast catered for everyone and...

The hotel is just outside of Reykjavik and was selected by the English travel agency that we booked the trip with. This is my first time to Iceland. I could not ask for more from a travel hotel. It's true it is not close to Reykjavik and takes a good half hour by bus number 2 into town. However, the...

At first it seems Smari is a little way out of the centre but as most trips organise a pick up and the buses run regularly, it was not a problem. Taxis are very expensive - around £45 into the centre. There is a small shopping centre very close which incorporates a supermarket.
