Located in the Cilento National park and directly on the beach. You will live immersed totally in the mediterranean "macchia": completely invisible from sky, earth and sea. Last inhabited place before the Marine protected area Coast of Infreschi and Masseta. If you are looking for: loud music and an intense nigthlife; a sandy beach with rows of parasols; hotel-like services with spacious accomodations, La Francesca is not for you, especially if you do not like living in a wood rich in flora and fauna. Instead, we can offer you: quiet and silence for a relaxing holiday in a natural environment; the sea within walking distance with a fine gravel beach; accomodation in rigid tents or basic but comfortable rooms; prompt attention to your requests.

A magical place where you can get in touch with nature and establish an empathetic relationship with it, the squirrels keep you company but are never invasive, the olive trees shade all the houses that despite being dated manage to ensure the necessary comfort are equipped with the essentials and allow livability the wonderful sea gives every day emotions, colors and different scents and is extraordinary proximity (there are two equipped beaches). We arrived by train and from Policastro station we were accompanied by a taxi, but for those arriving by car parking is guaranteed, it is great for children who can move independently in a safe environment. But pure magic what makes Francesca Sud different is definitely all the staff who give this place the added value of having to boast 5 star hospitality with Salvatore and Maria, excellent services with Luisa, Carla and Chef Franco with all the guys who alternate with them and collaborate between restaurant and marcket (what you do not see you can ask and book). On the beach never misses the tireless Antonio who with his eye watches over everything and especially children never out of place and always polite. The houses despite being dated always well cleaned thanks to the maintenance of all employees. Only suggestion to improve the mattresses of the lofts those should be changed. A unique experience that I hope we will do again soon.

I was in this village again last year; this year the Restaurant - run by new people - was fully up to what you could wish for: typical local dishes, plentiful, at fair prices, which evoked the scents and flavors of the territory, and not like last year when they offered more "international" dishes anonymous and uncoupled from any local context. Even the bar - unlike last year - rose to the occasion and above all offered a time WORTHY of a village and not with dropper hours as last year. The Market has also been able to offer a greater range of items and a better time. In short, the negative points of last year have been largely overcome. For the rest what to say: I really like a place like this: there is everything you need x a 360-degree marine holiday, without unnecessary frills or frills; staff always available and friendly, from the Staff of the restaurant, bar, market to the super-lifeguard, from Reception to the various maintainers. In short, if it continues along this line, definitely to return. Only suggestion: on days when the Restaurant is expected to have a greater turnout in the evening, add an extra person to the tables and perhaps in the kitchen.

It was a decidedly positive experience, the environment and the beaches are incredibly beautiful, the "tent" essential but comfortable with well-designed spaces, full of shelves and a very comfortable wardrobe. The staff at the reception, Maria and Salvatore, were kind and humane which alone makes the place worthwhile. We found the same positivity in the lifeguard Antonio, helpful and attentive. The restaurant is also excellent for the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff. We are so satisfied that we overlook the disturbance to sleep on some nights caused by the exaggerated and unacceptable volume of a place located in the lower part of the town. I really hope that the management will intervene to solve this problem which ruins the serenity of this earthly paradise. I would suggest the need to add mosquito nets to all windows.

Our family spent the first two of August 2016 here and had a delightful time. Our little boys (7 and 4 years old) adored it and I don't think my wife and I have had such a relaxing holiday. It's not cheap, but what you get is worth it--easy access to three private beaches that will all take your breath away.
The second beach in particular, which is about a 10 minute walk from the bungalows, is just stunning. Crystal clear water that's chalk full of fish and not too deep, basically a huge, natural swimming pool ensconced in a rocky alcove with a medieval tower perched at the top.
The bungalows are a little rustic, it's true. But they have everything you need and we were very comfortable--even my wife who is by no means a "bungalow" person and was super reticent about the place before we arrived. The whole place is under a canopy of trees and vegetation that keeps it nice and cool all day long. Paired with the breeze blows more or constantly from the sea, the bungalows are nice and cool all day long.
I highly recommend getting the "mezza pensione" for adults. The food is excellent, they always have vegetarian options and there's a good menu for kids as well. Don't get the mezza pensione for kids younger than 10-11--it's more food than they can eat.
I also highly recommend going on the excursions. The "Cilento" is an amazing part of Italy and the national park which surrounds the place is well worth exploring.
The people who worked their were lovely and really made us felt at home, especially the kids who were more or less running around on their own by day two.
It's also right next Scario, which is a charming little beach town. To get there, you can call a car that will take you to Scario and then back to La Francesca whenever you want for a flat fee of 10 euros.
Anyway, went on longer than I intended, but if you're looking for a typically Italian beach holiday in a totally unique setting, you can't stop looking now. This is it.

Back after a few years we immediately felt at home. Surrounded by nature a stone's throw from a wonderful sea. Bungalows, as many have said, are a bit dated and need maintenance but everything around them makes you forget everything. This year at the restaurant of Resort La Francesca we found the new chef Franco Carbone who prepared us dishes (almost always based on fish) well cooked and abundant. Lovely Simona and Christian room staff and as always Maria and Salvatore incomparable in welcoming and pampering us. Hoping to see you again soon and much longer we embrace you all Serena and Maurizio

I never write negative reviews but I have to make an exception to this rule of mine due to the behavior of the owner of the property, Mrs. Giovanna, which I report just below, on the last day of the holiday.
I booked in July for the holiday from 8 to 16 September and not having a car, the presence of the restaurant inside the village was essential for us (me and a friend whose presence I had communicated in the meantime). In fact, the village is located isolated inside a forest about 4 km from the town of Scario with which it is connected by a very rough road. A second route to the town, near the sea and much shorter, has been inaccessible for some time due to a landslide.
Unfortunately, when we arrived on site on Friday 8 September we were informed that the restaurant had been closed *since the end of August*, and that the bar and market closed at 2pm: given that we didn't even have a biscuit with us, this could quickly become a problem , but Mr. Salvatore, very appropriately and given our difficulty, offered us to move to a room with a kitchen so that we could cope with the lack of the restaurant even in the following days. He also gave us the telephone number of the taxi driver Mario which later proved to be decisive for the rest of the holiday, to be able to get to the village for dinner and not get stuck in the village, obviously at our expense. On the last day I then proceeded to pay for an additional day and half of the difference requested later for the room with kitchen, given that we had not been told that there would be an increase in cost.
I want to say in fairness that the nature is stupendous and the beach magnificent: the people present on site for the management (Antonio, Maria, Chiara, Michela, Salvatore) are friendly and helpful, a real asset for this structure, and we thank them for making our stay was very pleasant and relaxing, the break we were looking for after a troubled period with family and at work.
Unfortunately, however, on our way up from the beach on the last day of the holiday, we had an encounter which left us feeling shocked and sincerely angry: Mrs Giovanna, the owner of the property, without either saying hello or introducing herself, told us addressed us to his companion, treating us like freeloaders, saying "Here are the ladies who asked for discounts and also had their rooms changed."
Rather astonished, I replied that I had simply taken advantage of the discount they offered in the radio adverts ("discounts for RadioPopolare listeners"), but then the lady accused me of not having wanted to pay for the room with kitchen (see above) and to my response that the addition was not communicated in the first instance and we had spent on the taxi he literally said: "I am almost 70 years old and I have no problems going to town on foot!" well, good for her, but going 4 km in the woods at night is also not, as far as I'm concerned, and I don't think I have to justify myself. And again: "you can pass along the path next to the sea" (false, the path collapsed some time ago, and the lady couldn't help but know it), to conclude that the half board "had to be booked!" something that was not even mentioned in the emails we exchanged in the previous month and a half. I also find it hard to believe that an entire restaurant would have remained open for just two people (in the entire village I think we were less than a dozen), but the lady seemed to be sure of this and replied that otherwise "she would have screwed the restaurateur ". Not really a guarantee of being able to have dinner, in any case.
I hope for others to be useful information: the structure remains open until 30 September 2023, but I warn you that in addition to the restaurant already closed, on 17 September both the bar and the market closed. If you don't have a car available (with good suspension) to bring food from home or go to town, take this into account.

Fairytale beaches, but for the rest of the bungalow structure, very dirty, including cobwebs and ants everywhere, dirty showers and bathrooms, including bed sheets, and no supplies. Very expensive market, AND I SINCERELY PAY 150 EUROS PER NIGHT FOR 3 DAYS WITH THE WHOLE 9 EUROS OF DAILY TAXES FOR WHICH I HAD NO AVAILABILITY INSIDE.. I'M SORRY BUT WE WILL NOT RETURN ANYMORE. AND I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
