Dear ssiegel17, It was wonderful to have you here and we thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for others to see how you felt about your stay. We designed and furnished Casa Moricciani to be as a complete as possible so that people would really feel like that are in a fully-furnished home instead of a vacation stay, with only the basics provided. As for making it a home base—we think you are absolutely right—Castelmuzio is a tiny, beautiful village that is not known by many, but it is oh so convenient to everything in the Val d’Orcia region—which we think is one of the most beautiful areas in the world. We hope to see you again one day if you should ever return to our area. Thank you again for your posting. Isabella

This was our second time staying at Casa Moricciani and it was just as wonderful as the first. (And once again I find myself leaving a criminally late review, despite the fond memories still present a full year after our trip.) We visited with my parents this time, celebrating a milestone anniversary, and they were blown away by the detail and care put into the entire experience. I can’t say enough good things about Isabella, Carlos, Luciano, Carlotta, Giancarlo, Marta and Sabrina – they made it a week to remember, all of them so friendly and hospitable. Once again, a highlight of the week was our private dinner with Chef Giancarlo, who is an absolute delight and has the culinary skills to match. My partner and my father also had rave reviews for Carlos’s sunrise hike. The entire week was filled with experiences like this, allowing us to live the quintessential Tuscan-countryside fantasy. It was a true pleasure for me to share this magical place with my parents, and I hope I’m fortunate enough to return again someday.

Dear ehm_ca, It is always helpful to us to receive reviews, and we thank you for taking the time to write and post this one. I've made certain that everyone here has seen your kind words about them and their hospitality. It means so much to each one of us. You mentioned in particular the delightful dinner prepared by Chef Giancarlo--and so I want to let you know that he will be our in-house chef beginning this season (2019) at our new property, called La Moscadella. We are so excited about this new adventure--and extremely pleased to have him as our chef in our restaurant. We feel honored to have had you for a second time at Casa Moricciani--thank you for trusting us again and for making it possible for us to know your parents. We send warmest greetings to all of you, and hope that someday we'll be able to see you again. Isabella and Carlo

In late July 2018, my wife and I, along with our daughter, son-in-law and our two "youngish" grandchildren spent a wonderful week at Casa Moricciani to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We filled up the four available suites. We were seeking a quiet, comfortable base from which to explore southern Tuscany. Casa Moricciani exceeded all our expectations. The Casa was very comfortable for our party of 6. Each adult couple had a separate bedroom with en suite bath and the 2 grandchildren also had separate rooms with baths. In addition, the large kitchen and living room, to say nothing of the outdoor seating areas, provided ample space for all of us to sit together or spread out for moments of quiet solitude. We chose the La Dolce Vita package and when we arrived the dining table was covered by baskets of fresh fruits, pastries, nuts - you name it. And to top it off, each morning of our stay, the "breakfast fairy" brought special treats early in the morning like pastries, frittata, panna cotta. These were enjoyed by all of us. It was very hot during our stay and the plunge pool was a popular spot for cooling off in the afternoons after the day's outings. The air conditioning kept us all refreshed and even sleeping on the upper floor was comfortable. The "southern" view from the Casa's yard is stunning, providing a panoramic sweep from Montepulciano to Pienza to Montalcino. The view encompassed rolling hills, fields of cut hay, olive groves, vineyards, hilltop cities, and far off mountains. It was so perfect it could have been a landscape painted by a master. Earlier I mentioned quiet. Castelmuzio is a small village and although we drove through the narrow gate and street to reach the Casa and unload our luggage, there was very little auto traffic the remainder of the week. At times, it was so quiet, I wondered if there were any other inhabitants. But a trip up the street to Locanda restaurant (good, inexpensive food) invariably showed that there was life in Castelmuzio after all. Our hosts, Isabella and Carlo were wonderful (we suspect Carlo was the breakfast fairy) and guides and helpers Carlotta and Marta were knowledgeable and easy to work with. Sabrina kept the Casa spotless. We did many of the tours and activities suggested by Isabella and enjoyed them (and I must say that Isabella does a fantastic job of organizing the daily activities and providing special travel instructions to other areas to visit), and we also did our own exploring (and sometimes got lost). But we were always reassured when we returned to the quiet, cool Casa Moriccani. This was an absolutely wonderful visit and we now have to plan a return trip.

Dear billgrayny, It was such fun to have you and your family stay with us this past summer. We are so happy that you found the village of Castelmuzio to be a wonderful place to stay--it has its quaint and authentic village life, but also peace and quiet, and good food--with a location so near to many iconic landscapes of Tuscany. The plunge pool does indeed make a summer stay so enjoyable. We are opening up a new property just down the street, on the outskirts of the village, where the countryside meets the village--it is called La Moscadella. It will be the perfect place for you and anyone wanting a swimming pool to enjoy during the summer months. Depending on who might be with you for your next trip to Tuscany, you might enjoy it! La Moscadella has a restaurant onsite, for daily delicious breakfasts, and outstanding cuisine for dinner meals, prepared by Chef Giancarlo. Thank you for coming and also thank you so much for taking the time to write and post your beautiful review. We look forward to seeing you again! Isabella and Carlo

We just completed our second stay with Isabella and Carlo. The first trip was fantastic and we were did not think it could be that good again. It was better. The concierge service that Isabella provides is the best we have ever had. Thanks for making is feel as part of your family, and your community. We love you and we love Tuscany.

This was our second time staying at Casa Moricciani, and it was every bit as magical as the last time. Every sunrise and sunset in Castelmuzio was like out of a dream, and the level of service and amenities offered by the Moricciani family is second to none. Staying for the first time in Primo Mobile, this is a property that is both the height of luxury yet retaining all of the Tuscan charm you could hope for. What really makes this stay so special is that they've captured lightning in a bottle with the people involved. Luciano the farm patriarch and his affable demeanor, Isabella's impeccable sense of style and taste infusing every inch of the property, Carlo and his boundless energy behind the scenes to make this all happen. And of course Carlotta, Marta, and Sabrina - this is a team without peer! I guarantee this would be an experience that no one could ever forget. They have somehow consistently manufactured magic, and we are incredibly lucky to be able to share this experience.

Dear AaronZOOM, Your review is so wonderfully written, with such creative descriptions--we love the phrase "they've captured lightning in a bottle"! We could not be happier than to know that you were as happy with your second visit as you were with your first. We think that meaningful travel must include a great combination of delights--a great place, an interesting culture, fantastic food, beautiful surroundings, and then, if one has the chance to meet the people who live there, and you experience a bit of "real life", it gives the travel experience a sense of "grounding"--a feeling of the roots of the people in that place, and that for a little bit of time, become yours, too. Thank you so much for coming back, and also for posting your beautiful words. Grazie mille, Isabella and Carlo
