Confy Guesthouse was much larger than I had expected. The owner sent me an e-mail with instructions for self check-in and everything worked out perfectly. I never saw any staff during my stay, but all the information I needed was available in the hallway and I just left my key in the room when I checked out. The room and the showers were clean, and the kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. I enjoyed my two nights' stay. If you are planning to stay in the area and have a car, Comfy Guesthouse is good value for money.
My cousins and I have visited Iceland several times and decided to check out the West Fjords. We stayed at the Comfy Guesthouse which is a self check in hotel. Our host was very helpful and friendly and let us know that we could use the kitchen ourselves as we pleased. There was some miscommunication from Orbitz where it stated breakfast was complimentary. Our host made sure to reach out to us before we checked in and offered free cancellation within a reasonable time if we were unhappy due to that miscommunication. The room was the clean and so were the shared showers. There was also happy reviews amongst the walls when you first walk into the hotel. My only request would be to have easier access to additional towels or additional towels already given to you at time of check in. Everything else was great and also a great location. An easy drive to Isafjodor with a nifty tunnel to drive in.…
If you look for ok, cheap place to stay in Westfjords, Iceland, this place is for you. It's nothing special, but it's ok clean and you can sleep there well. However, this website told us there will be breakfast, but there isn't. NO BREAKFAST! After booking the owner called me and told about the breakfast, and that he will pay me something back because of it, but I'm not really trusting I'm ever gonna get the money. There were kitchen facilities and because we knew beforehand they aren't gonna serve anything, we bought some breakfast with us from Ísafjörður. I don't know who was supposed to clean the kitchen, because it was full of dirty dishes. It wasn't very nice.
My daughter and I had a night stay. The place smells moldy. The kitchen sink was filled with a pile of dirty dishes. The staffs (3 teenage girls) were chatting, laughing and eating in the kitchen The whole afternoon and evening while we were there. When they were asked how to operate the TV(which was broken), they didn’t bother to respond. The worst thing was that there was no towel. They told me the dryer was broken.
I booked a 2 night stay for the end of a sail skiing trip. Before I left for my trip I emailed them and tried to phone to sort out the 25km transfer from and to Isafjordur airport. No reply. Emailed again. No reply. It was a busy weekend with a cross country ski competition so I needed their help. No reply. So I cancelled the booking a week before. Then I got a reply to tell me they would charge me in full, and had already taken the money from my credit card. They also said to contact them to sort a transfer. I emailed again, but guess what - no reply. Thankfully I was able to find another place to stay otherwise I would have been on the street for 2 nights. Really not good. Avoid.
