Basic room, but comfortable. No restaurant this summer as no chef, just the coffee shop / bar trying to cover with basic menu of 2 or 3 items , not real evening meals. No room cleaning or service but guests do get coffee or tea in cafe.

"Great guide, great eats, great history lesson" This whole town is so richly rooted into the fisherman lifestyle that having this tour here only makes sense. We had a "surfer dude" guide from spain who was amazing at keeping everyone laughing and entertained without missing any of the informative pit stops along the trail. We had some dried fish (kind of like jerky), fish cakes, and a sort of potato and fish mash which were all delicious! Left the tour full of knowledge and delicious eats!

I have stayed two times at the Fisherman hotel and is is a very good choice. The rooms are big and tasteful in a modest way. The staff is friendly and helpful and they have a nice coffee shop and a restaurant with the freshest fish you can get. The breakfast is also very good. Fisherman gets my full recommendation.

Excellent breakfast, super friendly staff and good food at the bar. We had a room with shared bathroom, but luckily no one stayed with us. Husband and I really enjoyed it here, Mountain View room very quiet.

This wonderful spot is three things and should be reviewed as such. 1. The restaurant is absolutely terrific. Trout appetizer very fresh and light. The fish tongues were exquisite, hot and perfectly prepared — the chefs attention to detail is notable. The food rivals our favorite restaurant on the upper West Side of Manhattan. Seriously. This place is very good. 2. The café across the street has nice quick food and a two for one happy hour from 5 to 7. The people are extremely friendly and it’s a great place to relax. 3. Hotel room was very large and very comfortable. It is bright and fresh, a large bedroom and a little room with tv, coffee and tea fixings, table and chairs. A large bathroom with views of the hills beyond and gardens of the little village. Don’t understand the negative reviews. We had a great time here in Suðureyri, and terrific food.
