An amazing stay at Hunger Hill Yurts. They are so gorgeous and set in the most spectacular location. Myself, husband and 2 young children had a fabulous time in the orchard yurt and exploring the beaches nearby. Chris the owner is so lovely and makes your feel so welcome. The yurts and beautifully furnished and the kitchen is excellent with... More

We returned (again!) to Hunger Hill Yurt Camp (please see my previous reviews for details on the facilities at the site - nothing has changed to the layout/set up/extremely high standards of cleanliness & so lovely to spend time with Bess the dog & new puppy, Pip!). We recruited some new yurtees to the wonderful world of yurting! They were... More

So comfortable and welcoming, from the smiling welcome from Chris and Bess, to the final wave goodbye. We had everything we could want, the attention to detail, facilities and decor quietly organised so that we had nothing to do but relax and listen to the bird song. The fresh eggs were delicious, the hammocks divine. Stunning location, lovely people. Lots... More

Couldn't recommend more highly! We stayed as a group of friends in the Orchard yurt which is set in its own paddock. It was perfect, everything we needed was provided and the yurt, kitchen and bathroom were spotless. There was plenty of storage space to put our food safely away in the open kitchen. We did find it a little... More

I was lucky to find this little gem at the last minute and very glad I booked to stay here. The site itself is situated in a great location near to lots of places that are great for families and there are some good beaches near by too. The facilities were excellent with a kitchen area, nice clean shower and... More

Hunger hill Yurts are special and totally unique. Chris has put a lot of thought into the interior decoration of each yurt and the facilities offered. There are many additional special touches including vases or jugs of wild flowers in communal areas, hammocks to while away the time and even friendly, endearingly grunty, Kune pigs which are highly entertaining, especially... Stayed with our two kids, 6 & 3yrs. A pleasure for all of us. The yurt was very well appointed and the beds actually comfortable. Wood for the wood burners and open fires are provided and essentials like kindling, fresh farm eggs and preserves available to buy from the on-site honesty-jar shop. The shared kitchen had everything necessary so it... More

This being our 6th visit (since 2011), twice this year, to hunger hill, it is so lovely to return once again. Recently, we brought friends along, who enjoyed very much the facilities & surroundings hunger hill has to offer, making extremely positive comments regarding the cleanliness of the facilities, as well as the beautiful environment & value for money within... Just come back from our 3rd stay in the Orchard Yurt. It wasn't just as good as I remembered it was better. Chris thinks of everything to make your stay comfortable. The place is spotless and the location is convenient for the motorway yet feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. We had the continental breakfast (delivered with warm... More

I found out about Hunger Hill by chance via a link on Facebook. I was searching without successor somewhere peaceful near the seaside for some desperately needed "me time". The photos, simple write ups and personal recommendation from a friend made me decide to book. Everything about my stay was perfect. The view, the position in the field slightly apart... More
