We stayed here two nights as part of a group tour. We had lilac bungalow, which had more than everything we needed. All kitchen equipment, fridge, 8 beds in our room, hammock , table and chairs at the front. Two sinks and plugs to do the washing and line to hang it on. Air con and fan too.
I enjoyed staying here .Breakfast was help yourself and simple but good quality .The owners and staff ,including grandchildren were friendly and helpful .Nearby was a hotel with a swimming pool if you bought drinks . Rooms were clean with kitchenettes if required .
Stayed here as part of an intrepid trip. The accomodation is nice, clean. It is however a long way from town, 20mins. There is no food served so for breakfast and dinner it means a long walk! There are a couple of options closer but not for breakfast. There is also no Wi-Fi without buying a scratchcard from the owner. She said it was impossible for them to get Wi-Fi without spending a fortune (I mean its a hotel, just get the wifi) but then had a private Wi-Fi link. Felt like a rouse to get us to pay for Wi-Fi which is fine but jus6 admit it. It was all a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise it's ok. Personally I would stay closer to town.
Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour. So much nicer than expected. Spotlessly clean and situated perfectly between the 2 beaches in Santa Catalina. 10 minutes walk either way. Not overly impressed with the area but the hotel is perfectly fine.
We stayed here with Intrepid Travel's Amazing Central America Tour and found it to be perfectly comfortable - the beds are nice, the rooms are clean and each comes with its own kitchenette and fridge for cooking (a little like a hostel). Air con works well and wifi is patchy, but there is a communal area for socialising and it is located very close to the beach and a short walk to the small town attached. Our only criticism was that the rooms shared one shower and toilet hidden behind the property and at night this was found to be a little daunting.
The self contained rooms are in a good location as they are 10 min walk either way to Santa Catalina town or the swimming beach. The kitchen had everything required to make light meals. We were upstairs and the bathroom was shared with 3 other rooms. The WIFI did not work at all. The rooms downstairs have hammocks and there is a central outdoor sitting area. We also used and recommend Dive Coiba.
Very nice place to stay. Easy walk to the beach. I stayed in an efficiency that was spotless and had nice kitchen ware and decor. The owner is super nice and friendly. The only thing I didn't like was no bathroom or shower in my room. Some rooms have them. But some don't. But all good !!
We booked a private couples room to stay here, and after long journey from Boquete we turned up only to be told we had no reservation, despite having a confirmation email from hotels.com. The girl who was there seemed to have no idea what was going on, so rang who I assumed was the elusive 'Sherlley' who could only say that she never advertises with Hotels.com and offered little help. We had sent at least 2 emails over the previous days trying to confirm our reservation with no response. Thankfully we arrived earlier in the day else we could have been stuck in the darkness of Santa Catalina at the mercy of weird surfer types, but we managed to book a place at Ocean's Hostel (go stay there, they have free bikes). The cabins actually looked quite nice but due to our circumstances, their pastel, picturesque beauty only served as a tantalising reminder as to what might have been. …
I stayed here as part of an 11 person tour group. The cabins are all painted different pastel colours with matching bedroom (towels, linen) and kitchen (cups, plates etc) to boot. Each room had a kitchenette with cooking facilities and fridge etc which was great. On our last night, our group cooked in the big 6 dorm room and took all the plastic tables and chairs into the centre of the garden and ate there. Hammocks for lazing in during the heat of the day. Only slight downside is that for the room I was in (downstairs) the toilet & shower was out the back of the building and it was shared with not just other guests but the family also. This was really a problem for me and it was more that our tour guide didn't inform us of the situation. They had a clothes line out the back which also proved handy. They did seem to have a problem with the wifi. At first they gave us all a password for a network knowing that it didn't work. We later found out though our tourguide to use the other network but I don't know why it was treated as a state secret!…
My sister and I spent 4 nights at these cabanas. Very nice, very clean and well equipped. The only negative is the shower and toilet are a small distance from the rooms. We were there while some construction work was being done and the owner told the workmen to stop work when she realized we were sleeping late. Colour scheme is out there! Twin room we stayed in had mini kitchen and full size fridge. Super quiet area.
