Cute hotel with all you need. Comfortable rooms, a small store to buy beach essentials, great restaurant, and the best is that it has direct access to the beach. Everything on the restaurant menu is delicious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Has terraces and rooftop to hang out. The decor is of good taste and full of nature. First day , we went to an island near by for a few hours. Next day we went to Coiba for the day. Third day we chilled at the hotel and felt very comfortable just like home. Loved this place and would come back here in the future.
We got the room with a private balcony and it was gorgeous! The hotel also has lots of small open spaces with tables and chairs, which helps with keeping groups of people separate in COVID times, and avoids having everyone at the restaurant area. Staff are nice and the hammock at the balcony is the best. I was there for work and needed to wash gear, and having a hose and table on the balcony was really helpful. Will definitely be back in the future.
I booked directly via the hotels webpage, so they do not have to pay fees. But the place is run down and no one seems to care much about it. The fridges at the entrance are empty and off, doors closed (due to COVID 19?), the room was not cleaned- or even the trash taken out- once in 3 days. Remember- you should not throw toiletpaper in the toilet... The ‘terrace’ was under construction- but it looked like this it is since ages. Seats where dirty and broken. Staff was ok when asked directly- but no one was interested in your wellbeing. All of this for 79$ per night! Pity for the money. Nothing has to be perfect and keeping a place well directly at the ocean is difficult. But lack of interest for the guests and the property, lack of friendliness and helpfulness has nothing to do with this.…
Best nachos ever! Restaurant and bar with best view and beer choice Santa Catalina. Great music and it is open almost all day. Most restaurants open at 6;30 so it is a great choice if you need an early dinner. Direct access to the beach and easy crossing of estuary at low tide. High tide entertainment is watching cars on beach get trapped by high tide.
a beutufuily positioned hotel right on the beech with amazing views . the staff were really friendly and helpful.. the rooms comfortable and tidy with great shower .. good food .. felt very looked after ill be back
We thought the place was charming and the staff were great. Nice view of sunset. The river adds a nice touch if you are looking at birds. There are also some tiny crabs that seem like they are saluting with the large claw, funny stuff.
Common areas were a bit dirty. There is a sofa in the dinning room which is extremely dirty which could be a very nice place for a morning coffee. Even with that... I think is one of the best places to stay in Santa Catalina. Rooms are simple but clean and it has a nice view of the area
We loved Mama Ines! This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Panama! Everything was great! From the location to the breakfast, we had a wonderful time. We will definitely recommend it to everyone!
Everything about this place is sloppy, from the cleaning to the restaurant and bar to the beach. It’s run by a family with very little regard to customer service, yet this place has so much potential because of its location. The room wasn’t ready when we got here even though it was well after checkin time. The bathroom wasn’t clean, all the towels were falling apart, there was virtually no pressure in the shower, the room was small, at least the airco worked well. The wifi is pitiful... This hotel lives off the much-too-good reviews it has been getting for a long time, it should step up and meet those expectations for a change instead of being slobs.
The once surely beautiful object is the decay revealed. We had the completely worn room No.1, in which the large sliding door in the direction of the Pacific could not open, there was no hot water, it was very cramped and unfortunately was not clean. The staff was characterized neither during the check in nor during our stay by friendliness. The attached restaurant operation ensures a high through traffic of locals. The big plus of this accommodation is its location right on a surfer and child friendly beach. The hotel is, as already mentioned, in a horrible state, which can not be attributed to the rainy season, but lack of repair of the current operator. The spirit of Mama Ines has been here for a long time.
