Went for dinner today (Easter Sunday) Dinner was ok not much vegetables to choose from and I prefer fresh as to frozen. Deserts were lovely. Coffee was cold. Felt the tables could be upgraded or maybe a nice table cloth. Side plates were used for your cold starter and desert, felt that were much to small, food fell of all... More

Visited on Mother's Day and the wholesome, tasty food compensated for the long wait for a table, despite having made a booking. Management had overbooked but were apologetic and the very good value of the meal went a long way to soften the blow. The Huntinglodge is one of the few places left where you get delicious, no frills food... More

Such a beautiful hotel with lovely views. Beautiful fires and accommodating staff. Possibly under new management, this hotel has a fresh new atmosphere and was a delight to visit! New menu on offer and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of fresh dishes to choose from. Look forward to returning to this hotel with friends and family. Well done hunting lodge. Keep... More

Ignore the bad reviews. If you are looking for a rustic country bar with a friendly relaxed atmosphere, then this is the place to go. The back bar has an open fire and both food and drinks are very reasonable. There is good choice in the menu (although I would love to see the return of the chicken stir fry)... More

Stayed in the Hunting Lodge hotel with my partner. Could not fault anything about it. Owner was very pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent, probably one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

After visiting this rural hotel for what we thought was going to be a treat , all we got was an ill mannered middle aged man on a power trip .. After witnessing what wasn't short of staff abuse from him to a young female member of staff we just got up and left . After a few enquire's i'm... More

went here this evening with family expecting to get some rustic country food - instead what we got could only be described as "brock". The chilli prawn linguine dish - the prawns were not fresh & were a crimson colour, quite obviously had been cooked before and reheated. The chicken & bacon penne carbonara dish - having ate this dish... More
