Perfect b and b in an extremely pretty village. Matt..and of course Bob the collie...are perfect hosts..Matt is a fabulous cook too so I strongly recommend taking up the evening mealoption. Rooms are a good size, clean and quiet...and a stroll into the village for a beer takes two minutes..I stopped off there on my motorbike en route home and... More

We--my wife, two college-age daughters, and I--had just completed the standard exhausting flights from the States, rental car, then long drive from CDG (without benefit of GPS) when we finally arrived at Chaillac B&B. We found an oasis of quirky charm in a hidden gem of a village, managed by the high-energy and warm Matt Hill (and his dog, Bob).... More

I love staying with Matt and Bob at Chaillac Chamber D'hote. A good friends house is not ready for us to stay so we stay with Matt and Bob. They make us really welcome and Matt let's us make tea outside of meal times in the kitchen, which is so helpful. There is always plenty of hot water for the... More

My cousin and I visited the Dordogne region of France. We didn't want to drive straight through to Paris so we decided to stay here for one night. Our big mistake was not staying for more than one night. It was a wonderful home. Matt has tastefully decorated every room himself. He has wonderful items from all the countries he... More

We have stayed here a number of time overs the years and always received and warm welcome from both Matt & Bob. We've stayed in all the rooms and they are all lovely with very comfy beds. Matt's food is out of this world and he is a fabulous chef and you will not be disappointed.

Rarely have I enjoyed a stay anywhere as much as I did with Matt and Bob here in Chaillac. We had gorgeous rooms with comfy beds, glorious well appointed bathrooms and lots of additional comforts like being able to use the kitchen to make a cup of tea. I could also not help falling in love with Bob. He is... More

Matthew Hill and his faithful companion Bob made our first overnight stay on our journey through France a real joy. Matthew is an excellent cook whose 3 course dinner was a delicious treat. He is also widely travelled and happy to share his experiences with his guests. Our room was spotless, very comfortable and we had a very good nights... More

This is the second time we have stayed with Matthew and once again had a very good experience. His rooms are beautifully decorated and the ensuite bathrooms are perfect. As last year, we ate at Matthew's and enjoyed a lovely meal at an excellent price. Would certainly recommend the Chaillac B and B. It is just few minutes from the... More
