Sea and beaches are very contagious !!!
YOU WILL CATCH ROTAVIRUS STRAIGHT AWAY !!! You can even die from this desise !!
Suige from this hotel and all hotels around this area is going straight into the sea !!! VERY DIRTY AND CONTAGIOUS SAND AND WATER !!
Spoild my family holiday, we all got rotavirus including my 8months old son !
There are never any staff around, there may be a bar of some kind down the bottom end where there is a large pool, but we didn't see much evidence. You are let in the room via the gate keeper and you give the key to him when you leave. There is a reception, just! All the other hotels around have pool bars, places to eat, spa's, staff! supermarkets etc. We couldn't get in when we arrived at 4 am there was no key left for us and we had to eventualy, stay elsewhere. Just down the road at Sunny beach, there are multiple hotels of all varieties and then you wouldn't have to catch the bus home at nights. The bus is cheap, being 1 lev to ride to Sunny beach and they are every 12 mins.
I have visited Etara 2 twice before (and have just booked my third visit!) and have had a thoroughly enjoyable time with my family. The grounds are well kept, the apartments and common areas were very clean and the staff on site are extremely helpful.
In terms of the complex it is quiet so if you are looking for a busy, lively and bustling place to stay then this is not for you. But for those who want things a bit quieter in a great location then the Etara complex is excellent.
The Etara complex is currently made up of Etara 1, 2 & 3 and is mostly based on apartments that are privately owned and rented.
Depending on which apartment you rent you are either on the beach or at worse a five minute walk away. The Marina and main beach at St Vlas are a ten minute walk away but well worth taking the time to go to.
The main town is about 20 minutes walk from the complex but has numerous bars and restaurants. Prices are extremely competitive compared to the UK with a half litre of beer costing around £1.10 and the average meal costing around £30 for a family of 4 (including wine).
The complex has a lovely restaurant, two pools, a little shop and the Manager Theo, is always helpful.
It is quiet here but it's within easy walking distance to the town and the Marina, both gorgeous, have lovely restaurants and very well priced in the town.
The beach is lovely and if you want to explore, take the bus outside Etara 3 to Sunny Beach or Nessebar, only a couple of Lev and worth the visit. You could even get the boat over from the Marina and get a taxi back ( about 15 lev from Sunny Beach).
Overall condition of the complex is good, but be carefull chossing apartment for rent you may be caught by unreliable and very greedy property owner like us:
1. It seems that he brought all the old stuff from his apartment to the one we rented. Everything is so old, we had to buy:
frying pan, it was impossible to cook on the provided.
glasses, there were only 2 glasses.
2. All the linen was very old.
3. All the towels were SUPER old. Bought new.
4. All the electrical appliances were very old.
5. Mold everywhere in bathrooms.
6. Owner did not do proper cleaning before our arrival. Floor inder beds and sofas was super dirty with the dust from 2015 I think.
As per the contract: "Communal fees (electricity and water) are included into rental price". Property owner came to apartment for acceptance 3 hours before our flight and said he is not going to return the deposit we left, because we used much electricity.
Two weeks after our arrival Dishwasher broke and we informed owner about this asking to repair. No action done.
On the day we were departing owner tried to get some money from us for broken dishwasher.
Etara II is locatod on the hilltop, so if you love see, get ready for long exhausing walk.
To the owner: When somebody rents your apartment for 64 nights and paying you more that 4K EUR, please be so kind - go to IKEA, spend 150Eur, buy new towels, glasses and linen. No need to be so greedy.
To the potential renters: Please do not have any deals here with Konstantin or Veniamin.
