If you are coming to this little slice of Paradise please don’t go past this lovely B and B. Dianne and Martin are amazing hosts and there home is delightful. We were lucky enough to have the Tasman Room with a fantastic view out into the bay. Couldn’t think of a better and more welcoming place to rest our weary bones. Thanks guys - hope to see you down our neck of the woods sometime.

I cannot believe the review posted by locosfc! We have stayed here several times and only have words of praise for the accommodation, the hosts, the facilities, and the breakfast! Firstly Little Kaiteriteri beach is less than 5 minutes walk away - literally at the end of the street and a flat easy walk to an incredibly beautiful swimming beach. I wouldn't have thought someone who didn't like stairs would look for accommodation here as the photos show that the property is 2 storied. You are coming to a location which is famous for its beautiful walks & kayaking, so if you didn't like walking I don't know why you'd go the the Able Tasman! You definitely don't need a car as the main commercial area of Kaiteriteri is an easy 10 minute walk. The breakfasts provided are beautiful and Diane goes to a lot of trouble to serve fresh fruit, yoghurt, home made muesli, eggs if you would like them, and great coffee! Not to mention all the help she and Martin give their guests with bookings & local information. If locosfc thinks this is basic I wonder what he was expecting! Diane & Martin are great hosts, very professional and friendly, and I cannot imagine them telling anyone to go into their rooms and not come out! The kitchen and their outdoor area is their own private domain and no one should expect to invade their privacy as this guest obviously does. I can thoroughly recommend the Everton Bed & Breakfast to all travellers.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review and it's great to read that we are doing things right! We loved having you here to stay and you have got all your facts correct. We do put a lot of thought and effort into our breakfasts. The outdoor area is OK for guests to use, although sometimes we do have visitors. If guests want privacy we respect that, but if they need our help or to share a drink we often do this. We don't offer cooking facilities but all rooms have a fridge plus tea and coffee making facilities. Please come back any time for another stay.

Other than the place, Little Kaiteriteri , this is about how lovely Martin and Diane are. They were amazing, made you feel so welcome and their suggestions are worth following as to what to do. We had been to the area before but still found their ideas the most useful. A very big thank you to this lovely couple. Diane gave me a useful purse to keep my jewellery in one place, thank you! Will return I hope and stay with them. Don’t think about it, book before someone else.

We booked 2 rooms at a cost of $310 per night. Credit where credit is due. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Host Diane was helpful with information on where to eat and assisted with booking the Abel Tasman Water Taxi for us. The location of this property is 15 minute walking distance to the beach and Kaiteriteri where you will find 1 pub, 1 basic grocery store and 1 restaurant so the options are very limited. You really need a car to get about. There are a lot of stairs which you can not avoid (just like other guests have mentioned) so this is not an ideal place for people with some form of walking difficulty or bad knees. We found the breakfast supplied to be very basic to say the least. Maybe we were unlucky but all we got was coffee and tea toast, a couple of jams, small bowl of fruit with yogurt, basic muesli and 1 egg on request!. Now we have stayed in many B n B both in New Zealand all over the world and this was basic to say the least. Also, we were told that they had visitors and that it was best if we stayed in our room as it had a balcony and the kitchen area and their outdoor garden were a no go zone. Strange request. So we kind of felt like we were imposing so we just stayed in our room, door closed pretty much the whole time we were there it just felt odd . This for $310 per night. Something was amiss maybe the hosts were just a bit tired of hosting?

Firstly I would like to say thank you for taking the time to review our B&B. Secondly I have to say this is the most unfair and untrue review and totally surprising as we enjoyed having you to stay and had no indication anything was wrong. We do have stairs which is one of the reasons we have such great views from the bedrooms, plus Martin and I always offer to help with luggage. After 8 emails and 3 phone calls (including one from us to Australia) the room rates were clearly explained. The parents had the Tasman Room which has a balcony and 3 chairs and the daughter was in one of the other rooms (all with their own bathroom) at last year's single rate. We were told she had Coeliac Disease and I did everything I could to provide suitable breakfast, which included buying gluten free bread as requested, cooking the toast separately and eggs offered both mornings (guests did not have to request them) . There were 2 large bowls of fresh fruit salad for the 5 guests staying, espresso coffee, selection of teas, juice, homemade muesli marmalade and berry jam, and toast. We take pride in our breakfast content and presentation and hope guests will tell us if they have specific needs. Little Kaiteriteri Beach is 2 minutes walk and is 400 meters to the end of our street, and the main Kaiteriteri Beach is 10 mins (1 km) away. This is the time it takes us and we are in our sixties. At Kaiteriteri there are 2 restaurants, takeaway, large grocery store which also sells fresh lunches, icecreams, alcohol etc. We would NEVER ask guests to stay in their room. I am assuming we had our daughter and family here for dinner as they were visiting from Christchurch (5 hours away) and I was probably warning these guests it could be noisy! Their balcony is plenty big enough for the 3 of them. We are NOT tired of hosting and really love running the B&B. We have fabulous people staying and a review like the one above, which is so unjustified and cruel, really hurts. I have listened to what you have said.

Our last stop on our South Island tour and it was definitely a highlight. Not only is Kaiteriteri stunning but Everton B&B is fantastic. Hosts Diane and Martin are lovely and made us feel right at home. Our room was great, everything we needed and interaction with the other guests was just neat. Diane puts on a neat breaky as well. We really enjoyed our time with you and will return as well as recommend you to anyone travelling your way.
