We have stayed at Maison Quesnel many times both with car clubs and on our own and have always had a very comfortable stay. Hambye is a charming village and very well situated for touring the Contentin peninsular. Our recent visit was to watch 2 of the Tour De France stages at St Malo and Mont St Michel - both... More

There were 4 people in our party touring Normandy We arrived at Maison Quesnel on the Sunday evening following a visit to Pegasus bridge. We were warmly greeted by John and Lavinia Bevington, shown to our rooms and provided with tea and cake in the drawing room. John and Lavinia have been in France for over 20 years and know... More

We last visited about 4 years ago and because we had such a welcome (and help with a broken down classic car) we were very happy to stay at Maison Quesnel for an extended tour of Normandy. Our second visit was as enjoyable as the first. We were greeted warmly and given tea on our arrival. We had booked dinner... More

After our second visit to Maison Quesnel we look forward to our next one. Guests are welcomed as friends or family and the style of the place continues as a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Breakfast is excellent and should you order dinner then the quality of cooking is first class and is enjoyed in the dining hall with other guests... More

The house was fine, the room was OK, the whole place has recently been "modernised" though on a really low budget. The main problem was the awful hostess who consistently spoke down to us and attempted to indicate that she knew everything about everything. Avoid!

Recommended by syndicat d'initiative in Villedieu les Poêles. John and Lavinia Bevington extend a warm welcome to this elegant town house in Hambye. Excellent bedrooms which are nicely furnished, also a charming drawing room and dining hall for the use of the guests. At the rear of the property a very pretty garden awaits with views over the valley. Whilst... More

We stayed while driving from St Malo to Caen, just one night. But the hostess was very accomosating, an Englidh couple that had moved to France 20 years ealier. When we shoed up, Wimbeldon was on, and not only did she give us the latest scores, she made us a salad for a very resaonable price (normally she requests a... More
