This hotel is build around the trees on the top of a hill so from the village you can hardly see it. Trees grow through the hotel roof too. You can put on the airo but you can also let the wind go through your room when you let the front and back open. Nobody can enter your room but... More

Built on the top of a hill, next to the tiny (1,000 inhabitants) village of las Terrazas, hotel la Moka is a true charm. Surrounded by trees and with beautiful views, you will feel as if you are staying in the jungle. * The rooms are good: the beds were in good condition, the TV had many US channels, bathroom... More

We didn't know what to expect - and this is what we found: a rural eco community, a group of artists producing handicrafts, a hotel that has been built to fit in a sympathetic fashion into the environment and a rather good coffee shop (whic also sells coffee beans). The artist's shop was a bit disappointing (but that's down to... More

We were very lucky in that we seemed to get the room with the best location in the hotel. The beautifully clean room was airy and spacious and the setting among the tree tops was spectacular. We spend three nights here and it was a restful haven in an otherwise busy trip. We were content to stroll round the village,... More

Actually didn't stay at the hotel, we drove through from Viñales to Havana hoping to spend a few hours and hike. No one there gave us clear help and we knew we would need a guide. Restaurants are few and far between, scenery is pretty but nothing outstanding for national parks, no one seems to know about an artist colony,... More

I have definitely misunderstood the description of Las Terrazas on the Lonely Planet because I was expecting something else. I failed to spot the "eco-tourism" and "artist community" and only saw a tourist resort. It is a bit dated and both hotel and "village" need a bit of maintenance but the setting is gorgeous and the hotel building is very... More

Nice hotel in a picturesque setting and friendly staff. We stayed 2 nights in June and enjoyed some short walks around the lake and terraces, also a zip line for the more adventurous. Just need to check ahead though, we stayed the first weekend in June and what I expect would normally be a very quite setting, there was a... More

The amazing quietness combined with the sounds of nature are reasons for a unique experience at this hotel. The room was clean and very comfortable. In spite of a humid environment there were no visible signs of mold.Good job. The service was reasonable(we are not there yet) and the food up to standards considering the country and it's status. Exercise... More

This is a great location in the mountains away from the city. It's Cuba so don't expect your 5 star European standard. Great zip lining for around $35cuc, and the complex/resort has several great restaurants on the property and a short drive to the orchid gardens and waterfalls

This was the original resort hotel in the country, built by the state as an eco-tourism and community development project. It somewhat shows the affects of being a state enterprise (a bit dated, needing resources and some maintenance). It's an extremely interesting place in context and the original design/concept was admirable. Perhaps a bit faded glory but nowhere near the... More
