Very nice room (#208) overlooking the pool & countryside, comfortable beds, and very friendly staff. Downsides: very few staff in early October, so long waits for most anything, and the worst - very loud Muzak ("Moon River," "Feelings," "Lara's Theme from Dr. Zhivago," etc) throughout the hotel, and very loud '80's music at the pool - where I had to...

Alarcon is a very scenic and historic place. The hotel is located opposite of the majestic castle, which houses a parador hotel. Superb swimming pool (the only one in the village). A very good restaurant in walking distance, i highly recommend the menu for 18 € drinks included. The scenic village is located on a hill surrounded by a small...

I have to start by saying that the reception staff was very helpful. The village is charming and the surroundings are beautiful. However, the hotel is completely overpriced. The rooms are not bad but definitely not worth over 120 euros. The food is simply inedible. Even breakfast was unacceptable with no fresh products at all, juice from a tetra brick...

The view from the road to Alarcon looks like something from Lord of the Rings. A town built on a plateau surrounded by a river. Follow directions to the parador for this hotel. Alarcon is very much like Portmeirion in North Wales. Streets of stone built terraced cottages but most were locked up with padlocks and chains. We saw only...

A beautiful hotel in an absolutely stunning cliff-side setting, surrounded by magnificent old buildings, including a Parador in the castle next door. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room opened to a terrace with a memorable view and was lovely. We didn't eat there, but in the highly recommended Restaurante La Cabana where we had an excellent...

The setting is fabulous, Alarcon is worth a detour. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Good standard of freeby toiletries. Dinner & breakfast were delicious, not a vast choice but all fresh and well-cooked. Staff were really helpful and spoke good English. Would definitely go there again.

Arrived at this stunningly located hotel to be under whelmingly greeted by miserable staff , who managed to stay in the doldrums throughout our three day trip. I say staff, only two were ever present and communicated via walky talky, the experience of staying her was akin to being a ghost on the Mary Celeste Bar service non existent, particularly...

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Saga tour of the region . We think it's the first time they have welcomed a coach load at one go!! The staff where delightful, the rooms fine , the food was excellent and , once they had sussed out what was required of a group of pensioners who, when told...

We stayed at the Spa Villa de Alarcon because it is well situated for an overnight stop during the drive from Santander to southern Spain. The hotel is about 50 metres from the Parador and it is excellent value - quite a lot cheaper than the Parador. The reception staff were efficient and friendly, the room clean and well-appointed. The...

We booked this hotel after being disappointed by the room the Parador had set aside for us and we are glad we did. We liked our room and its view, the staff, and the breakfast served in a delightful dining room. The ineptitude of the Parador saved us major dollars and provided us with an unexpectedly delightful experience.
