A fantastic “Family Run” hotel very close to Mykonos town. From the moment we booked until the moment we left we were treated like VIPs. (Tip- By booking direct with the hotel you get a free return airport transfer which is very helpful indeed as Mykonos only has 31 Taxis) The biggest asset by far at this hotel and what really makes it is its “Staff”. Everyone wants to make sure you have the perfect holiday. They are Always checking on you and greeting you at every opportunity. They go out of their way to see to your every need. A few mentions of particular note: - Antigoni, (Reservations Manager) is one of the loveliest people we met. She was so helpful and prompt in arranging our booking and ensuring our pre holiday arrangements were sorted (airport pick up etc). Also each day she would come by and chat to ensure everything was to our satisfaction and offering tips of places to visit etc. She’s a true Gem of a lady! - Detion - (Restaurant Manager) is fantastic. He is so friendly and can’t do enough for you. For example I mentioned one day in conversation that I like a Greek sweet bread called “tsoureki”. A couple of days later he had ordered it in and had it ready for us at breakfast time. (Even getting us some on our last day to bring home) - Talk about 5* service! He makes a mean cocktail too. - Stefano, Yannis & Alexandra (reception team) are all excellent, they are the encyclopaedias of Mykonos. They know every restaurant/bar and where to go and more importantly where Not to go. They all give honest opinions which is helpful and always offer a warm welcome. - Stavros - The Best Barista in the whole of Mykonos! He would get my morning Americano ready without even asking. Always smiling and working hard. A true Gent! But even though I haven’t mentioned everyone, all the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I would go as far as to say probably the most friendliest staff of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in and we’ve stayed in a lot. Location of the hotel It was great for us because we quite like walking to places to burn off those Cocktails. However it may not suit everyone. The hotel is perched on top of the hill which gives you one of the best sunsets and views on the whole island. It’s lovely and quiet up by the pool area but can get a little windy at times. The walk into Mykonos town is down a busy road but as long as you stay close to the side it’s fine. It takes about 15 mins to the centre of Mykonos town. There is a supermarket virtually opposite for all your essentials and if you walk the other way you will be on Ornos beach within 15 minutes. So, the location is very good as it’s so close to everything but also has the peacefulness of being out of town. If you don’t like walking, there is a bus stop just a 2 minute walk from the hotel (opposite the supermarket) or you could call a taxi of course. There is a free private Car park if you decide to rent a Car/Bike etc. There is a nice Asian restaurant called Tokyo Joes a 5 minute walk away. Also a lovely bakery (7-8 mins away) with outside tables for a spot of lunch. Room It was lovely. We had a beautiful sea view end room. It was large and the air conditioning was excellent. It had an amazing shower, A huge Kingsize (very comfortable) bed and once again the balcony had Incredible views. There is a kettle, Iron and mini fridge in the room. My only thing they could do just to make it a true 5* room would be to have a Nespresso Machine in the room for those early morning Coffees. Long gone are the days of instant coffee sachets! This would be the icing on the cake for me! In the shower are full size bottles of a very nice Shower gel and a Shampoo/Conditioner. So one less thing to pack! WIFi Was excellent throughout the hotel. Food/Drink Breakfast is very nice and served between 08-00-11:00. There is plenty to choose from to include fresh Fruits, Greek yoghurt, Granolas, Pastries and lots more plus a few hot items (fried eggs, Omelette, sausage & Bacon). Fantastic Coffee too. The restaurant food is very good quality. However, we felt the lunch menu needs improving as it lacked snack type items. Usually for lunch we may just have a small snack such as a Pizza to share or some Nachos on our sun bed for example, but the menu didn’t have anything like this at all Apart from some Salads & Burgers it was mainly “dinner” type options . (Steak/Pasta etc) There was a lack of the Greek favourites too. We asked for a bowl of chips and was told we had to buy the burger to get the chips as they couldn’t serve them on there own. It’s a shame when you have an early dinner reservation somewhere and just want something small to see you through. So the hotel Definitely needs a pizza or toasted sandwich of some kind on the lunchtime menu and maybe some Greek snack items such as (souvlaki, Tzatziki, Keftedes, dolmades, Cheese Saganaki etc) The drinks are not the cheapest but are high quality! You can expect to pay €16-20 for a cocktail (which is normal in Mykonos). We did however think €6 was very expensive for a 250ml Coca Cola though. I appreciate it’s a hotel but even In the restaurants in town a Coke was around €3.50 Pool area It’s absolutely lovely. There is a small pool (that is a little fresh) but the hot tub made up for that! Before going to the Tharroe we noticed from the pictures that there is in fact only 8 double sun beds and we feared we would struggle to get a bed. Fear not, the hotel was full and we never once Failed to get a bed. Even arriving at Noon or 1pm there was ALWAYS a sunbed. So dont worry about setting an alarm at 04:00 to reserve one, it’s simply not needed. There is plenty of sofas, Rocking chairs etc too! There is a lovely pool bar and the waiters will serve you at your sunbed too. There is also a small Gym which has a good selection of machines. We found some really good Running/hiking routes locally too. Would we return? ABSOLUTELY……And we will………It’s a cracking hotel with a lovely chilled vibe. Just need to warm the pool a little, put a nespresso machine in the room and add a few snacks to the lunch menu and you have the perfect hotel. The location is excellent and the owners and management should be very proud of their wonderful team and hidden Gem of a hotel! It’s Greek hospitality at its best! Thanks all for a wonderful holiday! It’s a 5* review from us.…
We’ve had a wonderful stay at Tharroe! The staff, the ambiance, the design of the hotel; everything was lovely. The view from the hotel overlooking the city was one of the prettiest views we’d ever seen, especially in the evening it’s gorgeous. The staff will gladly help you out with several things such as renting a car and provide recommendations to make your stay in Mykonos enjoyable. Breakfast was nice and the waiters were very friendly. We had a spacious room which was cleaned every day and a small garden where we could relax. We would definitely recommend this hotel, it was simply amazing!
Loved staying at Tharroe. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were beautiful, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was wonderful. Only downside is the walk down to mykonos town along a very dangerous road that’s full of traffic.
Amazing stay. Complimentary pick up from airport/ferry (both ways!) which is a BIG deal given there are only 31 taxis throughout all of Mykonos so “private drivers” are really expensive. Can make any coffee, complimentary breakfast was delicious and the Barbarossa restaurant part of the hotel was honestly the best meal we had in Mykonos. Amazing views and close walk to Old Town. Staff was very hospitable. Bike/ATV rental next door. Would highly recommend.
We came to Mykonos for our first visit and booked online for our 2 week stay at the Tharroes of Mykonos. We were picked up at the airport by very friendly staff that made it easy to be identify as it can be a little scary being first time in Mykono. We arrived at reception and we were made to feel so welcome with a full tour of the premises and welcome drinks by the pool. Christian Stavros and Dimitris are all very attentive and caring, making this holiday a great experience for us. Reception staff were very helpful in giving us options for day tours to cruise the Aegean sea. The View from the Restaurant bar and pool area is stunning and ideally located for viewing for the sunset with drinks and spa to make it all that more appealing. The whole place has stunning carved marble statues and pieces of original art scattered everywhere throughout the property. We loved the spa and Gym to work out. Buffet breakfast was a lavish spread, the weather was amazing. We would definitely return to his hotel.…
First time in Mykonos and it was the Best 12 days of my life. Friendly staff and great facilities, Spectacular views at an affordable price. From the manager right to the cleaners they make this place a magical place to stay. Special mention to Christians, Stavros and Dimitris for the best service and cocktails, you made this holiday the best experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Alby
We joined our friends that were staying at Tharroe for a night, before going back home. Had a lovely time, great views from the pool, delicious breakfast. The team is so helpful and heart-warming, especially Stefano and the cleaning ladies. Wonderful!
My partner and I had a great time staying at Tharroe. All the staff were kind, accommodating and knowledgable, while Stefanos in particular was helpful and took great care of us. The bar and pool area are exceptional, with stunning views. The location was perfect for us - walkable (just) into Mykonos town, and if you're feeling more adventurous you can walk to Ornos (although I would suggest a cab), which the staff will gladly arrange. Our room was in a side building off to the right of the main building; which meant it was private and quiet, and also had a fantastic sea view. The hotel also offering airport transfers made everything stress free.
Absolutely beautiful Hotel. Very clean and organized. The views from the room amazing. The Staff is amazing. Olga thank you for your great hospitality. You Hotel and staff were above and beyond amazing. Special shout out to Stephanos and John for all of your help in finding Gluten Free restaurants and places to see in Mykonos. My daughters and I plan to come again someday soon. Eleni Moularas
Me and a friend recently stayed at Tharroe. We had the most amazing stay there. The hotel is stunning, very clean and the interior design is gorgeous! A special thanks to Stefanos who made our stay extra special, he helped sort out restaurant bookings, advised us where to go and what to do, nothing was too much trouble! He works so hard and always keen to ensure we got the best out of our stay. Would highly recommend Tharroe to anyone going to stay in Mykonos, you can't go wrong! Not to mention to amazing views you get over Mykonos!
