We stayed in this hotel from 5 -19 July in room 306. It is our 11th holidays on Mikonos, but the first time in this hotel.
It is a small boutique hotel with 25 rooms. This hotel is located on a hill with an amazing view on the Mediterranian Sea and view on the city of Chora and it’s famous windmills. The location offers the advantage of being in walking distance to the city ( 15 min), although in a very quite area (no noice of cars nor partying people). It is an oasis of peace.
The hotel is full of pieces of art from all over the world, which gives the place a very personalized atmosphere. The owner (Olga Papadaki) welcomes you personally, and is always happy to explain about the art, with a touch of humor. She regularly asked us if our stay was ok, and when needed, our requests where always taken care of.
The rooms are spacious, clean, equiped with safe, fridge, iron machine, bathrobes, coffee and tea, complimentary water, airco (although not always strong enough to cool the room sufficiently), WiFi (working very well), terrace with sunbeds and sea view. The bathroom has a (whirlpool) bath with the shower in the bath, 2 sinks and a toilet. Although very clean and all amenities present, the bathroom needs some renovation. There is not enough space for cloths in the room.
The pool area is fantastic. The pool is refreshing and remained refreshing during our stay, because of the size (surface and depth). There are double sunbeds and towels. There are no umbrellas, which is a pity. I cannot stand the sun for a whole day, so I asked to put a sunbed under the sunroof of the outside restaurant. Mikonos wouldn’t be Mikonos without the wind. I suggest the hotel takes some simple measures to prevent towels to fly away (clips with weights, shadow area under a canopy). It’s these simple details that adds to your comfort.
We booked bed and breakfast. The breakfast is really good, offering everything you can imagine: all sorts of coffee, fresh fruit juice, eggs in the way you like, fresh fruit, all kind of yogurts, cereals, all sorts of bread, etc etc.
The hotel has a highly recommended restaurant called “Barbarossa”. The chef is amazing in creating dishes which are pure indulgence for the eye and the tongue. For both lunch and dinner, we had excellent food, reasonable priced and worth every cent.
This hotel is highly recommended! We even consider coming back next year.

Absolutely dreamy
We stayed in tharroe of Mýkonos for 3/4 nights and it was a major highlight of the holiday
We were greeted by staff who were so respectful yet welcoming , inviting and fun which made the experience that 10x more enjoyable (special shout out to the owner who was a lovely and welcoming lady , Adonis , Dimitiri , the barman and the lovely lady on the front desk )
the modern and decadent Interior throughout the hotel was magnificent from the first steps
The whole experience was extremely luxurious from the Breakfast and the presentation to the views that were 10/10 every night , the staff friendless and spotless room cleanliness. Our room was spectacular and we appreciated everything from the overly comfortable beds to the small details and decor that made all the difference
We felt incredibly safe , looked after , all our needs were met and more . Food at the restaurant was lovely in particular the meatballs for lunch / starters .
There’s not a bad word to say . 10/10 experience and highly recommend

As a solo traveller, I loved staying at Tharroe of Mykonos. The location is excellent for transits and exploring the island, the hotel is just 6 minutes drive from the airport (€15 in a taxi – I didn’t negotiate with the driver), and 10 minutes drive from the ferry port. The hotel is just outside the centre of Mykonos old town, so it’s nice and quiet, with excellent views over the sea and the famous Mykonos windmills – especially at sunset! It’s a great base if you enjoy walking, it takes about 10 minutes to walk down hill to the busy areas where most of the shops and restaurants are, and a little longer walking back up hill, especially if it’s hot. You can also walk down to several close beaches with lovely clear water and nice sand (Paralia and Ornos are closest). I found it was a great spot for running training, as there are a number of different loops from the hotel (although don’t expect footpaths in Mykonos – just be cautious and stay on the side of the road).
The hotel itself is a typical Greek villa style, with lots of natural stone, whitewashed walls, and some quirky Greek sculptures and art. The rooms were very clean with beautiful balconies overlooking the sea, and had excellent air conditioning and wifi. There is a gym and a spa area too if you feel so inclined. The pool is wonderful and the surrounding area is spacious with a number of day beds and lounges in the sun for relaxing, as well as a beautiful outdoor shower. It was never overcrowded or noisy during my stay.
The restaurant and bar at Tharroe of Mykonos were a real highlight. I loved all the cocktails and wines I tried, and the Barbarossa restaurant is a total hidden gem! The restaurant serves a variety of contemporary Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, with very generous serving sizes. I highly recommend booking an outside table on the terrace. It really is the most beautiful, chilled place to watch the sun go down, and much less manic than watching the sunset in town at Little Venice, where most tourists seem to crowd around from about 7pm. The breakfast was a buffet set up with barista made coffees, fresh juices and eggs made to order. Excellent croissants and of course delicious greek yoghurts and fruits. Because of covid precautions, a waitress served all the breakfast foods.
The staff were very attentive, but not overbearing, making my stay very pleasant and comfortable (special thanks to the lovely Dimitris and Tzanos, who were very helpful). There is also a beautiful calm hotel dog called Chiara who is usually snoozing in reception. The hotel is dog friendly, but you must let them know if you want to bring a pet when making your reservation. Overall, I thought Tharroe of Mykonos was a great base for my time on the island, it was close enough to everything that I wanted, while also slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the busiest part of town. Would 100% stay again!

The hotel is a real gem in Mykonos: just far enough from the noise of the town centre, but within easy reach by taxi. Wonderful view of Mykonos Town, very helpful and nice staff, excellent food in Barbarossa restaurant. The pool and its area is well maintained. Cleaning is perfect every day in the room, one bottle of water is free of charge every day. The rooms have various design, and some update may be needed, but all in all you can feel the “soul” of the place.

We stayed here for 5 nights whilst travelling to and from Syros. The hotel is a 15 minute walk into the centre of Mykonos old town, but this is more than compensated for by the spectacular views and a fabulous view of the sunset. The 2 bedrooms we stayed in were very comfortable and more than adequate. The guest areas of the hotel are good, always space to lounge around the pool. Breakfast was buffet style but very pleasingly cordoned off so as to allow only hotel staff to serve the food. Breakfast was very enjoyable. There are dining areas both inside and outside . Perhaps the best amenity is the staff. Always so friendly, nothing was any trouble, suggestions as to where to visit and where to eat were plenty.

I stayed at this hotel with a small tour group. From the pool/outdoor area there are amazing views out over Mykonos Town and the ocean. While close to noisy, frenetic Mykonos Town the hotel is at just enough distance to be an absolute haven of peace, quiet and restfulness.
My room was very comfortable and because it was so nicely cool, calm and restful, I slept very soundly. The staff were all just lovely, but Stefano and Maria were especially friendly and helpful.

My partner and I had a great time staying at Tharroe. All the staff were kind, accommodating and knowledgable, while Stefanos in particular was helpful and took great care of us. The bar and pool area are exceptional, with stunning views. The location was perfect for us - walkable (just) into Mykonos town, and if you're feeling more adventurous you can walk to Ornos (although I would suggest a cab), which the staff will gladly arrange. Our room was in a side building off to the right of the main building; which meant it was private and quiet, and also had a fantastic sea view. The hotel also offering airport transfers made everything stress free.

Absolutely beautiful family run hotel, the staff can’t do enough for you and are incredibly friendly. The location is perfect, situated on the top of a hill with beautiful panoramic views of Mykonos town and the Aegean sea. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the hotel is only a short walk away from Mykonos town which is the perfect place to spend the evening.

We stayed 4 nights.
The staff is young, competent and very kind; the rooms on the lower floor are very spacious, spotless and all offer a beautiful view of the city and the sea.
The breakfast is excellent and varied.
They offered us free shuttle service to the airport.
Rating 9 (not 10 because it is a 15 minute walk from the city centre).
We recommend going on foot in the evening and returning by taxi (regular ones, not those without a sign) costing 15/20 euros.
Recommended structure!

My boyfriend and I came here in July 2023 for a week-long anniversary trip and had the most enjoyable and relaxing stay. We were so glad we went for Tharroe of Mykonos over a larger hotel as the staff were so attentive and lovely and it felt like a home away from home.
Right from the arrival, having a complimentary airport transfer, we knew we were truly in for a great holiday. We went for a double sea view room and highly recommend spending the extra for this, the view of the sea every morning was breathtaking and a perfect start to the day.
We also went for half board which, again, we would recommend. We weren't sure whether we'd get bored of the meals or would feel we'd miss out on eating out around Mykonos but we definitely didn't miss out and this was much better value for money on a quite expensive island. We didn't have the same two meals across 7 days of staying here and all were delicious! Through the week we were here, we never got bored of enjoying dinner in front of the beautiful sunset Tharroe has a spectacular view of. We were also happy with having dinner here as we were able to explore other restaurants on the island for lunch times and the one day we wanted to switch our meal from dinner to lunch, the team at Tharroe were more than accommodating.
Speaking of the team here, Tharroe has the most brilliant staff I've experienced at a hotel. We loved them all but Yannis in particular made sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. He went above and beyond every day to make sure we were happy, from breakfast to dinner time, and so did everyone else. Apostolos at the front desk was also lovely from beginning to end, we decided to have a couples massage at one point and this was arranged seamlessly with quite short notice.
If you're in two minds about staying here, absolutely do it! you will not regret it!

No, unfortunately not probably because the hotel is situated high up on a hill top and is rather exposed to quite high winds at times, so umbrellas would not be practical.
Thank you for your e-mail.
As the town is quite close, just 10-15 minutes walk, we do not offer shutle service. There are regular public busses to and from the town, with bus stop just outside of the hotel. Additionaly, there is also the option of taxis or private transfers with appointment, that can be arranged from our reception staff.
Thank you for your question.
Tharroe of Mykonos offers a variety of vegan options for breakfast (American buffet style breakfast) as well as at the Barbarossa Restaurant (ala carter menu)
Thank you for your request. The breakfast is American Buffet style, and the breakfast hours are from 08:00 till 11:00.
The restaurant is available even without reservation.
