We decided to stay here at the last minute and lucked out by getting a room on a Saturday the day before. We stayed in the Arts and Crafts room, which appeared to be one of the larger rooms available. Had a nice sized living area. Some of the other rooms appeared to be a bit smaller. The owner was welcoming and engaging. She made sure to point out the small common area where you can get cookies/coffee/tea etc. I recommend you don't miss out on those cookies. The decor in the room was pretty cool and quaint. We loved it. Their is no air conditioning but the fan in the bedroom should do the trick with the windows open. Their is a small indoor hot tub, a garden area, a little fire pit and even a shared library area. We travel a lot and I just have to say this is one of my favourite places I have stayed the last year or so. It was a last second getaway on the long weekend and we couldn't have been happier. Breakfast was made by the owner. She was attentive and the food was much better than standard breakfast fare. She also owns a restaurant across the street which has a menu that provided a lot of choices that would not be something you might conventionally expect from a small town. From outside, the building may look somewhat unconventional and the location on Main Street may be a bit unorthodox but fear not. You will fall in love with place.

My husband and I were traveling home to Calgary, and got caught in a bad snowstorm. Booked into the B&B last minute, and we were greeted warmly when we arrived. We stayed in the Dorm Room off the lounge/library and it was lovely. Quaint and comfortable. After a good night’s sleep, tasty breakfast, and friendly conversation, we were on our way home. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience. We will be back to stay with you again.

The food and service here are amazing! I attended a weekend scrapbook retreat at Country Encounters and we were thoroughly spoiled. We were served a delicious family style breakfast and dinner in their cozy dining room and they brought us soup and buns to the events room so we could eat at our leisure while crafting. The food is phenomenal and the rooms are done up nicely with a mixture of antique and modern furnishings. If you are looking for a getaway, this is the place to go, you won’t regret it!

My family and I (3 kids) stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment suite, at the very end of July. Dawn was very helpful with all my questions before I arrived, and her and her husband were apologetic about the insane amount of construction that had sprung up around them...but it wasn't there fault and it really didn't impact the quality of the stay. The apartment itself was wonderful...the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom had the "Star Trek" shower, and a large clawfoot tub...believe me, there was no fight to get the kids into the shower or bath...it was more difficult to keep them out! Absolutely loved it. My biggest regret, is not getting a chance to eat supper at the restaurant. No, scratch that. My biggest regret is not stealing EVERY cookie available...best cookies ever; don't skip them. We hope to visit the region again, and if we do, no need to search for a different hotel.
