The room it self was good and price wise I think very good. Very unusual the fact that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. with no hand basin. Very nice that there was a Nespresso machine, with 4 pots. Disappointing that there were just two paper cups. The thing that let our stay down was the restaurant. First we were told that we were too late to make a reservation and we had to come after 20.00 hours as the restaurant was fully booked. No effort was done, to write down, for instance the room number so they could have called when there were tables free. When we arrived at 20.00 hrs the restaurant was already almost empty. Also we were not so pleased with the food. The fries were really yummy, I have to say. Staff clearly did not enjoy working for this hotel. We were offered a reduction of the price, but we really had to ask for this, after we honestly mentioned what was wrong with the food and also that food was not eaten. Would I stay in the hotel again. Yes, would I eat in the restaurant again No.

Check-in was slow and after 3 pm we were eventually assigned room 127 on the first floor according to the receptionist. It turned out that the room was on the ground floor after a long search. The luxury room was ok but dated with bizarre furniture and outdated carpet and curtains. Nespresso is a +. Beds and bathroom are good as standard. Dinner was below standard in terms of quality of meat and wine, etc. An extra plate with bread and butter + 6.5 euros! supplement. Breakfast is good as standard, but there are not enough staff available to clear and replenish in a timely manner (1 retired man).
Definitely not worth 4 stars and in urgent need of an update.

Our stay was just for one night. Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was on the second floor and was clean, quiet and comfortable. Decorum was okay. Layout of our room had a separate toilet, or w.c., which is always practical.

Most common areas were in need of cleaning and some updating. Pool was okay but sauna and steam room area was dirty and smelled of mold and a slight sewage odor.

We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy but the temperature was very cold. We reserved a table for the three course meal using a culinary website that offered a discount. The meat and fish portions were larger and the vegetable, rice or potatoe portions were extremely small. We waited an hour for dessert because the waiter forgot our dessert choice when we he first took our order. He asked us again after the main course and, after a 50 minute wait we got his attention. He then admitted he forgot to place the order with the kitchenhe. He did not apologize for the mistake or offer any compensation for the delay such as tea or coffee.

The waiter than presented us with the wrong bill, then the correct bill but he had added a 10 euro charge to it since we had used the aforementioned website to reserve it, claiming this was necessary due to the hotel having a 4 star rating. When we questioned him he claimed it was in the fine print for the booking. Dinner, overall, took more than 2.5 hours which was far too long for the experience.

Of course, later we checked the booking website and could find no details regarding the 10 euro extra charge. We then spoke to the front desk the next day and they were surprised this had occurred, stating it was not hotel or restaurant policy. They apologized and refunded us the 10 euro and gave us a card for one free cup of coffee.

We also ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant. There was a nice selection of choices and overall that experience was fine.

Being rated a four star hotel means more than just having a lounge, pool and restaurant attached to the facility. While it was, overall, a good experience we wouldn't choose to stay at this Fletcher hotel again.

Arrived at lunchtime. No staff serving on the outside terrace. Scan your phone on the table and somebody finally arrives to you half an hour later looking irritated that they have to serve you. Paid extra for a luxury room and it’s nothing special. Only a standard sized room with no fridge and a noisy mobile air-conditioning stand on the floor. For dinner they charge ridiculous money for a glass of water. Solution, walk to the toilet with your glass and fill it up or do what we did; melt some ice-cubes from the wine ice bucket. Apparently the fee for the water is because the water is filtered and kept in a refrigerated system. So not environmentally friendly not to mention the amount of plastic waste during breakfast. Fletcher Hotels really need to get with the times and start making a contribution to a cleaner planet.

Our 2nd and last stay in a Fletcher hotel. Just like Slenaken, Little Switzerland is a very outdated, dingy hotel. I don't think it has had any maintenance in years. Everything too dirty to touch. Breakfast reasonable but dinner very mediocre and had to wait far too long for simple dishes.
Staff can still learn a lot.
Mandatory to eat outside, inside was not possible!
When asked for a manager to express my complaints, it turned out to be a bar employee who showed no understanding at all and dismissed everything by saying that everything had been arranged according to their rules.
Solution: demolish hotel!
Never again Fletcher!!

We stayed at this hotel and were not impressed.

The rooms lack finishing touches. For example, fridge is taken out but cupboard is still there. Cupboard did not open properly.

Also, the hotel needs an upgrade as the furniture is dated and in poor quality. The room we stayed in had only a mobile airco - not an issue in April but would be on a hot summer day.

Would not recommend staying here until major renovations have been done.

Ps. The location is good. There are great hikes around the hotel.

We needed a bed to attend a funeral dar from home. This hotel did the job.

The hotel is surrounded by private dwellings, but there is enough privacy.

Sparsely staffed, the hotel and its surroundings can do with a bit of TLC (see pictures).

Stayed a night here in April - whilst the local surrounding area is lovely, the hotel is rather a shambles. It’s not particularly clean, the decor is dated, dark, cheap and grimy and the service was pretty “meh”. Effectively it is a good set location for a dodgy movie. The only plus was that the bed was quite ok. For the rest, never again!
