Stayed at the Willa Port for a couple of nights away with work and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We’d arrived there via hire car from Gdansk airport which took around 90minutes. Ostroda does have a train station and one of our group had arrived this way.

The hotel is a pleasant space and the staff are pleasant and welcoming. The lift up to the upper floors provides a lovely view over the lake.

My room was away from the lake view but was spacious and had balconies. I didn’t have a bath but the shower was exceptionally powerful. I slept very well on both nights.

We ate at the hotel restaurant which was Italian themed on the first night and enjoyed a pleasant meal overlooking the lake. I enjoyed tuna steak. It was off-season, relatively quiet and we noted that things tend to close a bit early.

The breakfast was a sizeable buffet with a decent selection of different options including some I didn’t recognise. The hotel literature was mainly Polish, though there were some English menus and the staff spoke English well.

I didn’t use the Spa or gym but information was provided into its numerous services.

I did take exercise by walking around the lake on the nearby walking / cycling path which was popular with many people. The area surrounding the hotel is nice and we found a load of things within a short walking distance including the Castle, town hall, amphitheatre and water park.

If it had been a leisure stay I would have hired a bike to get around the whole lake as the prices looked very reasonable.

Certainly a place I’d like to visit again.

A hotel of a very high standard. Great location, close to everything. The service was very helpful and accommodating. Delicious meals. A very enjoyable stay. The rooms are very large and spacious, the internet works without any problems. If possible, I will return to this hotel.

We stayed here for one night. The hotel looks very nice and new and the room was great. The wellness and relax area was small but nice. The front desk staff could have been better. When we checked in, the girl was not smiling and gave us very little information. She said nothing about the breakfast, wi-fi or the relax areas so we knew nothing. The service there could be better.

The reception is borderline rude. We said Hello twice with no response…
For a 5 star it’s very surprising!
It’s a great hotel, super well located, opposite the lake, within walking distance, in the center of Ostróda. I would rather give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.
The room is comfortable.

Excellent place for a business meeting. Great cuisine. Rooms with view on a lake. Placed between Warsaw and Tricity, nearby S7 lane. If you are looking for a weekend brake or place for an unobvious business meeting, highly recommended!

I have previously stayed at the apartments of Willa Port when it opened around two years ago and recently(Summer 2011) returned. I must say my party and I were extremely disappointed. Originally there was a breakfast service directly to the rooms which was no longer. I had a baby with me and in the mornings we were expected to come out of the hotel and either get into the car and DRIVE round to the other Willa Port for breakfast or we were told to go over the 'Taverna' restaurant located on private land to the side, which on early mornings was shut.! So imagine the hassel you have to go through on a rainy day with a baby, sort out the car seat, drive out onto the main road then try and find parking on the other Willa Port site, unpack your baby and yourselves! ridiculous and all for breakfast which was definately not worth it. Poor selection, most of the plates were empty and replenishment stopped before the hours of breakfast were up. Poor selection of drinks although there is one coffee machine present for all the guests to queue up and use.
We also went on a religious weekend in August and that was the reason for the lack of supplies but how comes Hotel Platinum did not have these issues??/ Poor planning and management! No-one to greet or seat you when you get to the breakfast room from the apartments. Waiters walk around you like hawks as you are eating waiting for your plates- not relaxing and pretty irritating. A positive- they have baby chairs. The view is also amazing.

As for the ooms they were not cleaned properly until we pointed it all out ie towels not tidied, bathroom not cleaned properly, light bulbs were blown. It has really gone downhill. From when we visied before we were blown away and were recommending it to all our friends and family but after this stay I do not wish to go back to Willa Port. Perhaps the new building is goof but the apartments leave much to be desired and seem to have been neglected now. There is only one iron for the whole building which had not been returned on our stay so we were unable to make use of it until it was not needed. What was supposed to be a relaxing stay was most definately not and I believe we shall stay elsewhere in the future.

Our family of four, all adults, had a pleasant stay in Willa Port during last bank holiday weekend.
Generally speaking, there wasn’t many things to complain about yet there were few that prevented me from giving the resort five stars, especially considering its industry rating and reputation.

Pros
- great guest service, friendliness and professionalism of the team across all customer interaction points, from reception team to spa assistants to cleaning staff
- location and free parking
- breakfast buffet- fresh, delicious, huge variety and accommodating to different diets
- all necessary measures in place post-pandemic
- many options of spa and wellness treatments
- complimentary access to jacuzzi, sauna and swimming pool

Cons
- larger rooms charged at a premium rate with a front view of the lake and large terrace with a swing could have been prepared with a greater care, the glass balcony panels looked dated and dirty
- Wi-Fi on 2nd floor room was poor and kept on dropping constantly
- Italian restaurant downstairs, notabene with fantastic food, hosted series of live music concerts over weekend. Italo disco is not too everyone’s taste, I appreciate it, but the sound system was so powerful, that after an hour or so it became really annoying to many guests staying in lake-facing rooms. My suggestion to hotel management is notifying guests about such events

Overall, I would highly recommend Willa Port for a short weekend, it is beautifully located and offers a range of facilities on site and within walking distance, just needs a little of TLC.

It uses to be one of the best hotels in Poland, a fantastic location directly on the lakeshore in a smiling small, well-governed city of OstrĂłda, near the promenade with a full range of water divertissements, now, thanks to the careless management start to fall into pieces. Once booked the customer receives a mail "careful, you're probably a thief, but we'll discover your tricks and will charge you for that", then, even if you left a lot of money in your previous stays, won't receive any upgrade in a practically empty hotel. The fake Italian restaurant for almost two decades will not correct stupid errors in the menu, the bath will be full of mud in the corners, the moquette will be always and always dirtier... The swimming pool will be unguarded, and its glass wall will be so dirty that will be almost impossible to watch thru. The choice of TV channels will be very poor... But, you'll get one of the best breakfasts in four-star hotels in central Europe, you'll have a fantastic view from the balcony (if you'll get a room with!).

We have visited Willa Port for an extended weekend in May 2017. This was the cheapest option on booking.com for a 4* hotel in the Lakes District (Mazury) and this was the primary decision making factor :) Location is great: just on the lake front, beside an amphitheatre (good location for events). Rooms are very big, I guess most have side lake views. Buffet breakfast was rich. Food in one of the local restaurants, Trattoria La Riva, quite good as well. Spa is well equipped with a pool, saunas and massage areas. Beware: there is no gym!

Now about the service: it was a mixed feeling, as one could predict the reaction of staff. Some were nice and friendly, some, unexpectedly turned rude and murky. Buffet breakfast service was a mess: huge quest to one working coffee machine, tables were not bused on time for new guests, buffet was replenished at random. In their local eatery, La Riva, nobody told us that there is a wine selection NOT LISTED on a wine list. This is not only hard to understand but also hurts owner's profitability: wines in the menu were cheap ones while the ones hidden in another room much better and therefore more expensive. Quite stupid attitude.

Their advertised "free" WiFi is available only after you log in with your personal details (e-mail) or via FB. I am sorry, but this is not free at all as you'll get spam from all over if you do it. Shame on them. We used our mobile network to get to the Internet.

The spa staff shined well above the average of most service elsewhere. We participated in morning gym and stretching which was really great way to start your day. There was also a massage demonstration and a make-up class.

The owners of Willa Port apparently hold another 4* property in the city: Platinium Hotel which is in the city centre just beside the shopping mall, huge pool complex and sports grounds. We did not test the service though.

Our verdict: considering that you pay a bit less in Willa Port then in other hotels of the same standard (which are plentiful in the area) the decision is yours: good location, poor service, less expensive - go to Willa Port. Or choose another location for better service but at a higher price.
