I recently attended a wedding at The Chichester (Essex Barn) on New Years Eve and what a lovely wedding venue. Firstly the duty Manager Ben could not be more helpful and Maddy and her staff were perfect throughout the day and night. Well done !!

Before booking the New Year's Eve gala evening, I telephoned to see what was on offer for the £85.00 per head occasion. A polite lady informed me that there would be canapés and prosecco on arrival. A 5 course meal 1/2 bottle wine person A cheese selection board at 10pm HOWEVER! The prosecco could have stripped paint, 1 canapé per...

Stayed here on business. Looked very impressive when I drove up and there was plenty of parking. Reception area large and service very friendly. However, disappointing room for the price. Bathroom was old and needed redecorating with mould on the ceiling. Decor in bedroom needed updating too. Didn't have dinner in the restaurant but breakfast was poor. No serving spoons...

Hotel is average, wifi didn't work in room neither did the shower. Mentioned it to the reception all I got told was she would report it to the manager later. Don't think I will be back. Bed was comfy you only got 2 teabags & 2 coffee sachets, also could hear traffic on A127 all night.

We stayed in August whilst attending a wedding. Having stayed here nine or so years ago and enjoyed our stay we thought we would return. I am quite sure no one has dusted or hovered since our last stay. The rooms were so dusty you could write your name on the back of the main door, net curtains were yellow/brown...

We booked for 11 of us, as a special treat for Christmas Dinner, on entering restaurant, first impressions were fairly good but it went downhill from there. No water supplied to table. No waiter service at tables for drinks.... after a long wait starters began to be served which on the whole was not bad but we were one soup...

We stayed here over Christmas while visiting family. It was pretty noisy due to functions and our room was rather close to the bar area. We stayed four nights and initially, at check in, it appeared that we were not booked. Our room was only made up once, that was a little disappointing, but not a big problem. I assume...

We were all looking forward to staying at the hotel on Boxing Day, as we were visiting family in Rayleigh. We booked 3 rooms 2x doubles 1x twin. These were booked through Expedia with free breakfast. Our elderly parents had no tea in there room and there was no handrail in the bathroom which made showering very dangerous for them....

Table of four for a family Christmas meal.....what a joke. No atmosphere felt like sitting in a canteen , felt very rushed throughout our meal we had to inform the manager to give us at least 10 more minutes in between courses. The starter was ok, the main dish was a little to be desired . No Brussels or any...
