There are places on earth which are out of this world. Imagine a place which offers almost everything, except appointments, stress and the hectic pace of every day life. There is such a magical place - it's called Heiligendamm. The region of Mecklenburg-Westerm Pomerania creates a feeling of freedom. Discover how the air is getting saltier while driving through the century-old avenues of trees. Surrounded by the Baltic Sea and dense beech forests appears the "White Town" of Heiligendamm in a resplendent light.

Beautfuly, high-class hotel at a great location. But except the restaurant and the bar we experienced an atrocious and disrespectful customer service. It started with they couldn't meet the guaranteed check-in time of 3pm and didn't provide any help to bridge the additional hour we had to wait for hour room to be ready, thereby being totally ignorant of us having a 9 months old kid to be taken care of. We were sold an upgrade to a junior suite as we fancied having a terrace, instead we got a small balcony shared with all the rooms on the same floor having only one(!) chair let alone a table, this again was very dissapointing. Finally they let you pay for fake bar bills that are actually lacking a signature - that dispute is still ongoing. It could have been such a great weekend but the DDR-like rip-off attitude customer service ruined it totally. I recommend everyone who is willing to spend 500 EUR+ per night at a nice location close to the beach to avoid this establishment and to explore other options (Sylt, Norderney, Timmendorfer Strand, etc.)

It isn’t good weather and saturday, otherwise you don’t have access to the beach , and the seats. While for the inner circle, there is a party organised ( which will start around 20.00hr) but you have to leave at 14.00hr. Guest or not, it doesn’t matter.Unless,....unless you pay 150€ for a seat. And this is a shame for such a hotel. The rooms are fine, and the restaurants are well managed ( except the breafast, which is a chaos), so why not a little bit of personality or warmth or generosity? Take a look at Bareiss hotel in Mitteltal, and you will experience the difference.

Fabulous Location, Remote, Directly in the Shore. Great Place for families with extremely friendly staff, especially at kids Club. Great SPA, excellent Breakfast. Dinner at main restaurant in a beautiful setting, but food below expectations. All in all a gem at the baltic sea .

Review collected in partnership with The Leading Hotels of the World
A luxury hotel in a superbe location. The rooms are of the absolute highest standard, the staff overall was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast (outstanding service!) one of the best we ever had (including excellent Eggs Benedict, not all that common in European hotels). Bur a few details were clouding the overall impression. The reception at arrival was not exactly enthusiastic - noone at the entrance, the receptionist somewhat overwhelmed despite the fact that there was nobody else arriving. The parking (not for free!) 1 km down the road is an absolute no go (if you're so lucky to find it on a dark November late afternoon). There was lots of free space right in front of the hotel, but, so we were told, that was the 'Feuerwehr Zufahrt'. Surprisingly, the 'Feuerwehr Zufahrt' was full of cars on the next evening...(no fire!). Also slightly annoying were the 9€50 at the bar for a cup of tea without anything. That's out of proportion.

Absolutely stunning hotel! Rooms are fit for royalty indeed with each having a receiving area complete with amenities you never imagined from a hotel. High ceiling, heated bathroom floors, with excellent lighting. You can spend the day in your hotel room without feeling bored. Daily newspapers, best coffee making machine, with all small appliances neatly hidden from your view too leaving you with just crisp and inviting bed to snuglle in and relax! Worth every penny you pay for! Did I mention that the restaurants also serve only the most exquisite selection of wine and food? This place is undoubtedly the best ever hotel I have been to in Europe! A must stay in!
