Located in the Andaman Sea off the northwestern coast of Malaysia, the archipelago of Langkawi is south-east Asia's first UNESCO Geopark – a geological and ecological wonderland of 550-million-year-old rock formations, precipitous rainforest and deserted islands. Just minutes by boat from the world-renowned mangroves of the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi combines artful design and all-pervading serenity with a wholesome connection with nature. The Resort’s traditional Malay kampong-design weaves through acres of beachfront gardens dotted with al fresco restaurants, palms and lotus ponds. An endless sense of space encourages clarity and calm. UNESCO-protected mangroves showcase labyrinthine adventures between land and sea, supported by the on-site Geopark Discovery Centre, while the Geo Spa draws on the ancient healing energies of the surrounding nature. Throughout the Resort, private cabanas, endless hideaways and landscaped pools (including one for adults only) offer the freedom and flexibility to reflect and reconnect – individually, with one another or as a family.

Me & my friends stayed for 1 night at room 901 to celebrate his birthday and we had so much fun and wonderful resort experience. I never felt Langkawi such this amazing before. Feel like i fell in love with Langkawi for the second time since i first time got here many years ago. "Wonderstaff" Ms Ida (Ikan2 Rest) & Ms Bong (Front Office) , FS Langkawi should be proud to hv them to gv excellent service to their valued guests. Room are super amazingggg feels like dont want to wake up and stay on bed the whole entire day n be lazy. We also had ride on bicycle on beach and around FS area, took tons of photos n videos, and also stop for swimming. ... the pool, yess the pool design also great with partition in between the seating areas so guests has their own private space. Food also amazing here. Will definitely come back again for next occassion. I will never sees Langkawi as same anymore. Love you dear FS Langkawi!! #TravelBuddyLGK

Our first time in Four Seasons Langkawi exceeded our expectation. 1.Hospitality Excellent service & hospitality. Professional yet personal - all working together to give us the best experience. Initial hiccups were quickly soothed over by Inthran at front desk , who assured us that our holiday should begin immediately and that any issues will be sorted out. Exemplary ! 2. Seamless Team with welcoming smile Starting from Inthran to Wan , our buggy driver who patiently showed us the room and the studio villa even in the rain. Housekeeping team was discreet and efficient. Evening housekeeping replenished water bottles ( eco friendly purified water in glass bottles) & towels, lit up the mosquito coils and tidied up the bed. Breakfast ( free with our stay) was served ala carte ( to comply with SOP) at kelapa Grill with fab view of the sea . On sunny mornings, we were served breakfast with sand under our feet. A big thank you to the entire breakfast team especially Chef Sandeep, Ida , Suyash & also the director of F&B . 3. Location Located just at the front of the UNESCO geopark at Tanjung Rhu- a nice balance between jungle and a wide long beach . Everyday we watched the resident eagles , hornbills and other beautiful birds. We really felt as though we were in our own private island . 4. Beach & Pool The beach is cleaned everyday and is full of shells . Adult pool feels private and has cabanas . Ilan is a friendly super efficient pool guy - we met him on a rainy day . But he still insisted that we should try the complimentary coconut ice cream and pineapple on sticks. 5. Must Do Try the cocktails /mocktails at the Rhu Bar - Surinder is amazing . Friendly, self motivated, creative bar tender. Try his infused Gins and "Old man" cocktail inspired by Ernest Hemimway The sunset at Rhu Bar is magical. At least once, enjoy the seafood at Ikan ikan . There are budget friendly options which one can choose. We had grilled seafood which was fresh and the service ( even though it was raining and wet) was impeccable. The cook, Azlan did a fantastic job. Plus the wait staff and the manager of Ikan -ikan added a personal touch in their service. We must say that the people make this place , apart from the 1.8 km beach and the sprawling grounds and rustic spacious villas & rooms. The staff's self motivation to solve any issues we may have - even when it doesn't concern their job scope , is impressive. The smiles and professionalism despite the difficulties that the hotel industry is facing is admirable. We just reached home and we can't wait to see all of them again soon.

great experience in all areas and definitely a UNESCO site with well placed responsible personal. A hotel at its best with an excellent team, well trained and effective. From your bed, to the paths, to the nature, to the food and beverages service was always with a smile. i have had an opportunity at 77 to do a lot of travelling and staying in various hotels but with time all the initial well earned effects are lost. i hope that the Langkawi Four Seasons maintains its hold

Stayed in the most luxurious resorts in Langkawi over the Merdeka long weekend during RMCO. Here are my thoughts for both Ritz Carlton Langkawi & Four Seasons Langkawi. As a reference, I stayed in Rainforest Deluxe Room in Ritz Carlton and Garden-View Upper Floor Pavilion in Four Seasons. Room: Ritz Carlton room is very new and equipped with modern and stylish furniture. Four Seasons room shows signs of aging but in terms of comfortability it does a better job. Breakfast: Ritz Carlton definitely wins as it manages to serve buffet breakfast during RMCO with the help of the kitchen staffs for serving. Wonderful selection too. The only drawback is with the huge crowd it felt quite cramped. Four Seasons, on the other hand, provides Ala-Carte breakfast. Selection is quite limited comparing to Ritz Carlton and due to the crowd service was quite slow. I requested for a omelette, upon serving, the omelette turned out to be very raw inside. Then I returned the omelette and requested for a "Well Done" Fried Egg and it took very long to be served. Despite emphasizing to the waiter and waitress that I wanted a "Well Done" Fried Egg, when it was finally served it turned out to be an "Over-Easy" Fried Egg. I was quite angry and decided to just leave as I had been waiting for too long for an egg to be served and it was wrongly cooked. Despite that, it felt more enjoyable to dine at Four Seasons as the breakfast restaurant is situated next to the beach and the cool breeze is really relaxing. Activities: Ritz Carlton has plenty of complementary daily activities prepared for the guests. I prebooked Learn Mak Inang Dance, Nature In The Glass & Weaving Class before my arrival. My fiance and I were the only guests attending dance class but the instructor still did a good job on teaching us the steps. Our family of 6 attended Nature In The Glass at The Horizon. They prepared all the ingredients ahead and greeted me by name upon arrival. All the drinks we created there were very instagrammable. We were supposed to make mocktail only but as we are all adults they let us create cocktails too. Four Seasons provides free bicycle and kayak rental but we didn't make use of them as we were busy with schedules. Guests were offered complimentary sunset cocktail drinks and we enjoyed it a lot as Four Seasons sunset is one of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen due to its extremely long and wide beach line. Facilities: Ritz Carlton has a hidden gem which is the complimentary use of jacuzzi, steam and sauna in Spa Centre for all the guests. We all enjoyed the private experience a lot and it reminded us about our hotspring time in Hokkaido. Birthday Preparation: It was my father's 60th birthday therefore I requested for birthday decorations. Both have done a good job on the decorations. But we love Four Seasons more as they really took our requests to heart by upgrading my dad's and one more room as well as prepared a handmade cake writing "Happy 60th Birthday". Very very thoughtful gesture! Pathway & Buggy Service: Ritz Carlton is situated in the rainforest hence there are lots of uphills and downhills. It is very tiring to walk around so buggy is a good option to travel around. However, due to the crowd the buggy waiting time was quite long. Four Seasons roads are more flat and we enjoyed walking around. Buggy Waiting time is also minimal. Overall: A lot of people may prefer Ritz Carlton over Four Seasons as it is more modern and instagrammable. In terms of price, Ritz Carlton is slightly cheaper than Four Seasons therefore it has attracted a lot of Instagrammers and youngsters. However, for prestige guests who value quietness and coziness, Four Seasons will be a better place to stay.

It’s true when they say it’s a place where regular people become celebrities. I have travelled to almost 40 countries in my previous job and was entitled to stay at the best hotels, but never have I witnessed GMs and Managers receiving their guests at breakfast and personally sending us off upon check outs. And I must mention how amazingly warm Michael was throughout the trip. It was almost like staying at close relatives. My four year old was the happiest and that made us happier. I guess this is what sets this chain apart from the rest. I do hope I could do another trip in December, because once you stay here I don’t think it will be easy staying somewhere else.
