I chose this hotel because I needed a break from two stressful years of pandemic and a sunny escape from home with my partner. My major goal was a "no fuss" vacation and this is exactly what we got. I would like to mention that this is more of an informational review for those who do not know what to expect. We do not frequent luxury resorts and we have both traveled Malaysia prior, therefore we were not seeking an immersive travel experience but merely great food and pure relaxation. Room: We booked the "cheapest" room (Garden View, Ground Floor) which was very spacious and beautifully located with a view on the meticulous garden area. It was decorated tastefully and offered everything you would need, including a hot tub with outdoor shower. This small outdoor area was completely walled off, which offered maximum privacy. There was plenty of storage for clothes and suit cases and a terrace out front included sun chairs. There are mosquitoes, but bug spray was provided. For rainy days there are large umbrellas next to the entrance. The bed was extremely comfortable, we were definitely tempted to simply take the pillows with us. There are two large window fronts facing the garden, if one prefers more privacy, I would recommend booking the top floor. We are not that particular about this and enjoyed the full view of the garden. People hardly walked past anyways, despite the hotel being fully booked. Service Every need was tended to and leaflets were handed out to us during check in. There is a chat service, which responds quickly, sorting out any of your wishes. This includes, table reservations, massages, info on tours etc.. The staff was respectful, kind and responsive. Staff came to clean twice a day, wich we thought was a little much, as they usually cleaned at noon'ish and again in the evening around 5PM, in this time frame we were not in our room anyways. Spa The Geo Spa is definitely worth a visit. Again, beautifully designed, it was an entire experience. We booked a couples massage and the massage therapists did a great job. There were options to take a steam bath prior and we were able to relax in their chill out area after. Pool We stayed at the adult pool area every single day. It was not hard to get a cabana, which offered a lot of privacy with its own entry to the pool. The staff was attentive and we were able to have lunch there too. The pool has a beautiful view and was very long for proper laps. The adult pool is tranquil and there was access to the beach and ocean with outdoor showers. Facilities and general Hotel Complex The 4s covers a large area with stunning architecture and I would personally say that the images are an understatement. Despite the hotel being fully booked, it was extremely calm and never busy anywhere including the restaurant, pool and beach area. We asked for bikes to get around, as you do cover some distance from one place to the other, but there is also a buggy service. Everything is very serene and the entrance area with the stunning blue walls was a joy to walk through. Beach and Ocean We travelled during mid season, which usually includes more rain, but we were very lucky to have almost exclusively sunny days with rare showers in the night. The temperature was pleasant as was the temperature of the ocean. The beach was cleaned every day. Unfortunately Langkawi is known for its large jelly fish population and we never swam out far or stayed long in the ocean. The water sports centre offered free SUP boards and kayaks, which we used to paddle out to the close by island to see some fish and eagles. Tours and Activities We booked a mangrove tour which was a great experience. Our guide was patient and kind. We loved that there was an emphasis on not interfering with the wild life, unlike other tours who fed the eagles and monkeys. We saw three different types of eagles, snakes, monkeys and even sea otters! I would definitely recommend the tour. If you are staying at the hotel on a Friday, there is a cycle tour to the night market close to the resort, which was fun as well. Food We booked an all inclusive package, which I can highly recommend. Breakfast, dinner and lunch was included at the three restaurants as well as the pool area. Since it is a bit tricky to go to restaurants outside of the resort due to its location, having unlimited access to the restaurants was a great perk. The food was great and plenty at all places. In room dining was also included. General Tips: Bring enough cash for tipping staff and taxi rides. The closest ATM did not work when we cycled past. Check with reception if you want to visit the sky bridge. We unfortunately could not go, because it was too foggy most of the days. There is free and plenty drinking water in the rooms and every facility. They use refillable glass bottles, which we appreciated. Bring your own reusable water bottle to fill up if you venture out of the resort to bring with. For all the people who enjoy long dresses and flowing pants, be careful when riding the bikes. The chain is not protected and the fabric may get stuck and tear.…
