The Four Seasons probably battles for the #2 best hotel ranking in Langkawi. It has the best sunset by far, and that is pretty much it. Way past due for a big renovation ; rooms, beach, outlets… Occupancy was like 40%. And what about the big ciment factory on the left side of the main beach ?!? :( Crazy ! Overall very far from being the best hotel in Langkawi, and this is as unusual as disappointing for a Four Seasons

The Fourseasons in Langkawi has been on our “must visit” list for a long time. As absolute Fourseasons fans for years, our expectations and hopes were of course high - and to say it straight away: they were all exceeded by miles. What an incredible resort. What an incredible beach. What an incredibly beautiful villa (Beach Villa 16!). What an incredibly great, warm-hearted, attentive team. Dear Ivan Giles, what you and your team are offering here is world class, how nice to see you and others from the Maldives here again. And the famous @Armando Kreanzlin school was noticeable 😊. Good luck with the upcoming renovations, it will be breathtaking. Always difficult to pick out individuals from the team, but on behalf of the whole team, 1000 thanks to Sandesh and Joanna, who fulfilled all our wishes, Ajit, Azlina and the entire housekeeping, Hafifi, Nabila, Jerald and Nina. You gave us wonderful days.

If there was 1 impromptu decision that I could keep making again...and again , it would be staying at this magical property. As a family of 4 busy doctors , we could not have asked for a better 'Diwali' holiday than this one. We booked our stay just hours before arriving in Langkawi , and yet had all our teeny-tiny requests taken care of. The staff knew how important this day / trip was for us , and they ensured we had a memorable time. Coming to our gorgeous "Deluxe Family Beach Villa" - if you're a close-knit family of 4 like ours , THIS IS IT. If luxury along with privacy are your primary parameters as well , you don't need to think further. Be it our breakfast at Serai , drinks at Rhu , or dinners at Kelapa Grill - every experience was unique & special. Last but not the least , the courteous & helpful staff , who were always available on a simple Whatsapp message sent from our phone. Grateful to them & especially Ms. Joanne for taking such good care of us. Would be returning soon !!

We had a very pleasant stay in FS Langkawi. The resort is located on a beautiful beach facing the sunset. The adult only pool is really calm and peaceful. Members of the staff were all nice and helpful, great service in restaurants, pool and fitness center. The mangrove and eagle tour was a nice experience, our naturalist gave us a lot of information about the surrounding fauna and the protected mangrove area. Delicious food at Ikan Ikan. Food and beverages were expensive though. Some parts of the resort need renovation as the walls get stained and the colors of the wall are fading.

Pros: -Food was fantastic. Every plate was very delicious and the staff, very friendly and accommodating. Bikes to move around the property were fun, but pretty much one size and a high middle bar made it difficult to mount. Could get a few more that are good for shorter people. Was never offered a helmet. Gym was nice. Bed was comfortable and towels were clean. Getting a buggy was easy, but it also felt like the resort was in off-season and less busy. Again, food was very good. We thought the food saved the trip! Hats off to kitchen staff, thank you. Improvements: -Lunch/dinner had slow service, as well as check-in, but some countries/cultures have different levels of service so we figured that's just how it is. - we were told they had PS5 during our check-in tour, they do not. - jellyfish in the ocean AND adult pool closed for maintenance made the family pool too busy. - didn't feel kid-friendly at all, given the ratio of families to couples and older guests. Made me feel I had to hush my kids. I even feel uncomfortable at dinner, given they weren't lively crowds chatting, no buzz about the spaces. Even with well-behaved teens, I felt uncomfortable at the managers cocktail hour and hanging by the pool, as the chairs are close to one another. - Day we used the spa there was no relaxation area to enjoy at the conclusion of the facial, as they were cleaning the area. Again, poor timing due to the adult pool closed as well. And not told about this prior. It was strange to be led to a couch and given a check and asked to leave, no time to enjoy amenities. Found this off putting - rooms felt odd on the main floor, but voyeuristic.

A totally honest review - Our first stay at four seasons Langkawi was exceptional and made us return, this experience has made me rethink returning again. First despite certain aspects we did have a nice time at Four seasons. The staff were very kind and went above and beyond with dietary needs. I would just WhatsApp what we’d like for dinner (often adapting from the menu) and staff would confirm what was possible. As a note it would be helpful to have a list of options for allergies (the hotel provides gf but it’s not stated on menus) During my birthday I went on the mangrove tour it is a must! It was the highlight of the holiday! Amy made the experience perfect with his kindness and exceptional knowledge. We had great conversations and were genuinely interested by all aspects of the Amy's knowledge . The events staff/housekeeping staff decorated my room and ensured I had a gluten free birthday cake and staff sang happy birthday at breakfast! It was so lovely and made my birthday special! Why 3 stars ? It’s a very mixed feeling stay, on one side customer relations is a 5 star experience. But on the other side there’s aspects of our stay which greatly reduced our enjoyment and did not meet the 5 star four seasons experience you’d expect. On arrival we were informed in a very matter of fact way that the Rhu bar needed ‘urgent’ maintenance work and so did the adult pool. An email to inform us prior to our stay would have made this news less disappointing especially being my birthday celebration and would have allowed us to make a decision on whether we still wanted to stay at the resort. We were allocated a room 1603 opposite the maintenance work at the adult pool. my concerns were negated by being told we would not be effected as the gardens were between. The first few days were okay with minor noise, the last few days there was angle grinder noises and men painting the outside of the pool areas and walls . This looked more like routine planned work and whilst trying to relax on our sun beds it was off putting. I don’t think room allocations should have allocated us near to the work. could more have been done to alleviate disappointment? definitely, no recompense was made for significant areas being closed. When we stayed at the resort prior- my favourite aspects were having a private quiet adult pool to use, the sea and beach, drinks and relaxation after dinner at Rhu bar. The sea couldn’t be used due to jellyfish issues. ( not the hotels fault but add in two closures, add in issues with water supply from the mainland including brown water, we were asked to use water sparingly as the resort was on low supply , and suddenly this isn’t a fully functioning resort. Pros- Lovely quiet location with beautiful wide beach. Bill Bensley designed garden/ spaces, manicured gardens. Very friendly, kind staff, who go above and beyond to genuinely make your feel welcomed during your stay. Buggy staff very friendly Wildlife - dusky leaf monkeys, hornbills, Oreo birds and more.. Private Mangrove tour by Amy!! Easy to use WhatsApp message chat service !!! Comfortable beds, Great room amenities Amazing breakfast! Cons Some rooms1500/ 1603 etc are nearer to the roadside / traffic can be heard. And busier staff traffic as rooms are close to service areas. Closure of adult pool - Family pool busy, noisy, unsupervised kids spitting out water into the pool , splashing, rolling over the pool wall into the larger area, over and over and over again and even a nosebleed in the water! Not relaxing. Closure of Rhu bar - No atmosphere at night as a result , nowhere to go or enjoy after dinner. We ended up going back to our room quite early which was a shame. Rooms looking a bit tired/ hard to open sliding doors. Scratched paintwork, dented wood etc. expensive food and drink ( compared to other high end 5 star hotels)
