I stayed here for the night. Very roomy comfortable rooms, this is a former monastery. They have great food and it is very quiet and peaceful. Ideal for couples or getting away from city sounds. Service is pretty nice, almost personalized. Elevator is small. For guests in wheelchair, the staff try to relocate in lower floor rooms and place ramps.

Just attended my son's wedding in the Parador in Guadalupe. The setting is wonderful with the hotel positioned across from the ancient Monastery in Guadalupe which is little more than a large village set in a beautiful mountainside location. The hotel has old rooms full of character with balconies in the old part and more modern rooms in the newer... More

The parador is located in the center of the small village of Guadalupe, the rooms are small compared to the side with other Paradors but you have everything needed. The breakfast is delicious, the coffee is brought to the table in container but you can create much better coffee with Nespresso machine that is present there. Too bad that the... More

It is about the location, which provides splendid views of the El Real Monasterio. We booked a "Superior Room" (205) that had a balcony and great views of both the monastery and the beautiful setting of Guadalupe. Other rooms on the same floor with the same features are rooms 206, 207 and 208. Otherwise I agree with previous comments on... More

My wife and I stayed here in April and had a blast. Lovely parador with a reasonable upgrade on the room supplement. The town was small but worth the drive to stay at the parador and see the church and convent right next door. The view from our bedroom.

Beautiful facility across from the monastery. Restaurants near by are weak. Stick with the parador for food. Solid cuisine, not great but much safer than the alternatives. Have a drink in the bar adjacent to the monastery for an unusual change of pace.

It is no longer an unforgetable experience! The staff is reduced to a minimum unacceptable on a classy hotel. A bug was found on the room. The heating is overeated, difficult to ajust and terminate at night. The food is correct. The decoration has had better days. It seems a hotel tired of being excellent. Lack of professionalism? No, it... More

The historial building is just charming with an indoor patio with orange and lemon trees. The room are small and the furniture and rugs have seen better days. The bar/cafe at this parador had nice tapas and wines. The restaurant had medriocre food and a hefty price tag. The reception staff were unattentive and they seemed more like government workers... This parador is situated in the old city center with the monastery in an adjacent building. It has nice patios to visit or to rest in. It's nice, however with a little bit too dark rooms. The restaurant was and own "Chapter". We entered the restaurant as the very first guests for dinner. Successively other guests came. Now it happened:... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Parador rises up on the original Hospital of St. John the Baptist and the Colegio de los Infantes , artistic historical buildings from the 15th century. A passing home for pilgrins and soldiers, in 1965 it adopted this objetive for the Network of Paradors. The eye-catching orchard which constitutes the garden its secluded swimming pool, colonnades and White walls , are in harmony with the spacious romos of the interior, the bedrooms of which recall the religious function of its origins. The capacity is precisely one of the fundamental attractions which the Guadalupe,Altamira and Mirabel romos reflect; although the wooden terraces, balconies and courtyard with portico reflect the quietness of its appearance. The simple local cooking is delicious, with representative dishes such as "bacaloa monacal" (cod, potatoes and spinach), "ajo blanco extremeno" (cold garlic soup), "migas extremenas" (fried breadcrumbs), "pollo a lo padre Pedro"(chiken),Iberian sausages, lamb stew, chestnut pudding and "muegado de Guadalupe"(fried sweet). ... more   less
