Nice location and village. All was good, just during season with cold temperatures the bar / day meeting room is a bit uncomfortable. The dinner was ok but nothing extra ordinary. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a nice balcony with a nice view. The furniture were typically for the region.

We arrived late from Trujillo and were just in time to join the day's last tour of the fabulous Monastery of Santa Maria that gave us the opportunity to see and honour Our Lady of Guadalupe - the Spanish one, not in any way related to the shrine of Our Lady of the same name in Mexico. The Parador was... More

Excellent hotel in a great location. Pool was really good as the temperature was high. The room was great, it was the largest room we have ever had. The breakfasts were fantastic with a great choice. We would certainly stay again.

There is plenty to say that is good about this Parador - beautiful location, huge rooms with enormous two sink bathrooms at the top end, lovely balconies for the rooms at the superior end, food was good (but see below), lovely swimming pool surrounded by an orchard/ pretty gardens and it could not be more atmospheric nor closer to the... Such a beautiful and tranquil place to stay in such an historic town. The staff provide a friendly welcome and are attentive to your every need. This was our third visit and it won't be our last as we are drawn to the Parador and it's amazing views of the monastery!

Excellent location, dining experience and accomodation. The setting of the hotel is unique and handy for visit to the monestry. Room very clean and spacious with nice balcony overlooking hotel and surroundings. Only drawback was parking is impossible nearby and costs 12 euros in the hotel. Lovely swimming pool is fantastic location.

Even if you are not a big fan of Spanish history you can hardly fail to be impressed by this beautiful historical parador. Right next to the town's famous basilica and monastery, walking into the parador in Guadalupe is like stepping back several centuries only with the benefit of 21st century comforts and service. Our room (204) was a superior... More

I stayed here for the night. Very roomy comfortable rooms, this is a former monastery. They have great food and it is very quiet and peaceful. Ideal for couples or getting away from city sounds. Service is pretty nice, almost personalized. Elevator is small. For guests in wheelchair, the staff try to relocate in lower floor rooms and place ramps.

Just attended my son's wedding in the Parador in Guadalupe. The setting is wonderful with the hotel positioned across from the ancient Monastery in Guadalupe which is little more than a large village set in a beautiful mountainside location. The hotel has old rooms full of character with balconies in the old part and more modern rooms in the newer... More

The parador is located in the center of the small village of Guadalupe, the rooms are small compared to the side with other Paradors but you have everything needed. The breakfast is delicious, the coffee is brought to the table in container but you can create much better coffee with Nespresso machine that is present there. Too bad that the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Parador rises up on the original Hospital of St. John the Baptist and the Colegio de los Infantes , artistic historical buildings from the 15th century. A passing home for pilgrins and soldiers, in 1965 it adopted this objetive for the Network of Paradors. The eye-catching orchard which constitutes the garden its secluded swimming pool, colonnades and White walls , are in harmony with the spacious romos of the interior, the bedrooms of which recall the religious function of its origins. The capacity is precisely one of the fundamental attractions which the Guadalupe,Altamira and Mirabel romos reflect; although the wooden terraces, balconies and courtyard with portico reflect the quietness of its appearance. The simple local cooking is delicious, with representative dishes such as "bacaloa monacal" (cod, potatoes and spinach), "ajo blanco extremeno" (cold garlic soup), "migas extremenas" (fried breadcrumbs), "pollo a lo padre Pedro"(chiken),Iberian sausages, lamb stew, chestnut pudding and "muegado de Guadalupe"(fried sweet). ... more   less
