I had a much more expensive hotel booked in Alona Beach and quickly realised the area wasn’t for me so headed off and came across nuts huts which was a fraction of the price but a million times better.

The huts are very basic but are such a great retreat in the jungle by the r

The location is bliss, but the staff could just make it a bit easier for you. For instance they could tell you at check-in the only atm is in Tagbilaran rather than you find out by searching half of the day when they don’t accept card!
The river is great for swimming, and very re

Beautiful location in the middle of the jungle - accommodations are basic but with all the amenities.
Good food in the restaurant ( lot of vegetarian options). Friendly staff, willing to help you planning and organizing for the bike rent.

We did the hiking in the jungle ( very

We discovered nutshuts online, seems a perfect place for nature lovers like us. lt is really like that. Lots of green, all kinds of birds, we saw blue birds from their open restaurant, a big white bird always fly in a few circles around evening time, and some tiny cute birds, we

After reading so many excellent reviews we decided to go here. We’ve been in the Philippines for about a week before going here and our experiences with the staff everywhere is that like ALMOST all Filipinos are incredibly nice, warm and welcoming... here is where we had the firs

Response from Walter L, Owner at Nuts Huts Resort
Responded May 8, 2018
Dear travelers, and reviewer, I am trying to make sense of this review and the very reasons why this results in a 1 star review, as I just see two main points: - the paddle boat for rent is just a make-shift solution in case all 3 kayaks are rented out. The price for the paddle boat is 300 P per hour which is actually cheaper per person - and can be more fun if it is your thing - than the 200 P per person for the kayaks. - Nuts Huts can arrange scooters from the local community for 500 P per day, it has always been like that, and guests who want to negotiate a lower rate are informed by the staff to contact people down the access road or in Loboc, without guarantee that the rented bikes are in good condition. So this is what this review is all about, and what our response is all about. I see no evidence of rudeness of staff, and any claims of the reviewer on that point are very hard to address, and I know for sure that 99 % of the guests are quite happy about the (very) friendly - and informative - service in Nuts Huts, Kind regards, and happy travels! Walter

Hello, it is simply impossible that you sent 4 emails to my regular email address (see website) and I did not reply to it. So can you tell me what I can book for you here on this site? Kind regards, Walter

Do they ever respond to email reservation requests.? I believe there's a 4 week max advance booking system in place, but to date I've not had any form of acknowledgment of receipt or of a confirmed reservation, despite being within the 4 week threshold. I've also booked a room on a cancellable basis at Stefanie Grace in Loboc as a back up, but would much prefer Nuts Huts. Dare I (we, x 2) just turn up on the 8th April....taking into consideration that's the Easter, Holy week.??
Hi Gary, I was a bit puzzled to read that you did not get a reply to your reservation request. I reply to emails - as one traveler mentioned as soon as I get them - and most people are surprised to get a reply so soon. Anyway I can arrange reservation for you, even via this website if you let me know how many days starting 8th of April you like to book and which type of room. There is still plenty of availability around that time, so no worries. Try sending your request again by email to my regular address too. Kind regards, Walter
