Having been to 25 top-rated Caribbean resorts over the past 18 years, the Sandals Grenada rates right up in the top tier as one of the best. Upon airport arrival, pickup and transfer is quick and easy: Sandals has their own curb-side office. You check in, they put you on the transfer shuttle, and you are at the resort within minutes. Front desk and check-in staff are excellent. Professional and courteous. Check-in is quick while you enjoy your first cool drink. Rooms are typical of this level resort: Spacious and well-appointed. Complimentary wines and a well-stocked mini-bar fridge. Our room opened out to the walk-out pool and waterfalls, which was very luxurious. Some minor room issues were resolved immediately by the excellent, and attentive, resort Management – best Management Staff we have seen at any all-inclusive. The resort grounds are exceptional. Incredible landscaping, walkways, flora, and atmosphere. The Staff does an amazing job with the appearance and maintenance of the grounds. The Resort has 2 main pools. The pool closest to the beach is a nice, relaxing pool. The pool in the central garden area features music, activities, and a top-notch bar (for either swim-up and walk-up sit-down). Where most resorts offer their lower-shelf liquors at the pool bar, this Sandals has all the top-shelf selections at the pool: If you want to sip on a top-notch Don Julio tequila while floating in the pool, no problem! Bar staff is excellent: they remember your drink preferences, and are quick with a refill. Real pros. The pool area is really nice, and the Resort has plenty of floatie mattresses. But seating is somewhat limited, so if you get to the pool late in the morning, you may not find a seat. The Resort has a room option of “Butler” assisted rooms, and the Butlers will reserve pool seating for their guests early in the morning. If you want a good pool seat, you have to understand, and play, the game: Just show up at the pool at 6am, mingle with the butlers, and reserve your seats. Then go have some coffee, a nice breakfast, and come back to enjoy the pool. This resort excels in its food and restaurant services. Most top-end resorts have pretty good food, but you actually get a little tired of the repetitiveness after a couple of weeks. Not here. Each one of the restaurants has an extensive ala carte menu, and each one is quite excellent. Only the Steak House requires reservations, and there is no problem getting a table at any one of the other restaurants on a walk-in basis (sometimes with a short wait). Be aware of the dress code – it’s not too tough… We never ran out of first-class things to eat and enjoy – probably the best food selection and quality we have seen. The fun place for a drink and some good food is the “British” pub “Tipsy Turtle.” In a genuine British pub décor, this small restaurant/bar serves some great, authentic Fish-n-Chips and Bangers & Mash, along with a great selection of other “bar food.” 2 large-screen TVs have satellite feed, so you can request almost any sporting event for viewing with your beer, drink and food. The most enjoyable part of our entire stay at the resort was the bar staff at the Tipsy Turtle: Ricardo is the kind of bar tender that has you smiling, laughing, and enjoying yourself from the moment you enter the bar. He had our drinks memorized from the first time he met us, and was able to have our drinks on the bar before we were able to sit down from that day on. Absolutely first class service that made us feel “at home” in a luxurious way. We thoroughly enjoyed Ricardo’s conversations about the Island, their lifestyle, and the history. Really attentive, personalized service from a great guy. While you’re at the Sandals, don’t hesitate to go “off-campus.” The taxi fares are reasonable, and they disclose up-front what the fare will be. They will quote the price in $USD (although they are rounding off the exchange rate to their advantage, of course). We did the “Henry Safari Tour” full-day island tour event, and it was really outstanding. You can book them on-line before you get to the island, or you can call them from the resort. A “must-do” while you’re there. Check-out and return to the airport is quick, smooth, and painless. They do a superb, professional job that will leave you impressed. Overall, an excellent resort that is highly recommended!

What can we say but ..... WONDERFUL. This was our third visit to this resort. All staff extremely welcoming and helpful, our butlers Jamie, Davey and Ifori couldn’t do enough to make our stay one to remember, all requests were met. Very special thanks to Mr Peter Fraser a superb general manager. Swim up bar staff always greeted us with a smile and quickly remembered our favourite cocktail ! At Neptune’s Evita, Mikeda , Nigel and Chris, thank you for making your bar our favourite, looking forward to next January.

We love Joanne Adams at the quiet pool bar!!! Great service!!! Very personable. Highly recommend her and Sandals La Source Grenada!!! I’m not loquacious, it’s making me type more than I normally would. I hate computers!!!

I booked this trip specifically to Scuba Dive while my wife enjoyed soaking up the sun on the beach. Day one Sorry all the dives are booked for the rest of the week. I got two dives in the day before we left. Those dives were great but it makes me disappointed on what I missed out on seeing. The Butler Service is the only thing that really made the stay OK.

Review collected in partnership with this hotel
This was our second trip to sandals, first to Grenada. In general the place is lovely and rooms nice but the service was average and waiting times far too long. We struggled to get into restaurants; even on our check in we were told that Butches had been booked into the next week, after we were scheduled to stay. We had to continuously check for any openings at the desk. The non reservation restaurants were also overpacked with long waiting times and slow service. The food quality was good. I get the impression that the all inclusive aspect of the resort is primarily for the benefit of those who book the butler service rooms. Simple things like getting a chair at the beach shouldn’t be a worry that necessitates early wake up when on vacation at an expensive location. This didn’t live up to our experience in St Lucia and we won’t be going back to this Sandals.
