What an incredible vacation. The moment we got there after a quick 5 minute shuttle from the airport, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cool towel drenched in lemongrass to help ease you into relaxation. Once we had a tour of the property we were brought to our room. (Although the property is on the smaller side it was nice to see the same faces on a daily basis). The room was very clean. The refrigerator and bathroom toiletries were kept well stocked. We were also told that if you prefer a certain beverage you could request that to be stocked if it wasn’t already. Each staff member of the resort was nicer than the next. I loved seeing many of them singing along with the entertainment or just whistling while they worked….So happy and it showed! We really enjoyed the French restaurant but it does have a dress code. So as long as you don’t mind dressing up a bit, this is the place for you. The beef tenderloin melted in your mouth! But really all the food was pretty delicious. Our second choice would be the Italian restaurant. Pretty authentic and it felt like we were suddenly whisked away to Italy. The spaghetti carbonara was to die for. If you visit Spices, which is their pan-Caribbean buffet, make sure you say hello to Tanika. She will greet you with the biggest smile that will just brighten your day. And you also need to make sure to visit Nordika and Rosella at the living room bar. They will take excellent care of you and make sure your drinks are a flowing. Our favorite part of the trip was the diving. Everyone at the aquatic center was top notch the were very knowledgeable and super friendly. Specifically, Aldith, Travis, Shawn and Tyrone were absolutely incredible in my book. Can’t wait to come back for a visit!!! The boat left right from in front of the property and the dive sights were pretty close so it was a good place to test your sea legs haha. We also brought our own gear and were able to leave it at the shop for the week. They took great care of our equipment and you will have no worries if you choose to do the same. The only draw back is that the prearranged airport shuttle leaves very early from the resort. Our luggage had to be picked up at 10am. Checkout was 11am. We were brought to the airport at 1245pm for a flight that didn’t leave until 345pm. One suggestion we have is that since the beer selection is limited, maybe they can source additional beers from the West Indies Brewing Co which is also a local business. Maybe a rotating tap?? Other than that this is definitely a place we would like to come back for a visit.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our 5th Sandals stay, our first at Grenada. This is a long review, so bear with me. We stayed in the Italian Bi-Level swim up butler suite. Absolutely loved this room category. The living area was spacious, as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a make-up vanity area separate from the large sink space. It was also nice to have the large soaking tub on the patio. Since we traveled in October, it was rainy but, in the evenings, we filled the tub with hot water and when that became a bit much, it was great to swim in the pool. The best part of the room was our Butlers! We clicked with all three. Brent, Kervin and Neron made our trip! We laughed and shared stories and truly all three of them made our trip very memorable. TIP: Research the time of year you are going to travel. This way you won’t be surprised if the weather isn’t what you thought it should be in the tropics. I knew going in that October was part of the rainy season, so I wasn’t surprised that we only had 2 days of sun during our nine day stay. We improvised and made good use of the hot tub by the quiet pool. Wet is wet right? TIP 2: YouTube has tons of videos on room types. You can get a good feel of what room you may want. The Sandals website does a good job laying out what comes with your room. Luxury level means beer, sodas and juices in your mini fridge. No room service. Club level means a bar along with the same stocked fridge as above and room service until 10 p.m. Butler means better liquors in your bar, the same stocked fridge and 24 hour room service. Not sure why people complain about what is or isn’t included when the information is easily found. TIP 3: We found the bed to be quite hard. Asked for a topper and that same day it was on the bed. It made all the difference. Just sorry we didn't ask for it sooner. (waited until day 3). We managed to eat at all the restaurants in some form or fashion. Our Butler team had all of our reservations for our stay already made upon arrival, but had no issue with us wanting to eat at Butches twice. We really liked all of our meals but I will say that service at the French Restaurant was very slow. We enjoyed every meal we had. Breakfast was primarily buffet, tho we did do room service and it was delivered at the exact time specified by our Butler. A special shout out to Sasha who made us wonderful omelets at the Italian restaurant. I will say tho that we were not offered a menu at breakfast that is shown on the app and website. Benefit of the doubt here, we also didn’t ask for a menu. So that may have been the disconnect, but I shouldn’t have to ask for a menu when it clearly outlines one. TIP: Read the dress code requirements before you pack. They are easily found on the website and you’ll know what is expected. I personally like the fact that at a few of the restaurants they “require” a dressier attire. It’s not like you have to wear a 3-piece suit or tie and jacket. Merely a collared shirt, long pants and closed toe shoes. It adds to the atmosphere IMO. Us girls spend time getting ready for dinner, so to have my husband put on something nice means something to me. LOL We did two massages at the spa. Keisha and Osmond, miracle workers! I also had a pedicure that was delightful (I chipped all my polish in the hot tub) I just wish I could remember her name. We also really enjoyed that the Tipsy Turtle was more of a true bar instead of another entertainment space with loud, thumping music. Can’t remember the head bartender’s name, but he took his job very seriously and was constantly cleaning, engaging with guests and making terrific cocktails. If it helps those in the know, he worked on a cruise ship for years. It was nice to talk with other couples and enjoy some wonderful cocktails. TIP: The island does in fact have a supply chain issue. There is no top shelf whiskey, bourbon or scotch to be found anywhere. (They did have Johnny Walker Black, Jack Daniels, Titos and Dewars along with Gordons and lots of Vodka options. I did confirm the supply issue with our private tour guide, (more on that in a minute). So, was I but taken aback that they didn’t have Crown, Makers or Chivas? Yes. Did I take a few moments to ask why and then ask someone outside of the Sandals chain? Yes. Some things just can’t be helped in this day and age. But if this is important to you, you might want to wait a few months for them to get things sorted out. We booked a private tour with a local guide. Mandoo was his name and I cannot speak more highly of the history and knowledge of the island he provided. We have taken a few Island Routes tours during our past trips and they were awesome! But knowing that we might not make it back to this particular Sandals we wanted to get to know the island. I will say that spoke with several couples who said the Jeep tour was a blast and had a great time. The grounds. Sandals outdoes themselves IMO in this department. They are immaculate and truly something. Take a moment and realize how much effort goes into maintaining it all. Those gardeners are truly masters at their craft. There must be hundreds of different kinds of flowers and plants. TIP: Find your way to the tennis courts. You’ll encounter a path ladened with flowering shrubs. It is something out of Narnia. Nightly entertainment was fun. I will say that during the day much of the games and such was very much focused on the “party pool” and the Livingroom. It would have been nice to see some more effort placed upon the beach. Just because we are in our 50’s and don’t want the super party vibe doesn’t mean we don’t want to have any fun either. Only once during our stay did we see any entertainment staff. There could be fun had at the quiet pool that engages guests without thumping music. Charades or something like that could be a way to bridge that gap. The beach is rather small. You can walk quite a ways past the water sports area tho. Not miles long but not 30 feet either. The sand is a rocky type sand. Not the type that hurts when you walk on it, but not “fluffly” like the sand in Jamaica or the Bahamas. It would be great if the rings in the ocean were cleaned. We have stayed at Royal Plantation and this was part of their daily routine. It is just icky to lay in something covered in algae. Housekeeping was outstanding. I went back to our room to retrieve my sunglasses and no joke, the mattress was pulled off the bed and there was a member of staff wiping off the the slats of bedframe. I joked and said something like, did we do something? And he said, no this was part of the housekeeping protocol. Doubt any hotels in the US do that on a regular basis. Final thoughts. I would 100% recommend this particular Sandals. The staff were all gracious and we only encountered one that seemed to be working for tips. Everyone else was super friendly and full of smiles. Genuinely nice and welcoming. It is a small resort, only 200 some odd rooms so expect a different vibe than one of the larger ones. The party pool is great for those wanting the vibe of a larger resort while the quiet pool removes you from that if you want. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I mean if you spend hours researching a new phone, why not spend a few minutes on a vacation that you spent thousands on? Google maps/Earth will give you aerial imagery of how long the beach is. A quick search of Grenada beaches and you instantly learn it is a volcanic island with some black sand. Another search and you learn that all beaches on Grenada are public. That means you will have a few people (we only encountered 2) selling their wares. This is nothing that the resort by national law can deter. Public means public. A simple no thanks is good and they move on. In fact, if you say a polite no thanks, they really don’t bother you anymore. Even on subsequent days. In the end they are just trying to get by, so no harm, no foul in my book. Take the time to read up on the room categories. This way you aren’t disappointed. You’ll know if you get room service, a mini bar, etc. Also take the time to commend the staff. I mean if you walk by a gardener pulling weeds, how hard is to say we really appreciate you? Seeing that the bar staff at the livingroom is being inundated with guests that are already there in addition to the ones that just arrived waiting to get to their room, is it so hard to say, wow you are swamped? I can wait three minutes for you to get to me. What’s a few minutes wait when you are on a beautiful island you and aren’t at work? As far as Butlers reserving chairs by the beach or pool. We were told in no uncertain terms that if we were not there by 11 a.m. they would remove our reservation. We were always there before that time and I did witness Butlers removing the reserved signs to allow others to take advantage. Which I thought was fair. It is ok to go and grab a bite to eat, not ok to reserve a spot and never use it. Seemed to us that the Butlers were consciousness of this. If you think you might want to do another Sandals vacation, book while on the resort. You will 100% get the best deal that way.

I would highly recommend this Sandals. The staff were exceptional and very attentive. The Dive instructors Travis and Tyrone went above and beyond to make sure that the diving was safe and that we had a great time. The underwater experience was great!! Also Leshon at the front desk was excellent in paying attention to detail and is an asset!! Much appreciated everyone and had an incredible time!!

We have visited this resort five times and it is by far our favorite of the Sandals resorts we’ve traveled to. The staff is so friendly and helpful and always go above and beyond to make the experience great. We have had photo sessions done twice and the skill is exceptional. This resort is a little more low key than others and we love that the beach is private. It’s quiet and relaxing. The entertainment team is incredibly talented and puts on the best shows every night. Honestly one of the reasons we keep going back. The food is top notch and we love to visit all the restaurants especially Soy, Butch’s and Cucina Romana. Londa helped us book two trips while on resort and made that process easy. We love this spot so much we just keep coming back. Never disappoints!!

We were happy with the overall experience. Scuba was ok, beach was nice and food was better than average. Some service providers were not up to expectations but overall good experience. This was the smallest of all the sandals properties we have visited but it made it easy to get around.

If you are looking for 5*+ go to this resort. It was amazing. From the wonderful room (Walk Out Honeymoon Suite), to the restaurants, location, watersports, or should I just say everything. It is so difficult for me to improve on the many positive comments on Trip Advisor but I don't want to write a review without mentioning how amazing the staff are. How they manage to get a whole team of hoppy people together is difficult to imagine but that was our experience. Some individuals made our holiday extra special so I want to mention them by name. Keithly, the chef in the wonderful Neptune restaurant who cooked us a fantastic meal for our anniversary, we even received individual personalised menus. It was a magical, once in a lifetime, experience. And DeeDee who worked the bar in this restaurant, always a delight to chat to and a wealth of knowledge about things to do and places to visit, and of course she knows every possible cocktail you can imagine and nothing was too much trouble. Kenny the gardener, loved the tour and his extensive knowledge of the plants and gardens, who brought us the occasional prepared coconut, such a great guy, made our stay special. Special mention to Boota and the team at the dive centre, all of them were excellent but I have to single out the warm hearted, quiet and reassuring Jermaine who gave me back my dive confidence after a few years of not being underwater. Also the irrepressible Shimeir, such a wonderful guy, always with a smile on his face. I met some great guests on the dive boat, special think you to Mike - you know who you are. Lastly Bassey who provided endless quotes for our planned return trip, never once giving the impression of thinking that we had really asked too many questions about the possibilities for our return visit. We can't wait to go back.

Absolutely every part of our trip in Grenada, from the first greeting off the bus, to the goodbye song, was perfect. Our butlers, the staff, and the facilities were all Ritz-level perfection (or should we now say, “Sandals-level perfection”?). Our butlers, Kieran, Kerry, and Denis, were all magnificent at their jobs and always attentive and available. They went above and beyond every single day to make sure my present to my wife, a trip that I had been planning for a year and a half, was as memorable and moving as anyone could dream of. I cannot say enough about them. The food was amazing, and we didn’t have one meal that was less than great, although some were fantastic. Lystra in the Italian restaurant helped set our mornings right every day. At the quiet pool, your attendant (I think her name is “Kiss”) made sure that our cups stayed full, with a smile and a pep in her step. Deanette, our wedding planner, made our vow renewal effortless and flawless. Our photographer DeRon was hilarious and was the reason why we bought pictures when we didn’t expect to. The waiter for our private dinner was prompt, kind, informative, and hustled all night! I wish I had taken notes all week to name every individual that helped make our vacation so special. My goal was to keep my wife happy and relaxed; the mission was accomplished at a level that I could have never dreamed of. Your property, as clean and well-oiled as it was, was made into a pinnacle resort by the staff and their attitudes and high efforts. From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you for your time and consideration during our stay. Sincerely, Ryan Taylor Houston, Texas

We enjoyed this Sandals very much! The food was better than any other Sandals resort we’ve been to. The property is beautiful! The main pool could have been cleaner and finding a chair should have been easier though.

We love this resort. The staff treated us like family. In fact referred to us as family. Dive shop is outstanding…Rendon, Travis, Adrian (Turbo) Capt Sean, Thaine, Curtel and of course Boota. Just top notch team. None better in the entire Sandals resorts. Plus the diving itself is off the hook. 2 boats, easy access and off you go. The Gm Peter Fraser, Injuy and Stuart are excellent executive managers. Talk to you as people as opposed to “a resort guest”. We love that. Cannot say enough. Gosh everyone, every restaurant, every bar and bartender is spectacular. We are going back in 5 months. Our 6th time. You do the math. Top shelf resort in the Sandals brand.

I love sandals and have been to Jamaica a few times so I was excited to go to Grenada. Unfortunately the staff was not friendly or engaging which made us feel uncomfortable to even approach them. The drinks had very little alcohol and the room we had was at th back of the property. The was not what I expected i thought it would be nicer but it felt like a motel. I would not recommend this location. If your looking for a great experience with super friendly people go to Jamaica.
