Stayed one night with friends. Check in was easy, we were greeted nicely by the owner. This is a family run B&B, with 3 generations working there. My room was fairly large looking out onto the rooftop at the back of the building, very quiet. The room was quite clean. The breakfast was well laid out and plentiful, but a...

I can't comment on the hotel, but I did come here for dinner on my first night in Watou. seating myself on the outside terrace. The service to get a menu & then to have my order taken & a beer was very slow. The food I had, steak & frites was good, but really without excelling.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The hostess and her family take obvious pride in their hotel and restaurant. The room had 4 comfortable twin beds, which was perfect for our family, and included an ensuite bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable, and the hurricane blinds on the windows blocked out all sound and light, which...

Ate here with 3 friends (two of whom had stayed and eaten here on a number of occasions in the past) on the evening of Tuesday 12 May. We had spent the day looking at various WW1 sites and walking the Wilfred Owen trail. We had to ring the hotel twice as we were running late, and they were most...

We enjoyed a relaxed lunchtime sitting outside Het Wethuys enjoying both their own beer and the other local beer (St Bernardus) with our meal. The galettes made with hops were appropriate to the area, and came with a salad, and we were able to have a hopcake (similar to a baked cheesecake as we know it) with our coffees after....

We were here for 2 days and everithing was fine! The room was beautiful and clean. The owners were very kind and helped us anytime we needed. Breakfast was really good also. Parking were avaiable in front of the hotel. Wonderful place to stay in Watou!

We visited the restaurant twice during our stay in the Watou area. The owner was extremely helpful. She translated the menu for us and answered every single question we had. When I asked about the house tripel, she informed us that it was her mother’s recipe and her restaurant is the only place where it is available. Her mother came...

Good and very clean rooms. The meals were exceptional, well cooked and excellent quality. The family running the Het Wethuys spoke good English and were amongst the friendliest I have met in Belgium. Watou is a little gem of a place and we enjoyed our stay very much.

I will start from the end ... beginning of Easter weekend, 3 families with 7 young children intimidated and forced to leave once pointed out the lack of cleaning in the rooms. Once welcomed by the owner we were told to quickly get into our rooms as she "had work to do", here the bad surprise, we found dirty toilet,...

This hotel was a very surprising find. It is situated on the market square in Watou where there is plenty of free parking. It is an old, typically Belgian building and according to the owner, was once the town police station/court. If found guilty, the offenders were taken straight out to the pillory on the market square. Fortunately that did...
