It's a beautiful building and has nice rooms and a satisfactory breakfast. However because it is so beautiful it makes a great wedding venue. The wing we stayed in had the wedding party on one side and the court yard full of guests chatting on the other. The door to the wing was also left open with the guests and kids coming in and out to their rooms having what sounded like a great time. At 23:30 for the first dance, Ed Sheeran came on the party speakers so loud we thought he was in the room with us. We really wanted to sleep after a long journey that day. They really should not book other guests on wedding nights. I hope the wedding was as fun as it sounded.

This hotel advertises itself as four star deluxe, well in my opinion it's certainly not four stars and as for deluxe, believe me there's certainly nothing deluxe about it. The room was acceptable with a large comfortable bed but from there it went downhill. The smoke detector on the ceiling was minus its batteries and cover, there were no fire/evacuation instructions, although there was a telephone, there were no instructions on how to even contact reception and the bathroom smelt of drains which meant we had to keep the door shut all the time. We had an enormous terrace with a great view of Vesuvius, but unfortunately, no outside furniture. On arrival, we had to make our own way to our room despite it being literally at the top of the stairs next to reception. There were only three coathangers in the wardrobe and I had to request more twice and even then they were not brought to the room but left at reception for us to collect. We were only there for three nights (thank goodness) as on the first night there was live, loud music and fireworks coming from the plot ajacent to the hotel which went on until the early hours, second night ok, but on our last night there was loud music coming from a party in the hotel grounds. At 11.45pm I went down to reception to complain, no apology, they just said it is a party, my reply was "and I am a paying guest". At 12.15pm, my husband went down and was told the music would stop now. It actually went on until 12.30pm and then of course there was the noise of guests leaving and car doors banging. This is totally unacceptable and I would not recommend this hotel if you want to get a decent nights sleep. And lastly, don't expect to get a drink from the bar after 7.30pm as it will be shut (the barman was the only nice member of staff who smiled), the rest were unsmiling and surly.

We visited this hotel to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We notified the hotel of this and requested a room with balcony or views of vesuvius. No special effort was made to accommodate us or note our ocassion. Our room was large but as around the whole hotel, very dark and gloomy with only 2 small portholes for light. Our room was never properly swept or dusted and the generall standard of cleanliness around the hotel left alot to be desired. In general staff were surly and unwelcoming with barely a smile in the entire 4 days we were there. Be aware that this hotel provides for celebratory private functions which certainly take precedence over paying hotel guests. On our first night (after a full day of travelling and little sleep) we decided to retire early (around 23.00). There was a private function on at the time with music. As we prepared to go to bed a live band started up in the gardens. This was so loud that we thought we were in the garden with them. My wife went down to reception to complain (around 23:30) and was told that they would see to the matter. By 00:20, the noise still showed no sign of abaiting and my wife went down to complain again and this time something appeared to be done as by 00:30 the band finished. We received no apologies or recompense from the hotel and got the impresion we were not that important to them. We were not the only guests to suffer this and several others complained too. Certainly not the luxury hotel we were led to believe from their website. We would definitely not stop here again.

A very comfortable and friendly Relais-Villa property in the off-the-beaten track community of Cercola. The train station (Circumvesuviana line) is about a 20 minute walk (not suitable with suitcases) for easy access to Naples, and the archaeological sites (about 2.80 Euro one way to Pompeii from Cercola). Handy to the Naples airport. If self driving, it's a little awkward to find as local road names, numbers, and signs are almost non-existent, but GPS will get you there. The two-level suites are great. The staff are helpful and friendly. Ask for Antonio in the bar and restaurant - extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Campania's wines. Restaurant is reasonoably priced and has a good wine list. There are a few other restaurants within 10-20 minutes walking distance from the villa.

Stayed here for two nights on the next leg of our tour of the Naples area. I wish we had booked four nights here and used this place as our base instead of our first hotel, it was that nice. The room was beautiful, with a great view looking straight at Vesuvius. The breakfast was very nice with good choice of things on offer. Highly recommended.
