Had a lovely trip this August. Just needed a week away before the hectic September timetable of most families and chose this hotel literally on the sea front. Paid slightly extra for a room overlooking the sea which was great. Rooms comfy and quite modern. Decor in the hotel quite "oldy worldy" but as you dont sleep in the corridor I don't see this a big downside of the hotel! No lift as other travellers have mentioned however staff very accomodating so if trouble with stairs why not ask in advance to have a ground floor room? Very filling breakfast (boiled eggs/baguette/patisseries/fruit/yoghurs/meats/cheese etc) with lovely staff. Had one evening meal there and said was very disappointing. Waited a long time and food was not nice and certainly not worth the money. Saying that had a burger there rtwice for lunch during our stay which was great so maybe we just got an off evening in the restaurant. Lovely to be able to lounge on their private beach then grab food and potter back to a sun lounger! Not too far (5 mins walk) from the main area so plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby too My other half went in the swimming pool with the children a couple of times and they thought is was a lovely addition to the hotel. What more to say? Will return next year as all 4 of us thought it was a lovely stay.

This Hotel is situated in a quiet residential area a couple of hundred yards or so away from the central touristic area of Ronce Les Bains. It has good parking facilities. The building is visually attractive and is well maintained. We received a warm and efficient welcome. Our room had a pleasant seaward view. The room although not large was of adequate size. It had an en suite bathroom together with a separate toilet. The Bed was large and comfortable. At times we were aware of a little noise due to people walking around in a room upstairs, but it was not enough to be disturbing. The room was clean and well equipped. Towels and Bed Linen were good. We were particularly impressed by the Dining areas at the rear of the Hotel. There is a private sandy area at the waterside, at the back of this there is a large decked area with chairs and tables for al fresco dining leading back to a large dining room with large floor to ceiling windows giving unobstructed views out over the water. We particularly enjoyed this environment for eating in the evening. The waiting Staff were cheerful, amusing and efficient. They generated a great atmosphere, but the overriding pleasure for us was the quality and presentation of the food. Clearly the Hotel has a really excellent Chef, we were there for 4 nights and had a different type of Fish each night. All absolutely excellent meals !! We enjoyed the evening walk along the quiet road to the pedestrianised centre, athough rather touristic with its mini fair and large big wheel, this looks particularly spectacular when illuminated in the evening, it forms a stunning visual centrepiece to the area. Many bars have pleasant outside seating lining the area, we found it an altogether a pleasant place to be for our evening coffee and digestif. We would cheerfully stay at the Hotel de la Plage again in the future - but we would verify that they still had the same Chef first............!

Parking was good, rooms small, no lift so lucky we where on the ground floor. Restaurant was okay but staff not good. Breakfast was fair but get there early. I would never recommend this hotel. Oh they do have a covered pool but give it a miss.
