The room was large but spartan and the tv didn't work. The wi fi was abismal. The food and drinks are very expensive but not particularly good. The menu vas very limited and didn't reflect the locality. We would definitely won't stay there again.

El Romeral lies in the depths of the countryside some thirty miles from the beautiful historic city of Cuenca. It is a new building, and it has been conceived and executed with charm. The decor is partly rustic, but in the very best sense of the word. The hosts are very warm and look after their guests well. (They provided...

On our way back to Madrid from Granada we stopped in 'Cuenca' for the night to break up the driving. To say that we stayed IN Cuenca would be lying. The town of Cuenca was over 40 minutes away. We cannot figure out why anyone would stay here unless it was 3am, you HAPPENED to be on the road that...

My fiance and I spent one night at El Romeral during a driving trip through Spain (November 2007). We found El Romeral through Trip Advisor and couldn't believe our luck when we actually arrived at the establishment. Ann and Roland were very friendly, and it made a wonderful change to be able to speak English again! The room we were...

Fully agree with the rave reviews on this site for El Romeral (named after the wild rosemary bushes that were cleared to build the hotel) The Belgian/Spanish co-owners were so helpful, friendly and willing that I hope they do not become disenchanted with time. At the moment, they seem almost amateurish in their enthusiasm, and do they give value for...

What a fantastic Hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and they could not do enough for us. We had a suite, which was very clean, modern, airy and cool. The bed was large and comfortable. The views from the bedroom were fantastic, looking at the old castle on top of the hill. Everywhere was peaceful and tranquil. The whole...

We arrived at this fantastic Hotel Romeral after a long drive from Bilbao. We were travelling with my father and father in law. At once we were made to feel so welcome and did not take us long to start relaxing. The rooms are so spacious and light and very comfortable. Both fathers immediatly settled into the Sanish way of...

We spent 3 wonderful, tranquil days here, pampered by the owners who could not do enough to make us feel so very much at home. If you have forgotten what silence really sounds like and what clean, fresh air means and yet want to be reasonably close to points of interest in Cuenca province, cannot recommend this country hotel highly...
