Hotel La Sorgente is in a tiny town on the winding road between Mennagio (Lake Como) and the Refugio. Probably an good option for those who want to trek in the surrounding hills. Only some staff speak English, but we made ourselves understood with pidgin Italian and sign language and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. Hotel is quite far off the beaten track and the bus times are infrequent, so a car is recommended - but there is a bus from outside the door of the hotel to Menaggio. The...

Stayed one night in august 08. Wanted a cheap place near Lake Como and after a cursory net search found La Sorgente and booked it immediately. This is an inexpensive hotel (paid 55 euros for a double room plus 14 euros for 2 breakfasts) so you can't ask for too much. Room was very small but workable, it was situated...

This is an old hotel, in need of modernising. It wsn't as clean as it could have been and the room was a bit spartan. It only had a small window, even though the view was spectacular - which was a shame. This hotel is about 4km up a very windy, steep hill from Menaggio. It does have fantastic views...
