MOULIN DE LA ROQUE - Noves is a stunning historic twelve acre gated estate situated between Saint Remy de Provence and Avignon, in the heart of Provence, South of France. We are a charming hameau (little village) with several farmhouses all renovated from historic buildings that once served the old mill. We are the owners, Baron Guy Fallon and Gaby and are passionate about Provence and their chateau and mill. We live in the manor house on the property and are here for you for whatever you may need.

Detailed Reviews
Our group of 15 adults and 14 children just spent a memorable week at Moulin de la Roque. We rented the entire estate for a reunion and birthday celebration. We had an amazing time and couldn’t be happier with our experience.
The accommodations are clean, comfortable, well equipped and have lots of character. The AC in the bedrooms and barbecue on each terrace were great in the summer heat of Provence. The estate grounds are huge and beautifully maintained. Lots of space and activities for the kids with a big swimming pool, table tennis, trampoline etc. After hours in the pool we enjoyed late afternoon football and quick cricket matches on the lawn, and evening pétanque tournaments under the charming fairy lights.
Gaby and Guy were warm and considerate hosts, and went above and beyond to make our week special, including arranging several catered meals by local chefs on the lawn and courtyard. Everything went like clockwork thanks to their attention to detail.
This is a very special place and highly recommended!

We had a wonderful couple of weeks at our favourite Provencal estate. In these Covid times we greatly appreciated the diligent and intelligent provisions made by Gaby and Guy for their guests. As ever we are captivated by the Moulin itself, by its Provencal context and by the warm hospitality of our hosts and their team. Great also to introduce more of our family to this gem this year. Looking forward eagerly to returning soon!

We stayed at the Moulin for the third time in April with our two boys. Again we had a great time and enjoyed having such a lovely home base for our expeditions. We enjoyed being able to come home and cook ourselves up a French meal. I think my favourite part was my early morning stroll to the bakery for our daily supplies. It was lovely and peaceful with everyone and everything waking up around me. It was nice being able to do some washing as well, as this is very difficult for a family on tour!
Guy and Gabby are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed the tour of the mill. Our boys loved this as well and were in awe of the old machines. My husband loved to run through the park next door and keeps saying he wishes he had that at home. The boys loved the trampolines and kicking a ball around on the grass outside. We even played badminton.
Although we have stayed there three times we had not ran out of things to do. We visited some of the same locations and a few new ones. We really enjoyed Le Beaux and the boys did especially. I would recommend this as a day trip. We also went to Rousillon again and this time went on the walk through the red rock.
Noves is a great place to base yourself and easy to get there from Paris on the TGV direct to Avignon.

We had booked, confirmed, paid 100% upfront, reconfirmed only to be informed less than 24 hours prior to our departure from Cape Town that they had so called "double booked" our apartment and couldn't accommodate us. You can imagine how distraught we were with no time to make alternative arrangements. We were offered a choice of only 2 places (within hours of our departure). The friends place we were finally placed at was total inappropriate for a family with 2 young children (9 months and 2 1/2 years) - pool gate left open continually, no nice safe outside area/lawn and rats in the roof. We certainly wouldn't have chosen it ourselves. Hence BEWARE when booking here if you are not a regular or friend.

What can I say? This place was fantastic! We stayed for one week over Easter with our two boys ages 13 and 18. Guy and Gaby are great hosts and it shows in all they do. They truly love sharing their special piece of Provence with others. Moulin de la Roque allows you to spread out and take advantage of their large open areas, many amenities, and perfect location to explore the Provence region. We did day trips to Les Baux, Avignon, Pont du Gard, the Roman Amphitheatre in Orange, and Aix en Provence. We also hit the markets in L' Isle sur la Sorgue and Saint Remy. Because of Moulin de la Roque's central location we either had time to relax in the morning and explore in the afternoon or sightsee in the morning and relax at the villa in the afternoon. This was an ideal way to see a bunch of sites but never feel like we were rushed or too busy. When the parents wanted to relax, the kids were able to swim, play ping-pong, foosball, badminton, jump on the trampolines, or play petanque. It's not often you find a place that can make everyone in the family happy...at very reasonable rates. If you're heading to Provence for a week...stay here. We're experienced "villa" travelers and this place has got it right.

We just finished an 8 day stay at Moulin de La Roque, our two bedroom apartment had every convenience you could think of, I was particularly pleased with the kitchen equipment as the Provensal markets are a cornucopia of fresh ingredients for cooking. The location is excellent, centrict to all the towns and cities of interest. Gaby is very helpful in an non obtrusive way, which makes for a peaceful, restful stay. I would definitely recommend this property.

In the hosts of Moulin de la Roque, Guy and Gaby, you will not find a more pleasant, affable, friendly and helpful couple - both dedicated to making one's entire stay with them and in Provence the best experience possible.
The compound is beautiful - entirely private, on an old aristocrat owned estate turned mill and surrounded by limestone cliffs, stream and gates.
Unlike other places we have stayed in Provence, (American) Gaby is always available and ready to help giving you the feeling of being cared for. We took all her suggestions and were not disappointed. Guy is an engineer and has worked tirelessly to rebuild the old mill buildings into charming spaces complete with original beams and stucco walls. He is always delighted to give you a most interesting tour.
Staying in Les Oliviers, we loved the general décor and beautifully decorated, American style kitchen, which Gaby took much personal pride in creating.
The pool is clean and inviting; the grounds are spacious with a large English style lawn and walking trails directly off the estate. We spent one day on the property just relaxing and had many of our meals there (with food from our trips to the local markets) on our private patio or in the completely furnished kitchen. My husband loved the 10-minute walk he took each morning to one of the local bakeries in Noves (while I did my yoga practice) to bring back fresh croissants for our breakfast.
This estate is a huge on-going project for them (they work all winter long at improvements) and one feels they will not be satisfied until it is the finest place to stay in Provence!
Adding to all this, the location was so central to all we wanted to see, we could have happily spent our 2 weeks in Provence there with easy day trips.

We had the great good fortune to stay at Moulin de la Roque in early June 2012 and what a wonderful stay we had! The side trips to Nyons, to Oppède le Vieux, to Pont du Gard and lovely Uzès were beautiful, effortless, and spectacular. The dining in Avignon and Noves was exquisite, and the grounds, the lodging, and the hospitality of the Moulin was top notch.
Whether your trip is for 2 or for 20 - the Moulin has a place for you. And as either a jumping off spot or a stay at home spot - it fits the bill perfectly.
Don't miss it!

In June, friends and I stayed at Moulin de la Roque for a week. Beautiful outdoor spaces, including the green sward of lawn, a terrain for boules and especially a superb swimming pool where we could all relax; equally beautiful indoor spaces where we all felt so much at home! Everyone's bedroom was excellent; bathroom facilities were somewhat shared, but also excellent, kitchen and dining room all very well equipped for enjoying ourselves.
We loved Gaby and Guy's hospitality, especially when Gaby was able to sit down with us and talk to us about the renovations of the historic accommodation, and Guy took us on a tour of the whole site. We also enjoyed the cocktail party, meeting the other guests. We also had a very successful art class with a local artist; Gaby helped to organise this, and as for her suggestion that we eat at Mas du Capoun; Mollegès: the best meal we had! We'll be back next year!

We recently stayed at Moulin de la Roque in Les Oliviers. The accommodation was perfect for two couples travelling together. The owners, Guy and Gaby made us feel very welcome and provided invaluable information about what to see in the surrounding area.
Noves is within easy walking distance. My husband went in every morning to pick up freshly baked croissants for breakfast. The locations is ideal for taking day trips to visit the hilltop villages. We looked forward to a swim when we returned from a day of sightseeing. A truly special place.

Dear Harv and Marie,
We see that you are joining the group of Susan Morris from October 10-17. We are looking forward to meeting you. For your question, our main airport is Marseille - which actually located north of Marseille in Marignane- and about 40 minutes on the autoroute from the estate. We also have a smaller airport in Avignon about 15 minutes away however very few flights come here.
In searching flights from Bonn-Cologne, we have seen that Lufthansa, KLM, Germanwings and Chalair have flights - however none are direct. They would route through Munich, Amsterdam or Dusseldorf. Chalair would route through Lyon and Paris. Your best bet would be Bravofly or Easy Jet. Thye are low cost airlines that seems to have direct flights into Marseille. Just Google flights from Bonn-Cologne to Marseille and all the flights will appear.
For other questions or assistance, please feel free to write us directly. You can find our website on Trip Advisor which includes our email address (TA does not allow us to put email addresses or websites in our responses). Writing us directly will greatly expedite our response to you.
We look forward to seeing you in October.
Warmest Regards,
Gaby and Guy
