Enjoy your stay in Calacuccia!
We stopped here for a night as part of a five day Corsica hike. Hosts were helpful, friendly and the open fire in the hotel bar was a nice touch. Hotel is well managed and has an authentic “Corsican touch”. Highly recommmended for a comfortable evening’s rest.
Excellent rooms with balcony, excellent hosts, very clean, good breakfast, perfect! The host gave us good advice for their dinner. Great location, fantastic sceneries, nice mountain, nice forest and treks.
We booked for two nights and ended up staying for six. Nice comfortable room with its own sheltered balcony, very clean and a comfortable bed. The room faced the mountains at the back of the hotel with great views. The proprietors, Stella and Matthieu, are wonderfully welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Calacuccia is surrounded by stunning countryside and well positioned for all levels of walks. The hotel is something of a meeting place for the locals and we enjoyed our delicious breakfast as they called in for their coffees. An altogether enjoyable and memorable stay.
A nice place to stop on a walking trip across the mountains. We had a warm welcome and the room was comfortable, with a small balcony. Breakfast was a simple traditional affair, with plenty of coffee and we felt accepted and welcomed despite our lack of fluent French
Very nice little, apparently newly renovated hotel with clean rooms with a beautiful view of the mountain landscape. The owners are very friendly and warm. I recommend a pietra in front of the large open fireplace!
The room was clean and nice. We had a private terace. Which gets very cozy once morning sun rises. Staff very helpful and nice. There is a restaurant on the first floor. It gets a bit noisy in the morning once people come to fill in fuel as in the yar is a fuel station.
Two-storey mountain hotel stands at an edge of a village of Calacuccia, short walk to the centre (cafes, restaurants, shop). Hotel has a bar and serves breakfasts (croisants/baguettes with assortment of jams/honey, plenty of nice coffee, orange juice) to hotel guests and campers from adjacent campground which has a beautiful view of the dam and mountains around. We stayed one night in the hotel, which was clean and tidy, spacious, with chairs and coffee table to relax at and a balcony to admire the mountains from. We decided to stay another night in Calacuccia to have an extra day of rest during our hiking. No room in the hotel was available, so the owners suggested staying in their on-site caravan at their campground. Caravan was fully equiped, with linen, towels, dishes, stove, extended roof over sink, benches for sitting outdoors, electricity. We had a great view of the dam and mountains. The campground had clean basic toilets and showers. We loved being able to stay one night in the caravan! Very peaceful stay altogether.…
This is a great spot to stay in Calacuccia, and Calacucci is certainly worth a visit! Beautiful mountains surrojnds this little village. It is a great stop, even if not hiking the mountains. It is a family run hotel with character. The owners and staff are super friendly and it is a gathering spot for the people in the village which makes it very special.
A lovely hotel set in the highest mountain area of Corsica. Best place to set off to unforgettable walks in local rivers and on the highest pics of the island. Typical warm Corsican hospitality from the owners who will do anything to make your stay very enjoyable.
This was our first visit to Corsica, a late in September one week tour mainly along the coast. A passage through the highlands was planned at mid-period, pointing to the beautiful area between Corte and Monte Cinto, the highest elevation of Corsica. The one-night stay in that area was selected by only inspiration at Calacuccia, hotel Acquaviva, a beautiful setting in the heart of the "Parc Natural Regional de Corse". Best choice, no regrets, we really enjoyed the warm welcome by the owners, the Acquaviva couple, the convenient room with a view towards the highest mountain range including Monte Cinto, the kindness and efficiency of Lucian and Romana, in charge with services. The atmosphere is calm and genuine, local people meet for a drink and a chat, informal and friendly. The owners are willing to recommend hiking and trekking routes, visits to lakes, forests, rivers and canyons. Last but least un grand merci to Mrs Stella Acquaviva who introduced us to Negroni " petit apero" as welcome drink and to Mr. Acquaviva who recommended his favourite wine, a very spectacular lighter and refreshing rose wine of Aghione terroir, namely "Tendance Casanova" Gris 2016 AVCC. which we ordered and tasted next day in Calvi, by the sea Salute & Avvedeci…
