We purposefully looked up a more special location 'in the middle of nowhere', where we could relax and not have to drive to dinner if we chose not to. Locanda Gulfi was perfect for this: decent pool (cool temperature in October), great views day and night, fabulous wines, great food and friendly service. The location would do well to have...

The room was quiet, very comfortable and had wifi and ac. Swimming in the infinity pool offered stunning views of vineyards and the countryside. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. There are so many winery options in this area and this is a good one. The breakfast was also varied and delicious. It is a little remote and the road...

Going late season meant we had the gorgeous pool to ourselves. It is a remote countryside spot with beautiful views and an excellent restaurant. We also went on a cellar tour which was interesting, and of course had an assortment of their wines over dinner. A large buffet breakfast spread was another treat. Is cake for breakfast a bad thing?!...

This is the highlight of our 2 weeks holiday in Sicily.... the winery/ lodge is more beautiful and peaceful than I would've imagined. Tucked away in one of the villages in Chiaramonte Gulfi, the property is on top of a hill and overlooking vineyards (its own and its neighbors'). We stayed for 2 nights and its been one of the...

The fame of the restaurant had spread so we decided to take a detour on our way from Agrigento to Syracusa and stop for lunch. We had heard that you need to reserve; it's not so much that you need to reserve a spot but that they can begin cooking. They seem to live to cook. I have the fantasy...

We decided to spend a magical 5 days away from the hustle and bustle of our hectic working life with a group of friends in this piece of Sicilian paradise. Locanda Gulfi is a beautiful winery/lodge based near a quaint village called Chiaromonte Gulfi surrounded by rolling Sicilian hills. The location is perfect for relaxation by the pool or to...

Locanda Gulfi is about 5km from Chiamonte Gulfi, an unusual and very attractive mountainside city in the heart of Sicily. The hotel is attached to a winery with accommodation for about 20 people. We paid extra for an upgrade to half board and it was well worth it. On our first night we had 3/4 chefs serving us! The food...

We stayed 5 nights and had a wonderful time thanks to Davide, Giorgio and the team. The room was bright with a huge bed with proper sheets. The pool bar had a mean Aperol Spritz and the club sandwiches are great. The restaurant served excellent food, although after 3 nights we did need a break for some basic food! The...

We stayed three nights. The room was a bit small but the bathroom was adequate. There is a certain feeling that you are locked in but for the grounds and the pool. However, it had rained before our arrival and the pool had been abandoned--note that the pool is a good hike from the hotel and restaurant. In general, the...
