Sanctum Inle Resort was the most memorable hotel from our trip around Myanmar and one of the more memorable ones from our travels around 40+ countries. We arrived by boat and enjoyed this entrance to the hotel. You approach the hotel through floating gardens to reveal the complex of cloisters with Mediterranean-style tiled roofs and manicured grounds. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us at the boat and took us to a private room off the lobby where we were checked in by the general manager, Baptiste Cabarry. We were then taken by golf cart to our room as the grounds are rather large. Our room was large with plenty of space, large bathroom and balcony overlooking the grounds. It was quite comfortable and quiet. In the evening the staff would turndown the room. The hotel has loaner bicycles with limited gearing. We used them to check out the nearby village on our first afternoon. The hotel is fairly isolated and the setting is great so we had dinner in the hotel, which served good food. We also enjoyed watching the setting sun from the hotel. The pool was an excellent place to spend the afternoon though it was a little cold. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel’s grounds and setting, which were very peaceful and relaxing. The next day we had a sunrise private Inle Lake boat tour, which we arranged in town. The tour was nice; however, you get dropped off at various places that after a little while get a little boring if you have visited a lot of places around Asia. We would have preferred to have spent some of this time at the hotel. It would be worthwhile researching what you would like to see on Inle Lake to better utilize your time. On the boat tour we did not see the classic fisherman with cone shaped nets that are commonly shown in pictures. The hotel staff told us that fisherman no longer use these types of nets. The receptionist arranged for us to have a fisherman with cone net meet me near the hotel at sunset for pictures. We were really happy with their assistance, since this one of the things were looking forward to when visiting Inle Lake. Throughout our stay the staff was very helpful making sure everything was arranged for our day. They arranged our taxi to the airport and had a golf cart ready to take us to checkout. Overall, I would stay at Sanctum Inle Resort and would likely not think about staying anywhere else.…
Situated by the lake with a beautiful view and sunset. We had a nice and confortable villa with a view on the lake. Nice swimming pool to relax after your day visit. The restaurant and food are average.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights in early March 2020. The Suite is very spacious and very comfortable. The Resort Grounds with the lake are scenic, serene and tranquil. The swimming pool is nice and I enjoyed swimming laps. The food in the restaurant for dinners and "a la carte" breakfast was excellent. Service by all the staff was courteous and professional.
The hotel is stunning. The hotel is right on the lake, which makes it magical. I recommend arriving at the hotel via boat. The sunset from the terrace was lovely. The hotel is a five-star+ property. I was concerned since the price is very reasonable. Don't let that be a deterrent. The hotel is fantastic. The hotel has every thoughtful touch. The room was large and had every amenity. The spa was terrific and priced reasonably. The food was delicious and again, reasonable, although more expensive than the local restaurants as you would expect. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
Stayed in one of the junior suites, beautifully appointed, extremely spacious, with comfortable beds giving a good nights sleep. Great food and drinks in the bar, restaurant and room service. Pool and grounds were beautiful, with great views and very peaceful surroundings. Although the pool was a little too cold. Gym could ideally do with some weights machines, but no biggy. Spa massages were good too. Borrowed the free bikes to explore the lake and took a couple of exercusions on the lake organised by the hotel. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Big thanks to the Baptise and his team, sure we'll be back.
We loved our stay here. We approached by water and were greeted by the sight of the impeccable grounds and the beauty of this hotel. Our room was extremely well equipped and catered to all our needs. The food in the restaurant was excellent and together with their wonderful staff we couldn’t have asked for more. Just one small blip in as much as there was a problem with the water supply one evening which did cause some inconvenience but these things happen and we can forgive because everything else was first class. Can thoroughly recommend a stay here.
We arrived by long boat and loved every minute. The people are so nice. The manager greeted us with tea. An infinity pool awaited. The food was very good and reasonable. Dinner offered a la cart or a 5 set menu. The bar was fully stocked and they could make anything with a smile. Beds were so comfortable and there is even a “pillow menu” to meet your sleeping needs. On our return from sightseeing, a couple was going on a sunset cruise with big pillow chairs not the long boat. Cute. Only wish we could stay longer
If you're looking for a place to relax in comfort, this could be the place for you. It has a lovely setting, with gardens leading down to the jetty where boats will take you onto the lake, past a village with floating gardens. Our room was spacious with a really comfortable bed and, since it's in a quiet neighbourhood, you should get a good night's sleep. Food is excellent, especially breakfast, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. You could argue that the hotel itself lacks atmosphere, being very western-style, but the atmosphere comes form the lovely surroundings.
For our three day stop at Inle Lake we stayed at the Sanctum Inle Resort. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was spacious with plenty of space to store clothes and all of our gadgets. Every morning breakfast was very satisfying with plenty of options. The restaurant offered a complete menu with a wide variety of Asian and Western foods. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool and the lake in the distance. Yet the real jewel for the Sanctum is the staff. Always very friendly and ready to take care of any need. The general manager, Baptiste, was constantly checking on us, answering questions, giving advice, and making certain that our stay was a wonderful experience. We would highly recommend the Sanctum for anyone looking for an ideal place to stay in the Inle Lake area. …
We very much enjoyed our stay here - chosen on the basis of reviews on here which we felt were very accurate. Excellent peaceful location. Very attentive service. Lovely room. Reasonably priced excursions on the lake. Good food. Well managed.
