As a solo traveler I played 5 USD for a double room in July, the room was cosy, with private bathroom, wooden floor and spacious beds. Rooms are secluded by a pretty little garden. Can't ask for more in a budget hotel especially in Myanmar where everything is grossly overpriced for foreigners. The family is adorable, and one of the little girls is aleays ready to play badminton.
If you're a budget traveller, then look no further. This is the cheapest place in town and the sweetest lady owner ever. I got a private room with a good breakfast included for $10US! She also cooked me a delicious dinner one night for free! Stay here and save your money.
It was nice, we just crashed there. The owner was very helpful with bus tickets to Yangon and a boat trip to Inle lake while we were there. We arrived at 3 in the morning and she still chatted and helped with our stuff.
$10 USD for the most basic backpacker's set-up you can imagine. Thought about putting my sleeping bag over the mattress. Private bathroom a step above camping (don't expect it to be clean). Owner is very moody, can be sugary sweet or all scowls. Mostly the latter. I got a giant heap of the latter as well as mean spirited yelling when I got back to the inn a couple hours late after check-out time. She reamed me out yelling for several minutes straight, walking away each time so as to not give me a chance to explain myself. I didn't think I was paying for Customer Service, but just know that you get what you pay for. Cheapest place to stay in Inle, though. Breakfast is tea, 2 eggs, toast and a pancake. Slightly concerned about hygiene, but I ate it and it tasted fine. Bananas at breakfast on Day 1 were in rough shape and fermenting, for example.…
