We arrived at the hotel after having seen a roadside board advertising its presence. It is quite a distance from the main road and that emphasises the quietness and rural feel of the hotel. It looks like an 18C hunting lodge and the reception is in keeping with that with animal heads and tapestries on the wall. We were surprised...

We stayed here in advance of our daughter's wedding nearby and booked in advance via Booking.com The owner, Mr Colas, and his charming wife are the perfect hosts and we enjoyed a few very nice days/evenings there. The setting is beautiful and we were fortunate enough to be able to dine on the outside terrace both evenings looking out over...

We arrived in a torrential downpour - we had been in it for over an hour, it was getting late and we were not going to get to our planned destination... We saw the promenant signs and took the hint... we missed the easy way in and arrived by a long narrow lane. We selected a room, one of 6...

While traveling France, we always try to stay at 3 pot Logis, the food is always above averagel and this is definitely no exception! as said elsewhere, the hotel is showing signs of age, however, everything works and is clean. The setting is great and in past years must have been superb! None the less, to eat here or sit...

We came across this place by accident. I wanted to visit Brantome and soon realised that this was a bit far away to just drop back into the historic and beautiful town of Brantome for dinner. But seriously this was the best place I have ever stayed in France. Not super luxurious in decor, the bedrooms are small but the...

the restaurant is simply wonderful and set in an original hunting lodge style of decor. the food is well prepared and of the region. the rooms are also attractive and the hotel is in a nice setting but unfortunately the mattress of our bed was very tired and sunk on the edges which made for a very poor night's sleep....

Rob N. has put it far more eloquently than I can. If you want to enjoy a fast disappearing France, and experience M et Mme Colas warmth, grace and charm, then stay. Only down side. I suspect the high calorie diet might become a problem after 4-5 days.

This was the second year running we have stayed at this wonderful Auberge on our way back from The Pyrenees - but it wont be the last. If you like modern, crisp, sleek....then this isnt for you. This is all about character. The buildings have it in abundance. The proprietors have even more! To sit in the afternoon sun on...

This Logis is well worth a visit. The property is only about 60 years old, built by the Mr Colas' family I assume as a retreat or hunting lodge. Both M et Mme Colas are a charming, gentile couple - Madame was always so elegantly dressed. The bedrooms have clearly been updated in recent years, although the bathrooms are in...

out of the way in a very scenic part of France, the auberge may at first look a bit shabby and tired but guests need to look past first appearance and enjoy the eccentricity of the place and its owners. very few hotels in France remain with such character and this is what we were looking for and we were...
