We stayed for 4 nights, and had a wonderful time, it started while checking-In, followed by the cosy room, even-though the AC was a bit inadequate it was more than OK. Breakfast is rich, and everything is freshly made. Fabien the manager took a personal care of everything, his attitude made a positive influence to our stay. I do recommend... More

My daughter and I stayed at Le Manoir for 4 days. The accommodation was more than comfortable and the service exceptional. The Manoir has beautiful gardens with large perfumed roses, lilly ponds and a strawberry patch. The Dordogne river flows past and can be seen from the windows and the garden. The restaurant had a delightful ambience and delicious food.... More

We chose this hotel because of previous good reviews . Unfortunately the hotel has changed hands since then and has been bought by a Chinese family who know very little english and almost nothing about cooking. The food was terrible while the head waiter was unbelievably rude on our first night. The owners do not even taste the food they... More

My husband and Toddler stayed here for 4 nights. We were the only people staying there as its the off season. The manager of the manoir looked after us in every way. He was so helpful with our room, our food and sight seeing. He was very friendly and made us feel at home. The food at the restaurant was... More

We visited this beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting. The bedrooms were really comfortable. This is the place to stay if you are in the Dordogne. The food in the restaurant was a gastronomic delight. Must be the best in the area.

We stayed there for 3 nights in a Privilege room when we visited the Dordogne valley. The place has recently been renovated by the new owners and it's looking fabulous. Our room was spacious with high ceiling and a canopy bed, really makes you feel like living in a castle ! The 19th century style decoration is probably not everyone's... More

The new owners of this property are clearly working hard to make this hotel really attractive and welcoming. They deserve to be successful. Most of the staff – a young be-spectacled waiter, the chef, the sous-chef, the gardener, and the young women looking after the bedrooms - are very polite and quietly helpful. (There is only one rude and intrusive... More

The new owner has made some beautiful additions to the property, it is really lovely. The waiter was smug and rude otherwise the restaurant was good. Good quality food nicely prepared. Inventive menu with lovely surroundings. Unfortunately spoilt by waiter.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Michel and his team are the happy new owners of this magnificent mansion steeped in history and now welcome you all year in the heart of the Dordogne. Many decorative and compliance work has been achieved, but the soul of the Manor is preserved. A fine 19th- century country manor magnificently set in a quiet 4-hectare English-style park on the banks of the Dordogne river, the Manoir de Bellerive is a Directory-style manor built in 1840, then modified by French Emperor Napoleon III who wanted to offer it to one of his favorites. Located 30 km from Sarlat, outstanding medieval capital of the Perigord Noir, 40 km from Bergerac and 50 km from Perigueux, the Manoir is therefore at the heart of an area rich in sights and activities (Cadouin, Beynac, Sarlat, the valley of the 5 castles, Lascaux II, the valley of Prehistory, etc.). You'll stay in one of our 21 rooms facing the park or on the river side. The romantic atmosphere and quality of the decoration combine with a charming ambiance, and a home in harmony with the elegance of the place.. All rooms are individually decorated, air-conditioned, and offer direct telephone, TV, minibar, satellite. The en-suite bathroom are spacious, bright, with bath, shower, basin, vanity mirror, hairdryer. WC. Come and fresh up in our swimming pool after a day of hiking or play a match of tennis to stay fit during your holiday. Other suggestions, such as the menu PERIGOURDIN, menu GOURMAND or menu DEGUSTATION, prolong the pleasure of rediscovering the Manoir around a extensive wine list, including the local famous Bergerac, Pecharmant, Monbazillac or Montravel. ... more   less
