Typically Swiss The quaint Swiss-Chalet Bed & Breakfast, a wooden house built in the 17th century in a typical Swiss farmhouse style, offers a special atmosphere. Low ceilings, a lot of wood and creaky beams are an experience which you otherwise find in the lofty heights of the mountains. We offer you free parking spaces at the large parking area on the opposite side of the street. The restaurant and bar are located in the same building. There we serve as well the breakfast from 06.30 – 10.00 o’clock. Check-in & Check out will be in the Schloss-Hotel which is in the street: Chappelmattweg 4, 6402 Merlischachen

I stayed at the Swiss Chalet Merlischachen on a friend’s recommendation as I wanted to avoid a touristy location and experience a typical Swiss hotel. This was exactly what I wanted, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were very friendly and the hotel had a great lawn facing the lake and was very active in the evening. The room was a very small one and had no attached toilets, but was ok for a one-night stay.

The experience I had was a very good one in the 3 days I stayed here. From the reception I was gifted with an upgrade of the room. Although I booked a room without own bathroom, the new Viking room given was exaclty what I needed after my full business days: quiet, clean & cozy room, excellent sheets, nice bathroom with cool cleaning package, excellent view. The breakfast was really good and diverse. Oh and very closed to the train station.

Guys, yesterday, we had a night stop near Lucerne at Schloss Hotel and shared our lunch at Swiss Chalet restaurant with the whole family. Kids were happy with their “monstruous hamburgers“ with French fries. My wife and I started with the curry soup with prawns and went on with the “Rösti & Leberli“, a typical recette. We had a walk after that, to see those nearby very old Swiss Chalets and enjoyed a quiet night, just over the lake shore. A unexpected nice experience and all in all, a very affordable package indeed.

This is a quaint place in a lovely location and maybe it was because we had dogs (who were warmly welcomed) but we got a tiny room for 200CH which was not at all value for money. Add the 15CH/per dog and the price was really high. Unlike the ceiling in the room which was very low! No Dutchman could stand in this room. The people above us were moving around a lot at night (it was during the flooding so perhaps they were very anxious) so we could not sleep until about 2am as a result. Breakfast was included and service was good but for that price, I would stay somewhere else!

Luzern was booked out and we drove here on the last attempt of staying in the area for the night . Was a few minutes out of town but a quiet break from the busy city which was nice . We had a very quiet room with a balcony and walkout to a park and the bay . The room came with every option and not an issue with quality here . Top notch everything . The staff very helpful and receptionist great and understanding. There’s not much for food but a snack bar near water and a fine dining hotel across street they can book u a table if there’s room at the restaurant. The food was great but a lil expensive for average and Europe’s smoking rule may have u gagging on cigarettes if everyone on patio lights up at dinner time . But other than that a great place and great food . I would recommend to anyone wanting to be near lucerne but not right in the city for mid range to high quality standards

Thirty years ago we had our wedding reception here so I thought it would be nice to surprise my better half by spending a night here to celebrate. When I made the reservation I mentioned this to them and asked if they could do anything special to make our stay more memorable, it would be appreciated. They obliged big time. Thank you Swiss Chalet. Of course I'm going to say nice things about them - but our stay was wonderful and all the staff extremely helpful and efficient - after all, they are Swiss! Our room was wonderful. The restaurant kept a table for us all evening so that we could enjoy a relaxing beer (Einsiedlen) which was excellent. We then ordered from a very interesting menu. My better half went for a Schloss burger followed by vanilla ice cream. I chose Muotothal pork with cognac cream sauce and a selection of Swiss cheeses. We both immensely enjoyed our food and the wine that went with it. The service was first class. This morning the extensive breakfast buffet on offer continued the quality and variety. We truly had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend this place strongly enough.

We took a room with a shared bathroom + toilet, and luckily they agreed to move us to another room with a private bathroom, but with extra 40 CH.. The price is very high compared to what you get.. The room is very small - the TV didn't work, the bed was so uncomfortable and we heard every step of the people in the room above us... The breakfast was really good and the location is beautiful!
