Excellent hotel with excellent location located near a few restaurants and also near the old city town, extremely clean & comfortable. We were warmly welcomed by mister Franco, a very special person. We stayed there for a long period and was like feeling home for the good equipment the b&b offer. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality!!
Probably the best combination of hospitality, conditions and price in town. The host is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are equipped with all you need. Is near to the historical part of town and a few restaurants.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and spacious too. Nirmala and Franco were so friendly and taught us a little Italian every morning over breakfast! We felt very welcome. The breakfast was simple but the homemade cakes were really tasty. We stayed for six nights and made many walks up to the historic town centre. Guardiagrele is a very interesting place with new little places to always discover. Good parking for a car as well! A great place to stay!
We arrived in Guardiagrele by pure chance, one evening at almost 8 pm with two little children aged 1 and 3 and no place to sleep, because of a hick-up with a campsite we were supposed to go to. The situation could have been quite worrying, if it hadn't been for the precious suggestion of a friendly chap in a bar in the centre of Guardiagrele. I was almost embarassed when I phoned up and had to ask if we could have a room there and then and that we also needed a carrycot! But that was no issue at all. 15 mins later the hosts were already at the house with everything we needed for the children and welcomed us into a modern and tastefully decorated flat. Despite the position of the house which is located on a junction between two roads, the room was very well sound proofed and we practically didn't hear the noise of the cars driving past with the windows closed. We didn't need the airco, but of course it was available. The following morning we welcomed by Nirmala's wonderful smile, a homemade cake and plums from her garden. I couldn't have asked for more! Thanks to a wrong booking I discovered a beautiful medieval village, had a great dinner in the slow food osteria Santa Chiara and rested in a lovely place where I felt I could definitely stay for longer.…
Il Mulino is modern with large clean rooms, built at the site of a former family-owned pasta factory. It was a great value, about 40% less expensive than the local hotels, and a very quiet location. We were pleased to find out that the owner comes every morning to serve delicious homemade delicacies such as pies and cakes made with fresh ingredients grown in the region. They also offer American coffee, along with espresso and cappuccino. The owner was very knowledgeable about the region and about the quaint little mountain town of Guardiagrele (nearChieti) at the highest point in the Apennine Mountain range. It is an easy drive to the top of the historic town, where there is parking and many little wine shops and artisan shops. There are clear vistas of the entire region of Abruzzo spread out below, as well as a view Mount Majella (2,793 m.) Guardiagrele is a 2 hour drive due east from Rome, and a good place to spend a day and night to enjoy the high mountain atmosphere before continuing east to the coastal beach towns of Abruzzo to enjoy the warmer Mediterranean climate.…
