We booked the hotel for bed breakfast and dinner for one night as I was playing Bonalba Golf in the morning and fancied an overnight stay. The hotel is large and spacious, the outside pool area huge and well laid out. The hotel was not full and we booked in and asked about parking, yes there was parking in an underground carpark but it was an extra €10 we paid and put our car there. There was room for some 60 cars, 8 were there. We went to our room which was large and well presented overlooking the huge pool area. We unpacked and went to the pool, selected a couple of sun beds, it was not busy and went to collect a towel from the pool side bar. They could not issue us a towel as we had to pay for a towel at reception! So I donned my mask, put on a top and went to reception with my room card queued up and asked for a towel €20 for two towels and I could not put it on my room! So I then went up to the room got €20 note came back queued again at reception, handed over €20 the was given a chit to take to the poolside bar! What a performance! Why couldn’t I just not have show my card at the poolside bar? As per our Parador experience? We spent a pleasant afternoon around the pool, took our towels back to reception and got our €20 back. We then got dressed for dinner, went to the bar by the restaurant had drinks and waited for it to open. We were told when we booked in the opening times of the restaurant and we duly waited. The restaurant did not open, we were told there were not enough people eating in it so we would have to go to the Buffett area, not what we expected. We were very disappointed. The Buffett set up was very confusing and apparently you could have some things cooked and help your selves to other things, we felt a bit out of place as we were smartly dressed and all the other folk had come straight from the pool with their families. It would have been nice if that had all been explained when we booked in!! The food was Ok, but not what we expected. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep, the breakfast (in the Buffett area) was very good. Over all the hotel is good, we just wished things could have been explained more! We speak Spanish. I played golf on the excellent golf course, not sure if we would go back as I say we were disappointed with the organisation.

After booking a family holiday and having a free night during our holiday we booked via Booking.Com this hotel. Due to Covid we had to cancel on government advise and subsequently asked for a refund via the agent and direct with the hotel several times. Several times later the hotel still ignores all emails and correspondence from ourselves and Booking.Com Beware they bury their heads in the sands after taking your money. Shocking awful considering the pandemic

We were initially booked to stay 3 nights while house hunting in the region but extended an extra 3 days as the hotel is great. Anyone with access to a map can see it's not in the centre of Alicante and about a 15min drive away so a car is needed. There is a hotel bus that you can catch but we never used this. The staff are all very professional and friendly and make you feel welcome. The family room is fine, fold out couch for thr kids and a nice large and comfortable bed for us. 2 bathrooms, one with a bath and one with a shower. There is the obligatory minibar which has some water, coke-a-cola and fanta orange. Due to covid and health precautions there is no tea or coffee facilities in the room so any drinks need come from the minibar, vending machine or room service. There are various boarding options from just the room up to fully inclusive. We opted for just bed and breakfast. There are two "shifts" for all meals, again for health reasons and you can choose when booking in which slot to go for. The buffet has a large selection of juices, fresh fruit, various pastries and rolls, eggs, "bacon", mushrooms, beans, tomato and hash browns. There is also cold meats and cheeses for a more continental breakfast. Also the usual cereals and yoghurts are available. Hot drinks are made to order so a good choice from plain coffee to a cortado or various tea infusions and hot chocolate. We never experience cold or dried out food while we stayed. The swimming pool is the main selling point for families I would say and they have a great children's entertainer who also does aqua aerobics. Lifeguards are on duty most of the day apart from a 2hr slot. Plenty of loungers and shade spots under thatching. We spent a fair bit of time by the pool as did most of the other guests. There is a bar by the pool open in busy season or you can sit outside and enjoy a meal and drink from the bar menu. The menu is slightly limiting and could include just a few more dishes like maybe a pasta dish or steaks. With a car everywhere is fairly easy to get to when heading in to Alicante or further afield. There are some restaurants and a small shop about 10min away up the road should you wish head elsewhere but still close to the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay and can't fault anything major, the bar menu being the most limiting thing. Again, the staff are all great and all speak English very well which was fantastic as my Spanish is malo. Would return again.

Booked the hotel direct, as two of the family are Vegetarian. Was told not a problem, the chef would do what ever you wanted. On arrival we were disappointed with the junior suite, looked very dated, something from the 1980. Enjoyed the pool. No staff in the outside bar and had go into the hotel and press a bell for service not what you expect from a 4 Star hotel. When down for dinner. Asked what options they had for vegetarians was told none! Two ordered and got what I can only say was very low standard. After 27 minutes the vegetarian meal arrived TWO BABY BOWELS OF PASTA. Asked for a manager and was told none in the hotel. Please remember this is a 4 Star hotel. Would have checked into a nearby hotel ,but at the hotel is in the middle of nowhere this was not a option. Had a mean in a local bistro which was of a higher standard. Following morning talked to the GM Vanessa. Who confirmed that there was no managers on duty, but did say she could have been phoned ! I have never stayed in a hotel with out a manager on duty. She did offer to refund the meal. Considering that the hotel stay had been a disaster I turned it down. Not sure what standard Sercotel hotels think is 4 star .More like 2 Star.

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and the hotel itself was lovely. The atmosphere was quiet but was to be expected in February but couldn’t complain as we enjoyed the peace and quiet. The food and drink was fine however the only reason I didn’t give a 5 star was due to the limited choices that we had due to our all inclusive package, my other half was not happy with the fact that she had to drink nothing but Fanta or a soft drink due to being no fizzy free alternatives besides juice which she isn’t a big fan on either. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more alcoholic beverages on the all inclusive menu however the fact that they gave you 50% off drinks not on the all inclusive made it reasonably fair. The bar food was nice if not slightly limited. Breakfast was okay however we both found that it was not piping hot but moderate to cold. I’m a chef and I could tell that the food was either sitting out for a long time or the Carvery unit it was served off of was not maintaining a steady temperature (couldn’t feel much warmth from it as I approached it). We tried having dinner in the restaurant once but unfortunately we decided not to again due to the very limited menu, a lot of it was very fine dining sort of food and both me and my partner are not accustomed to that kind of food, would recommend a la carte menu as well as a standard menu with simple honest foods that everyone of all acquired taste buds can enjoy . The location was a bit of a let down as it’s in the middle of nowhere and we wasn’t happy to fork out 20 euros just for one trip to the beach for a few hours and 20 euros back, seemed a bit expensive to us. We was offered one free trip but it was only to Alicante for a few hours so we felt pretty stranded for things to do in our hotel. Wasn’t much entertainment either, it’s a beautiful place for older couples but certainly not the kind of place to go with children or a group of mates. The staff here were pleasant enough however I would like to recommend one of your members of staff who really caught our attention. His name was Alex and I believe he was one of your bar/waiting staff and honestly he went out of his way to make sure that me and my partner had what we needed. He was very friendly, had a lot of positive energy about him, and he spoke to us a fair bit, his English was very good, and made us not feel just like a customer which is amazing because those are the kinds of people who make a difference especially in a hotel. All in all he made our stay here very welcome and it’s a shame we only had him around for the last few days of our stay. Although I’ve probably made more negative points than good I would still give this place a 4 star as the hotel is beautiful, I understand the location can’t really be changed but perhaps maybe offer more affordable services around the area? And there is definitely some small room of improvement as far as the food and beverage service goes. Other than that we both had a lovely time and we would definitely come back if we ever decide to take a trip to Alicante again in the future.
