Nestled among characteristic Galician 'Aldeas' (villages), Lar da Mota Boutique Hotel is a 16th century farmhouse restored into a Boutique Hotel with 10 contemporary guest rooms whilst still retaining many of its original features, natural stone walls and rustic charm. The Hotel is located on the outskirts of Arzúa (8 kms) along both the French and Northern Routes of the ‘Camino de Santiago’ (Trail of Saint James) surrounded by plush meadows, valleys and characteristic Galician ‘Aldeas’ (villages). Lar da Mota Boutique Hotel es una antigua casa de campo del siglo XVI restaurada en un Hotel Boutique, en el que se han conservado muchas de sus características originales, paredes de piedra natural y encanto rural. El Hotel consta de 10 habitaciones contemporáneas y está situado en las afueras de Arzúa (8 kms) a lo largo de las Rutas Francesa y del Norte del 'Camino de Santiago'. A lovely and much needed respite for our group traveling on the Camino Santiago. Flexibility in room types, delicious cuisine, and a comfortable atmosphere. If you prefer to be in a quiet environment outside of the city center, Lar da Mota is just a quick shuttle away. Thank you for the hospitality. Bravo!

The location is a little remote country side house! They can send a free taxi to pick up and return you the following day. Prima (Malaysian chef) & Javier are the owners, and together with Juan (Javier's brother) are very good hosts and serves you very well!

Our group of 15 stayed at the Lar de Mota Hotel in May 2023 while we were walking the Camino Frances from Triacastela to Santiago. What an incredible experience! The hotel is a beautifully renovated 16th Century farmhouse, with wonderful furnishings and art throughout. It is set in an idyllic rural setting. No detail was spared by Javier and Prema to make our stay as comfortable and delightful as possible. Dinner was a gourmet dining experience, much appreciated by our pilgrims. Don't miss staying at this amazing hotel...it is truly unforgettable.

Excellent from the minute I arrived. I was welcomed to my room which had a beautiful sunset view. Dinner was delicious. The breakfast was a full spread with eggs, ham, juice fresh pastries and more. The room even had a brush for me to clean my boots and bag. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if you are on the Camino Frances Pilgrimage. They sent a taxi to pick me up and brought me back the next day.

My favorite stop on our Camino trip. We were greeted by our gracious host, Javiar, who provided a detailed tour of the hotel and offered a selection of wine to settle in after our walk. He was very knowledgeable about the local wines, the history of the region and the hotel history. He went out of his way to make sure our party of four had a quiet dinner before a large party was in attendance. Preema, Javiar's wife, cohost, and chef prepared delicious dinner and breakfast. She made the time to come out and talk to our party multiple times during our stay. We felt more like house guests than hotel guests. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I look forward to when I can return. Best Hotel/Cottage on the Camino!

Our most favorite stay that Camino Ways has arranged for us. Located in the countryside outside of the town of Arzua. Proprietor Javier is a former large chain hotel manager and it shows. This beautiful, old estate has been renovated with luxury in mind. Big, comfy beds, a huge bath tub in a large luxurious bathroom served as the perfect respite after a day of hiking on the Camino. Incredible, gourmet food by a talented Malaysian chef in a warm, relaxing setting left us wanting to stay longer. It would be the perfect home base for day trips throughout Galicia. We definitely want to come back.

A beautiful and stylish place. . The food was absolutely lovely and the staff very warm and helpful. We only spent one night here whilst on the Camino Del Norte but would have liked to stay longer. It was a short cab ride from Arzua and they arranged the cab for us. Overall a lovely stay.
