We visited at Sunday lunchtime. It was very busy and a bit of a bear garden as more and more tables were squeezed in. We only stayed for one course but both the roast and fish and chips were well-cooked and service was reasonably rapid.

On 4th September 2018 I booked 3 rooms at The Bull for the 7th September 2019, as our son is getting married locally on this date . The rooms were booked online for my husband and myself , his mother who is travelling from Spain for the wedding with her husband and our

Yes we did double book the rooms, for which we did apologise a lot for our error. We did find various hotels as alternatives in style and price and as we are 9 months from the date, we felt there was time to rectify the problem. We did try to help with this process, but you had actually already re-booked. We do try and deliver a customer focused approach, but mistakes do occasionally happen. You cannot find somebody more sympathetic than Leigh Ann, but when you start threatening to give a bad review online there is a limit to what can be agreed upon to resolve a matter. All the staff work so hard to give great service and food, see our website for review.

Having seen some of the management responses to people’s reviews on here I’m amazed they haven’t gone viral on Twitter. We’ll see if I get the same treatment! The pub itself is nice enough - closed fire kept the dining room nice and warm without being full of smoke smells,

Thank you for review, we do appreciate a considered review with accurate facts and helpful thoughts. We will then reply in the same way! Thank you for the picture, I agree the fish dish does look a bit modest on veg and sauce, and as we prefer to do more rustic wholesome dishes, I will have had a word with the kitchen. Regards the size of fish portion - that amount of Monkfish costs £5. So we cant really charge much less unfortunately. The rice pudding i tried was very thick and creamy. I have subsequently checked that no chef is letting it down with more milk, thinking it too thick. The rice pud - we do always leave a tiny bite to the rice and it was flavoured with coconut milk and lemon. There are many variations on a rice pudding. May I say that it is always good to mention these points on the day, as they can easily be rectified there and then. Spend 2 minutes talking to us, rather than 10 minutes writing a review as its more productive.

We stayed Christmas and Boxing days but did not eat in the evening as we were visiting family nearby. The Bull Hotel is to be found in a wonderful Kentish setting. Our room, which was a twin was set in what would have been the attic space and, a such was a little on the quirky

A gem of a place with real character, charm and history set in a Kentish village. My husband enjoyed the smokehouse meats so much he often begs me to go back! So we have been there a few times now. So tender and flavourful. Breakfast too. Good quality ingredients. I like the
