Review collected in partnership with Accorhotels.com
The hotel was having a large refit. Arrived to a pile of rubble in the doorway and a constant drilling noise. There was a temporary dining hall in a corridor on the first floor. (Terrible) it was constantly running out of food. When I complained the reception staff shrugged his shoulders and said. “It’s early and people have drank it” we have nothing left. (The hotel is opposite a supermarket) The room smelt damp. Even though we left the towels in the bath for changing, they were re folded and put out again. It was Ryder cup week. The hotel decided to charge £220 a night. I would not have paid £20. Steer clear.

This hotel was booked as a package for the Ryder cup . Arrived on a Wednesday around 6.30 pm . Man on reception only spoke basic English , but he was polite and friendly . Room on the ground floor was very small and basic . Plus side it was clean .Asked the receptionist where to get something to eat and drink , he told us there was only the shopping centre . So we ate in there .Got up for breakfast , due to a refurbishment taking place we had to go to the first floor , very small room with very limited seating , breakfast was ok .Spoke to the new receptionist a nice friendly lady who told us where restaurants and bars where . All in all a basic hotel , with poor facilities , think it will be better after the refurb

Spent 1 night of an intended 5 night stay. Building work was still under way (see previous reviewer) meaning building in evidence in reception, no lounge and breakfast relocated to an upstairs corridor. No space available in the morning so that was breakfast cancelled - irritating. Our ground floor room was small and musty. The sink plug was stuck down meaning even brushing of teeth left a nice legacy for the next user of the bathroom. Neither the hotel or our Ryder Cup supplier warned us building work was on. We were incredibly lucky to insist and get a hotel change as I fear others may not have been so fortunate. Good parking and shopping nearby, if that's your thing.

We were booked here by mistake - the intended destination was another Ibis just across the motorway. Anyway, we are here ... 2 rooms, it’s a business trip. - rooms on the 1st floor. No air conditioning. Hotel on a major avenue (bus etc) handy but noisy, forget about sleeping with open windows. Room smells of wet dog. - hotel is being refurbished, so percussion drills operate from 8 am to 8 pm - because refurbishments, breakfast room is makeshift in 1st floor corridor. Breakfast is well below standard Ibis, complete with expired yogurt and cheap orange drink. We ask our travel organisers to be moved but it was difficult to transfer bookings, so we are transferred to “superior” rooms on the 2nd floor which do have air conditioning. Mine is miles better, my colleague's aircon unit needs servicing and smells musty. We decide to admit defeat.
