We had a lovely ground floor apartment as requested with great views over the gardens. Apartment has been upgraded and air conditioning in the bedrooms was great. Very handy to City and Brunswick St. Appreciated the upgraded Internet. Overall a fantastic stay.

Great location, we stay for easy access with small children to trams lines and the museum. Apartments need some updating but happy to put up with this because of the location. Fantastic air conditioning

We found the location exactly what we needed for our unexpected stay in Melbourne. It enabled us to safely park the car and just walk to the many appointments that we had to attend.Would recommend Royal Gardens any day

Really pleased with our stay. We had a 4 month old with us and the ground floor apartment was perfect. Everything you need and the location for us was great. Pool is small, gardens were nice. Apartments are a little dated and well used but still great! This will be our go to place to stay whenever we are in...

Thank you for our enjoyable recent stay. We celebrated our daughter's wedding in the Carlton Gardens so this location was perfect. All staff were friendly, efficient and professional - and we would recommend this accommodation to others. Also, close location to the city - very handy. Loved the fireworks on New Years Eve!

These apartments are located 30 seconds walk from lively Brunswick street, with its bars, pubs and cafes and 10 minutes walk from Italian food heaven which is Lygon st. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and great value. The city is 15 minutes walk and there are trams stops 1 minute walk away.

Our family gathered at the Quest Royal Gardens over Christmas and had a wonderful time. The apartments are comfortable, clean and well equipped and exceeded expectations. The gardens, pool and BBQ areas beautifully maintained which made for lovely outdoor meals. The outstanding thing here is the guest service. Nothing was too much trouble and it always came with a smile....

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighborhood Profile
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighborhood that embraces both old and new.
