This hotel is really situated in the middle of nowhere at 10 km of Ferrara. It is relatively new and situated in an old building (I believe it used to be a kind of farm or stables). The renovation was done with the best materials. The rooms are superb, with large windows. Only the view is nothing special (middle of...

I spent a fantastic weekend in this small and elegant country resort in a city pretty and elegant, Ferrara (famous capital of the Italian Renaissance). The staff is exquisite and the director is "present" nice and friendly. The pool is gorgeuos small but well maintained, elegant garden and very nice decor of the rooms. Service is also excellent in the...

Went with a colleague for 2 nights stayed on one extra night as a holiday. Lovely rural setting (I imagine you need a car). Beautiful breakfast. The pool is the highlight I would travel back again just to chill out by the pool for the day. Reasonable price approx. 80 euro per room. No downsides. Fleeced the bathroom for hygiene...

Hotel was adequate, room was spacious (even by American standards). Pool was overrun with teenagers (who were not hotel guests) when we arrived. It seems the pool area serves as a community gathering area. Not necessarily bad, but perhaps a little off-putting if one is not expecting that. Hotel seems to double as a location for weddings and parties, judging...

We stayed at the La Tortiola for one night. It was really convenient and although we had not expected breakfast was included in the price. The staff was really friendly. Unfortunately we did not manage to go to the restaurant as we already ate in Ferrara city. The only let down was the lack of air conditioning. I mean there...

I staid at hotel La Tortiola for two and a half month in the fall of 2011, and it was an excellent experience. The hotel is very nicely situated in the countryside surrounded by fields and apple trees. It is in the countryside and you will enjoy the peace and quiet, but Ferrara and the highway to Bologna is not...

Stayed at Tortiola for 2 weeks during April 2011. Rooms have different sizes, but are all between fair and very well equiped. Rooms are almost brand new (refurbished building) and all have access to WiFi (I however had a couple of connection problems) and are kept very clean!!. Surrounding areas are nice, pool is clean, people are friendly and service...

Spacious rooms of high quality looking almost brand new. Airy, light and welcoming. Swimming pool area very relaxing. Restaurant Mona Lisa serves local food and wines and is a delightful experience. This Hotel is a long way out of town, (10/15km ?) so be aware that a car is a must. No transport as far as I know and the...
